A [citation needed] on all of this[edit]
I'm sure most people outside of the US consider them to be illiterate rednecks. 99.235.89.240 (talk) 04:34, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Yea we kind of do, the whole guns don't kill people, people kill people is a phrase I think is retarded yea sure that might be true but having a gun makes it easier to do. I don't need a handgun in my nightstand to feel safe in fact I feel much safer with the laws and restrictions we have on guns. --Sammygirl (talk) 07:37, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, as a gun owner, the NRA are cranks, but they are far less cranky than GOA or the other extreme groups. When I'm going to the range to shoot my ancient revolver I can tell the NRA types as they tend to have AR-15s, Glocks, Sigs and such. The GOA guys have silencers, SMGs, and in one memorable case a WWI Vickers Heavy Machine gun. ТyrannisAn iron, but caring, fist 13:49, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Dude what weapons they have means nothing. I would like a suppressed PPQ but I am far from the GOA/NRA. — Unsigned, by: Betrix5068 / talk / contribs (signed by bot) 08:21, 05 April 2013 (UTC)
New York and the NRA[edit]
Is this a version of the Al Capone tax evasion manoeuvre? Anna Livia (talk) 20:06, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Not really. Al Capone was convicted of tax evasion, when they really wanted to get him on his gang-related crimes. The NRA is a registered non-profit, so they have to obey the laws of incorporated non-profit organizations. Bongolian (talk) 20:12, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- In the sense of 'getting' them by a non-direct route. Anna Livia (talk) 08:49, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think it's a case of "getting" them or not, unless you are partisan enough to overlook for silly political reasons what sounds like (if the accusations hold up) massive abuse of a non-profit structure. Soundwave106 (talk) 13:02, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- The NRA uses their interpretation of the Second Amendment to justify their actions - so you legally take action against them by means where the Constitution is silent. Anna Livia (talk) 18
