Can I mention [1] - which could be a suitable place for relocating people who can 'bore for the US' on such things. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 14:42, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

"impeachment inquiry"[edit]

Impeachment by press conference and closed door waterboarding isn't going to work. Time for a rewrite. nobsI'm dumbstrzok! 16:26, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

This doesn't mean anything.--RipCityLiberal (talk) 18:22, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
Bingo. "impeachment inquiry" means nothing. "Letter conveying subpoena" means nothing. nobsI'm dumbstrzok! 18:48, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
That isn't true, because the House makes the rules for how they want to pursue Impeachment. Only requirement is that articles of impeachment are recommended by the Judiciary committee and voted on by the full house.--RipCityLiberal (talk) 18:51, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

January 2021[edit]

This section will need reworking somewhat. (Possible 'slight understatement'.) Anna Livia (talk) 18:45, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

I fixed and reworded it a bit and added the bit about him being possibly barred from public office forever if impeached successfully. Needs a ref for that though, but No time just now. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 18:57, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
At the moment 'treat as placeholder' status applies. (Some variant of the 'Al Capone tried for tax evasion' manoeuvre may be used). Anna Livia (talk) 19:12, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

The problem is - Trump is guilty of 'incitement to violence and encouraging disruptive behaviour' but 'weapon of impeachment' is the only tool available against him (while any legislation to handle such activities probably could not be made retroactive - the Brian Haw situation - without causing another protest by DT's supporters).
