Chrome OS[edit]

I LOOOOOOVE Linux, but there is this OS that is only the web. It is called Chrome OS. Do you think it deserves a mention? Colbert|FanNewbie-admin 20:09, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Have to wait for it to come out? Like, it's based on Linux, so it depends on what Google does with it, exactly. Quarulint - You can't explain that! 21:00, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Question about Apple[edit]

If Linux is communism and Windows is capitalism, what Mac OS is? Fasism? I have a lot of mac user friend, they all have wacky arian like view on their computers/phones/iPods (eg. "Steve Jobs invented the first MP3 player, others are just ripoffs of iPod", "Mac OS X never crashes and don't have any viruses, the opposites are just lies created by the Microsoft. All picture you ever seen about a crashed Mac are shopped." ) ZILtoid1991 (talk) 21:25, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Linux v Windows[edit]

If my recent forays into computational chemistry and computer technology in research are anything to go by, I figure the main difference between Windows and Linux is that in Windows, the easy tasks are really really easy, but the hard tasks are really really hard. But in Linux, the easy tasks are really really hard, but the hard tasks are really really easy. So you want to mount an SD card in Windows? No problem, it's all automagic! Want to cluster a few dozen cores together? Forget it, not going to happen. Want to cluster those dozen cores in Linux? No problem! It's practical automagic! Want to mount a drive in Linux? Take the fucking afternoon off, you'll need it. I hate computers. Scarlet A.pnggnostic 11:37, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

I am going to set up my first virtual machine soon so I can run Linux and Windows 11 on the same machine. Any virtual machine software recommendations? LinuxLover (talk) 07:00, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

Why not[edit]

Make Windows 3, WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3 compulsory for such activities?

How many of 'most of us' would consider the various persons waxing serious about the subject boneheads? 86.191.20.233 (talk) 10:27, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Ubuntu vs Linux mint vs Debian vs Arch Linux vs Fedora vs Windows vs Mac[edit]

Which is best and which do you support and for what reason. (Just talk about what you like and don’t fill this topic with hate comments!)— Unsigned, by: 59.96.171.152 / talk

Windows 7?[edit]

Perhaps this article is a little dated by the various references to Windows 7 and 8?Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 09:02, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
