How does this further our mission? - π 03:48, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I vote put it in the funspace. But to answer your question it answers our mission because of don'tbesuchafuckingspoilsport. 04:12, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- What a bunch of fags. Why don't just cross the line and collect stamps. Fags. AceMcWicked 04:13, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Outside the pub after work. Your kidney, shivved. You wallet, filched. Your fiance, mine. Your crib, a meth lab. My coin, of the realm. Sucker. 04:18, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think we should have a namespace called fag, we can put all the anime fanboy shit that keeps appearing there as well. - π 04:22, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I was about to ask if we had a fag namespace. Brilliant suggestion. We can put your Star Wars fanboy Chewbacca Defense article there. 04:26, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I would hate to hurt you poor little ego any more but that was stolen of TvTropes before I was particularly active. - π 04:31, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't really have much of an ego. But I do have a shiv. 04:33, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- You and your fucking shiv talk. All you have been able to shiv me with is your flacid penis in my ear. AceMcWicked 04:36, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I can't see how this is any worse than some of the sections in the saloon. If your going to act like an asshole here, at least post some coins first.--Thanatos 04:40, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Saloon bar was established as a way of removing general chit chat from all over the site. - π 04:43, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

- This doesn't further our mission. We know that. Not everything on this site furthers our mission. Are we closer to our mission statement than we were a week ago? Yeah, probably. So we're heading in the right direction. This page doesn't take anything away from the mission. Further, it can't always be beer and punk/metal music, both of which I enjoy, sometimes you need something relaxing. Do not call someone a Fag if this is what they choose to do in their spare time. There is nothing inherently 'faggish' about it, really. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 11:00, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- What if what they do in their spare time is start fires with small bundles of wood? - π 11:08, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Depending on local jurisdiction, that can be a fun way of passing the time too, I suppose. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 11:13, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Can I start an article and subject everyone to pictures of my model choo-choo and my beer can collection? Puh-leeeze? Secret Squirrel 11:14, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Go for it, it seems to be all the rage. - π 11:20, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, it is referred to as "the B side". I know nearly zero about coin collecting and even I know they are called the observe and reverse sides. - π 11:23, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Silly girl, everyone knows they are called "heads" and "bums". ħuman 01:53, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- We're not exactly sure which side is which with that one, i.e. which is the obverse and which is the reverse? Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 11:36, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Things that are common, e.g Queen Lizzie's head, is the obverse right? - π 11:41, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- In most cases, yes. And, usually, the side stating the denomination is the reverse. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 12:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I find this an exercise in imagined value. Money, in any form, has no real value. The only value it has is what we give it. This is even more true with coins that are not currency. I found people auctioning off the gold cob coin, which was given out in toothpaste nearly 50 yrs ago. Coins which are no longer used are a similar story.--Thanatos 01:46, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- My favourite coin collecting fact is that the most valuable coin in the world is a 1930 Australian penny. It is a penny for fuck sake, some have sold for more than a million dollars. - π 02:29, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- I find it an interesting fact that to put a penny in circulation here in Canada, it costs three cents. In Japan, it cost two yen to put a one yen piece out there.--Thanatos 02:37, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Our smallest coin is a 5 cent coin as a result of that. It just isn't worth the cost of small currency any more. - π 02:45, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- There have been discussions of that here in Canada too.--Thanatos 02:57, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- It does work quite well. Most things are priced in terms of 10c any way. I have never paid $2.37 for a coffee it is always $2.40. The only people who use cents are supermarkets and they either have to round to the nearst 5 cents or if you pay be cards, your bank account is counted in cents. The sad truth is coins are becoming a thing of the past as the cost of eftpos machines come down. - π 03:05, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

It's not like that in Canada. Most things are #.99¢ plus a 15% sales tax.--Thanatos 03:42, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- The US is going to have to mint pennies for some time. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 10:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
The Rules[edit]
Can we all agree on the rules posted, or shall we change them?--Thanatos 20:57, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- I submit that they be changed randomly on a weekly (or random) basis.--BobNot Jim 21:00, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Post an unidentified coin with latin characters[edit]
I can't read that Chinese stuff. 01:53, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Likewise. Japanese I can pull off with the use of a guide book, and isn't as damned complicated as the Chinese. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 02:00, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- How do you feel about Russian or middle-eastern dialects?--Thanatos 02:06, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
