Conservapedia talk:Philip J. Rayment
PC, can't you write in declarative sentences instead of questions and "some say" type phrases? You realize who popularized the "some say" and innuendo approach to the "news", right? ħuman 00:07, 14 November 2008 (EST)
Why don't the Footnotes show? Proxima Centauri 03:04, 9 December 2008 (EST) I blanked the page twice and reloaded. The second time I copied unformatted into word before reloading. I hoped that would get rid of whatever tells the computer not to show the lower part of the page. It didn't work. Proxima Centauri 03:13, 9 December 2008 (EST)
- A runaway ref tag. It was something like <blockquote>lots of text<ref>some link<ref></bloackquote>. This essentially caused the remainder page to be consumed as part of a ref until a closed ref tag, which didn't exist. --Shagie 03:21, 9 December 2008 (EST)
PJR Picture[edit]
Hey does anyone here know about the actual picture of PJR? I don't remember exactly which userpage on CP it was, but I know that they were in the category of Australian Conservapedians. It was a picture of that user and PJR. --JArneal 18:28, 27 January 2009 (EST)
Found it here --JArneal 19:39, 27 January 2009 (EST)
Or http://www.conservapedia.com/File:User_meeting_PJR_PE.JPG , since the above doesn't work. Homsefar (talk) 10:21, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Resignation[edit]
So has anyone received a proper explanation for why specifically PJR resigned other than simply being fed up? Enquiring minds want to know. Stile4aly 17:05, 24 March 2009 (EDT)
- He has written about it at length here. I feel quite sorry for the guy! 129.11.77.197 09:35, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
PJR theocracy support[edit]
Last comment here. TK has burned the diff. I'm too lazy to take a screengrab right now, but the quote is:
Children are quite capable of deciding to follow God. It's not "faith" that matters, but God, and treating all religions as equal is the same as treating them as all wrong, which a government should not be doing. Philip J. Rayment 04:37, 15 February 2009 (EST)
Let's remember this when he goes bonkers on his new wiki. Dangerous governmental notions are not new to PJR. Coarb 00:59, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
- Definitely. PJR's made it clear on many occasions that a global theocracy would be just fine with him, so long as it was the right religion. I'm guessing which subset of which religion he means there. --Kels 09:42, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
If you're gonna rewrite this[edit]
At least, please, rewrite/delete the childish PCisms - the silly, short sentences that are unreferenced. Or I'll hack the crap out myself, and the results will be ugly. ħuman 03:32, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- PCisms? Short sentences? 'Scuse me, but WTH? --JJ4eI christen thee Sir Annoyz Alot 03:40, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- A lot of this article still reads as if written by a precocious four year old. Check history. Look for a user with initials "PC". Please to rewrite/overwrite all contribs. ħuman 04:23, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Most of these Conservapedia:Sysops/person articles were written by Proxima Centauri. She had a very distinctive writing style of short sentences, filled in articles with blocks of conversions from CP, as well that she would editorialise and beg the question a lot. We have just removed the worst of the writings we have never done a complete rewrite. - π
- IOW, JJ4E, I'm saying if you're gonna rewrite it - rewrite it. Ignore the crap that is there and make it teh gud snartikle. ħuman 04:35, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Mainspace?[edit]
Does this really belong in the mainspace? I can see it not being under cp:sysops anymore, but mainspace? How about as a sub file of the ASK article? ħuman 19:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I thought it was fine under sysops. It is the only reason to have an article on him. - π 11:02, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Job[edit]
Does anyone know what he actually DOES for a living? Saying he's a railway worker isn't very specific, and his WP userpage doesn't specify much more.--Star trooper man 22:33, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- He lists "Java Teacher" as his profession on his Amazon wishlist. I believe this is Ed Poor, since the items in question would seem to match Ed's tastes, and this profile belongs to a Moonie. I'm fairly sure Ed is a Moonie, but I could be wrong. --Concernedresident 22:49, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- That is nice and all, but he asked about PJR. From what I remember he is a transport planner. - π 22:52, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, apologies for that. I had two windows open and misread the question. --Concernedresident 00:00, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Mainspace move[edit]
Now that he's obviously never going back to Conservapedia, is it worth moving all this to mainspace? His CP days are becoming a fading memory, while his new site is growing rapidly hasn't dried up and blown away. Totnesmartin (talk) 20:37, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- I was about to say the same thing. I say yes and will do so soon.....unless a good reason not to is presented? Acei9 00:26, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have never thought of PJR as anything other than with Conservapedia, even his new website is basically a fork of Conservapedia. He only created it as a "I can still play without you" reaction. - π 00:31, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Nonetheless PJR has distanced himself from CP and, while an ex-sysop, is still a creationists (with a website) within his own right. Acei9 00:32, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- As much as I see the de-CP point, why bother to write about him in the mainspace? He's only barely interesting as an ex-CP sysop. ħuman 04:32, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Cept we really don't have much of a "notability" requirement. tmtoulouse 04:38, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- That's why I avoided using the word ;) ħuman 04:43, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Nonetheless, having a mainspace article on him fits within "the mission" plus we have often said we should de-CP stuff. Acei9 04:47, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose, but if it weren't for CP we wouldn't know anything about him whatsoever. PS, there's this comic on TV I thought was a sheepfucker, but it turns out he's Irish. Damn accents. ħuman 05:06, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Again though, he is his own person now with his own, hehehe "wiki" hehehhe. Acei9 05:08, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- True. How about wew do two things - keep this article as an historic document of PJR as a CP sysop, and then put all further commentary at the aWK article, which is really all about him anyway? ħuman 05:46, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

In a nutshell.......[edit]
"I disagree with you on this issue Conservative. I believe Philip is
very contentious. I have discussed things with him before, and it
seemed like it was an endless discussion after endless discussion.
After each of his posts, Philip would declare himself the victor and
say my comments were not logical or fair and therefore he is right. If
you don't continue this endless discussion with him, he declares
himself the victor also. I have seen this same pattern with others
like Andy, etc.
I don't think Philip's contention was due to lack of evidence either.
I don't think it matters what evidence you have."

Redlink[edit]
There is a redlink to PJR's WP page (supposedly) but it doesn't make any sense to me. Anybody know what's going on with the formatting? Lily Inspirate me. 14:51, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia[edit]
Has Phil got another WP account? I ask because I stumbled across this: Supt. of printing which, with his Contributions (note the railways), makes me believe that they could be the same person. Scream!! (talk) 22:16, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- "This user is not religious." Weird userbox, given the other boxen. Theory of Practice "Now we stand outcast and starving 'mid the wonders we have made." 22:23, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think that you may be correct; if not, I'd bet that they are bloody good mates. PJR is a volunteer on the Puffing Billy Railway and contributed the majority of material to the WP article until March 2007. The SoP account was created in June 2007 and since then has been the major contributor to Puffing Billy with not another peep from PJR. SoP has also contributed to community articles which are only a couple of miles away from Philip's home. It looks like PJR has restricted his eponymous account to specific creationist topics like the Expelled movie and used the SoP account for mostly train-related stuff but also the odd religious one. Does anyone know what Phil's job was in the railways? Was it related to printing timetables? ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 23:39, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
