Seriously, why would we need or want this category? ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐMethinks it is a Weasel 23:04, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Because LX seemed to think Dead guys was sexist. ТyTalk. 23:04, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- That's not really answering the question. The people listed in this category have no common link aside from death, which happens to us all eventually. If we're going to have this, we might just as well have Category:Alive People, Category:Women, Category:Men, Category:Old People, etc. WèàšèìòìďMethinks it is a Weasel 23:11, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Where to discuss a more general topic, overabundant application of categories in RW? Two stiffs, John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon, are also in Category:Christians, although in their time, neither one was considered generically a "Christian." JFK was Roman Catholic, and it was a big deal at the time. RMN was known to be a Quaker, but was notorious for other things. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 23:23, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ha, a category cleanup? With so many categories containing each other? Allegedly in the forum under site rated discussion. ТyTalk. 23:24, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- I did a lot of that a few months ago, but I don't have as much time any more. I took care of category:history and category:politics. category:religion, category:Christians, and lots of others also need to to dealt with. Blue (is useful) 01:20, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- While this all sounds eerily familiar, I am in agreement with teh Weasel that this category or the Dead guys cat is terribly necessary. Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 01:27, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- It's definitely not necessary. We should have something like "dead politicians" and "dead scientists" etc. Blue (pester) 01:29, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- What about Category:Solid objects, Category:Stuff, Category:Articles on RW, Category:Articles containing words, or Category:Pages in a category. (IOW, I agree with baletion.)Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 01:30, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Agree with Aboriginal Noise and Weaseloid. Especially since the Dead Guys category started as a joke between me and P-Foster over TK's death. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 01:31, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sure fine whatever, I can remove it from every page starting... now. ТyTalk. 01:32, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- That's RC spoiled again. ГенгисRationalWiki GOLD member 06:27, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- What about the Norwegian Blue parrot?
- Perhaps there could be a 'dead theories' category (eg 'phlogiston theory') - or would it be a 'bizarre theory crank magnet'? Anna Livia (talk) 11:55, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
