Conservapedia talk:Next sysop pool
Ready to play bookie here. I'll try doing some handicapping:
Rdeigsler:5/2- Learn Together: 32/7
- Tash: 16/3
- Taj: 8/1
- BrianCo: 32/3
- LukeCorlando: 32/3
- HelpJazz: 16/1
- Additioner: 16/1
- Aziraphale: 16/1
- SSchultz: 64/1
- SkipJohnson: 64/1
- Iduan: 64/1
- Ajkgordon: 64/1
- GregLarson: 128/1
- Order: 128/1
- Human: 999/1(note: This number has 369693100 digits in it, so betting one penny on it and winning would earn you more money than (I believe) has ever existed in the history of the world)(--BillOhannity 18:37, 13 December 2007 (EST))
- Other: 64/1
- If you think the odds are off, they can be adjusted. At the track they adjust all the time as bets come in. DickTurpis 23:53, 12 December 2007 (EST)
- I don't think there should be an "other". human 15:31, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- We kind of need other, for, well, everyone else. If we're overlooking legit candidates we can add them, but frankly I can't see anyone else coming in better than 64/1. And now that you've added yourself the numbers no longer add up to one. We're off by a number which cannot be expressed in standard notation! If the books don't balance at the end, that pico-cent is coming out of your wages! DickTurpis 15:59, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- Oh, of course, I get it. "Other" is anyone no one bet on, right? You can feel free to add my odds in as zero for bookmaking purposes, since that's what they effectively are. Still, darker horses have won tougher races! human 16:25, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- "Other" is anyone except the 12 (well, 13 if we count you, but those are pretty far odds) listed above, regardless of who bets on whom. If I am missing any editor who actually has a chance in hell, by all means we will accommodate him/her. I don't really think there are any, but I certainly could be overlooking someone. Perhaps the re-sysopping of Bohdan or Fox (or Hoji) could be added, but that's probably a separate issue. DickTurpis 16:36, 13 December 2007 (EST)

Shit! TK reminds me, I did forget SSchultz and SkipJohnson. Long shots, to be sure, but no longer than several others. I'll rework the odds. DickTurpis 16:37, 13 December 2007 (EST)
Betting rules & clarifications[edit]
Can we bet on multiple candidates? That is, 9 € for LearnTogether and 1 € for Jesus?
By the way, Jesus's odds are missing. Not that he'd be conservative, Christian, YEC enough for Andy the majority of CP Sysop voters.
Finally, for fair betting, the candidates' CP sock username should be declared. Is Human running as Human? Otherwise he should clearly state hint at his CP alias. Editor at CP 02:41, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- I'm betting on my banned and deleted own self! Surely teh assfly admires the work I have done keeping RW
in good shapeperfect fodder for paranoid rantshalf broken! human 15:30, 13 December 2007 (EST) - Aw, yeah, that was mean. I'll delete the anti-TK snark. By the way, I don't know what you know, but the only "editors" at CP I have run since 5/20 or so are Bohdan17 (I wanted to say "hi" to Bohdan) and Samwell (and "him" only for about 10 minutes). human 16:27, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- I'd say no betting on more than one, unless we're really putting money down, which I don't think we are, and yes, bets are only accepted on legit CP handles. Right now Human is betting on him being unblocked and promoted to sysop. 64/1 seems like not nearly distant enough. DickTurpis

- Really? Please elaborate. DickTurpis 16:36, 13 December 2007 (EST)
Statement seems rather uncomplicated to me. Do you want me to explain "even odds" and what that means? :P --TK/MyTalk 16:39, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- Thanks, but I think I can wrap my mind around the concept of "even odds". I'm just wondering where you got your figures. DickTurpis 16:43, 13 December 2007 (EST)
Side bets[edit]
Can I bet on the probability of the new sysop being a deep cover vandal? I'm sure some of the peons kiss far too much arse to be genuine. --Jeєv☭sYour signature gave me epilepsy... 16:50, 13 December 2007 (EST)

I see[edit]
Somebody struck rdeigsler. Tsk. According to mine research (limited only by pure conjecture) Mr. Deigsler is a techie from Coral Ridge Ministries who has been given the coveted Edit and Upload privileges right off the bat. I see him sweeping in over and on top of hard working CP editors. Just like in the "real world" (Schlafly's) where the guy you play squash with has more pull than the people who have worked for many a year. CЯacke® 23:17, 13 December 2007 (EST)
- I'll have you know, good Squash partners are harder to find than good employees! Good God man! What are you thinking? --TK/MyTalk 00:14, 14 December 2007 (EST)
I could find no on by that name at CP. DickTurpis 10:47, 14 December 2007 (EST)

Sortable?[edit]
Can we make the table sortable by both name and odds? I tried doing it myself, but I couldn't figure out how. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:48, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
