2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Censoring[edit]

We should probs avoid this, because he doesn't do it himself. It's no longer a parody. The FCP Foundation (talk/stalk) 22:48, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

But it's funny!-ᎠᎥamᎧndᎠᎥᎦᏣ1(talk) 23:17, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Threat modelling section[edit]

This feels weirdly disconnected with the remainder of the page. αδελφός ΓυζζγςατΡοτατο (talk/stalk) 22:48, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Yeah. I can attempt to make it funny or just remove it entirely.—HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 23:15, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
How is it now?—HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 23:40, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Seconded.-ᎠᎥamᎧndᎠᎥᎦᏣ1(talk) 06:00, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
It's almost as funny as Fun:The world as a RW talk page which you should totally read and edit.-ᎠᎥamᎧndᎠᎥᎦᏣ1(talk) 06:02, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Most of the good stuff is by me, so thanks! —HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 16:19, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Hahaha, speaking of "not taking credit" and "seeing the wiki as a team effort", eh? You little scamp, you! Th hug.gif Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:27, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Good post!HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 16:08, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Credit where credit is due[edit]

While I'd like to be able to take credit for digging up this site, it actually all belongs to user L's Ideology — he reads this stuff unironically. And while I did originally suggest we make this article, Fuzzy gets the credit for that one, too. I guess the only way I can earn my keep is by massively expanding this article. Tempting... Reverend Black Percy (talk) 17:55, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Credit? I personally am not a fan of people taking credit for something on a wiki. It's a team effort so I thank you all! Have fun on a wiki, don't make it about "street cred".Th hug.gifHamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 19:31, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Formatting[edit]

@FuzzyCatPotato With your recent edits, the about section text has two words per line on a certain browser sizes; however it does look fine when it the page is zoomed out. Apparently, the blockquotes are messing things up. What should we do about this?—HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 19:50, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

The ping feature doesn't work on RW. Also, if you want to gladden my old heart, never use <blockquote> when you could use {{quotebox|}} instead. Th hug.gif Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:26, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
br is fine. FU22YC47P07470 (talk/stalk)

This page feels so... Loud[edit]

Wow, when I first clicked on this paged, I felt like it shouted at me with all the red, bold capital letters, haha.--WMS (talk) 16:56, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

I found the next articles to annotate[edit]

https://boldanddetermined.com/unconventional-advice-for-young-men/

I learned absolutely nothing useful in college and what I did learn was downright detrimental and that is because nothing is actually taught in college. You don’t go there to learn, you go there to further your indoctrination and emasculate you even more.

https://boldanddetermined.com/the-21-rules-of-the-rich-and-how-you-can-emulate-them/

I don’t like the word passion, that’s a word for women’s romance novels, the correct word is obsession. You have to live like an obsessed freak.

https://boldanddetermined.com/what-makes-a-great-man/

Sex is the driving force that makes a man do anything. It’s always for sex. It is our biology, our DNA. There is nothing wrong with that.

Being highly sexed (i.e. having sexual energy) but not giving in to any and all desires is the key to success.

All great men of genius and power used their sex drive as fuel.

And here I was thinking that active sexual repression led to disaster? Guess I was wrong and Victor Pride has NAILED THE TRUTH once more with a FLAMING FUCKING SPARTAN JAVELIN! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 19:04, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Best quotes from "How to Pick the Right Wife"[edit]

https://boldanddetermined.com/pick-the-right-wife/

Getting married is a business decision. Marriage is a contract between two entities. You’ve got to enter into it with the ruthless mind of a determined businessman for it to work.

You’ve got to pick the right wife like a businessman picks a company to invest in. It shouldn’t be left to chance (“love”) – you’ve got to be pro-active, know what you want and then go after it.

There are only two reasons a man should ever get married:

1) He wants to start a family.

2) His career or political ambitions demand he has a wife (he is interested in going into politics). We will not talk about this except to say that a political wife is for show and show only. For this article we will assume the reader falls into the first category.

There is absolutely no other reason to ever get married. Love is not a reason to get married. When you get married you sign all your power over to your wife – it must be of some benefit for you to do so. That benefit is to grow old with your family.

Most men don’t want an “independent, empowered” woman. That’s code for bitchy slut with a chip on her shoulder.

She has to come from an intact family with original mother and father. No step-mommies and step-daddies. Children from single mommy homes cannot be healthy. A mother simply cannot raise healthy children alone or with step-daddies. You want an emotionally healthy wife. Women who grew up with divorce have too much baggage, use sluttery as a way to get attention from daddy, and will not know how to act in a proper family setting.

No woman wants to work but it takes some of them a long time to figure that out.

A big, bright shining smile from a pretty girl is worth more than any university degree she has, worth more than any job she has, worth more than any other baloney modern women wrongly believe makes them attractive to men.

men age gracefully, like a fine wine, and women age like milk.

Censoring, again[edit]

I don't think it works. It's not used elsewhere on RW (so readers might not get the joke); it's hard to do on mobile; and it's equivalent to the strikethrough 'jokes'. Oppose 'n' shit.Mʀ. Wʜɪsᴋᴇʀs, Esϙᴜɪʀᴇ (talk/stalk) 08:22, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Apparently this really bothers both me and you.[1][2]HamburgerPlate Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 00:58, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
