Forum:First aid kit for people who read the comments

I read the comments section on a webpage because I'm stupid like that, now I'm ticked off and I can't stop thinking about the comments. So I think what's needed is a "first aid kit" of chill-down techniques for people who read them.

Any suggested techniques? Ru1138 (talk) 19:50, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

If possible, talk with a friend in-person about anything.
If not, cat videos. *shrug* Fuzzy. Cat. Potato! (talk/stalk) 20:17, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
I sincerely advocate punching some Nazis. Nazis need to be punched. ikanreed You probably didn't deserve that 21:02, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
And I don't. Violence-as-a-catharsis leads to some unpleasant places.--ZooGuard (talk) 21:22, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
This isn't really about catharsis, this is about stopping the inroads that ethnonationalist fascists have been making in American political debate. They're already causing harm and they need to be stopped. ikanreed You probably didn't deserve that 16:08, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
This particular thread is about how to overcome a mental state, as stated only a few lines above. So adding a suggestion to punch Nazis is either advocating violence-as-catharsis, or a derail.--ZooGuard (talk) 16:44, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Online whack-a-mole games and similar is the answer to one component of this thread.
Otherwise hit the 'random page' button on your favourite wikis till you find something interesting/which you can improve.
'Smile and make them wonder' is a useful way of dealing with nuisance people. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 18:25, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Honestly, I'm too much of a softie to punch people. Though I would gladly watch neo-Nazis go through [this]. >:) Ru1138 (talk) 03:02, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
I guess you can get away from the Internet for a while. And think of the Woman's March protests, think of all those smiling faces of people and their children. Think that these Neo-Nazis are in the minority and none of them have ever the mental capacity to make a half-decent video game. LEFTYGREENMARIO 03:12, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
