Talk:NSA
This is mildly interesting - but I'm not sure why we have it. Are they perhaps involved in some conspiracy theories or something of that nature?--BobSpring is sprung! 18:07, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's the NSA, of course they'll be involved in something. But the instant we find out what it is, Trent will die horribly in mysterious but entirely plausible, natural, and non-suspicious circumstances.

- The article was there already; I have some knowledge of the place, so I decided to improve it. MDB (talk) 18:13, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- I understand that MDB. It's not a criticism of you. :-) I was just wondering why we have it. I guess there is some mission relevant stuff which could be added - I just don't see any or know of any.--BobSpring is sprung! 18:16, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- I must say that a google search on "NSA conspiracy" (without quotes) gets an impressive number of hits.--BobSpring is sprung! 18:19, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

- If there is an identifiable word pattern, you can suggest a new abuse filter rule at the Technical support page.--ZooGuard (talk) 09:58, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- Just add an edit filter for unconfirmed/patrolled editors using the word "waifu". Щєазєюіδ

- Or block any IP that resolves to a location inside the M25. BAM! Problem solved. On second thought, that doesn't cast a wide enough net. Also block all the berks in Berkshire. But not Somerset. I like Somerset. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 14:26, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Thank you all for your input. I've gone ahead and restricted editing to autoconfirmed users for one year. I know that goes a bit further than any of you suggested, but I really didn't want to wait around for somebody to write a filter. Rand0 (talk) 07:06, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Commented out in article[edit]
The following was in a comment at the end of the top section, I am moving it here.
[This was repeated all over the place in conspiracy theory circles. Can we get a mainstream source and rephrase?] In February 2014, a portion of the documents leaked by Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald established the the NSA in particular and the US intelligence community in general are willing to resort to political false flags and intimidation in business dealings to ruin companies and political organizations they deem uncooperative or undesirable, bringing the political policing dreams embodied by Joe McCarthy and COINTELPRO
into the digital age.

Idea: Create 'redacted' article section[edit]
Perhaps, for humorous effect, create a new article topic or subtopic that is 'redacted', that is set the background-color and foreground-color to black. Yes? No? Thoughts? Comments? Philosophical rebuttals. MardukSonOfEa (talk) 20:53, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
