Silver?[edit]
Aside from some direct links in the text and some sourcing issues, are there any major problems with this article? Cømяade FυzzчCαтPøтαтø (talk/stalk) 20:58, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- It's got the content for a cover article. As you note, it needs polishing and so forth. I wouldn't nominate it for cover, but a polish and a few days' review should make it silverable. The text could probably do with coherency review too (i.e. whenever I've dived in I've gotten lost) - David Gerard (talk) 12:37, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- Krom did an insane job on this article. We should get it to Silver for now, then look forward towards Gold. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 15:35, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
- Bump. This article is destined to reach front page. We need only make it so (improving the article I mean; not just adding the gold brain just yet). Reverend Black Percy (talk) 02:09, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- ohhh okay go on silver it - David Gerard (talk) 11:34, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Black athletic superiority[edit]
We need to cover this too, it's in the air again for the Olympics. Anyone know a pile about it? - David Gerard (talk) 11:44, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Something something TOW? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 12:49, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- yeah, that's a good place to start on a crib. I vaguely recall claims from ~100 years ago that whites were the ones with natural athletic superiority, but can't source them - David Gerard (talk) 13:50, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Nearly all of them use drugs, so I don't think there's any real athletic superiority anymore. Even those athletes not using banned drugs, use legal "performance enhancing" drugs. There are virtually no exceptions.Schizophrenic (talk) 18:24, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, Schiz. But the perceptions that "blacks slay basketball", "whites can't hops", "Asians fail sports" must go. Mʀ. Wʜɪsᴋᴇʀs, Esϙᴜɪʀᴇ (talk/stalk) 18:37, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- I added a bit to the article, both cliches and science. There's some evidence that genetic factors make those of west African origin likely to be good at sprinting, but that's about the only case (and "west African" is not the same as "black"). East African prowess at long-distance running probably has cultural and environmental causes. Older theories could certainly be added, as could refutations of claims that blacks can't swim, etc; you could write a lot about this - maybe a separate article. - One time a few years ago I visited some sort of wildlife centre or miniature zoo with my parents & a guide there was telling us that monkeys won't go near running water because rivers in their natural habitat usually contain crocodiles. He then immediately went on to say that "that's also why negroes are no good at swimming even though they're so much fitter & better than us at every other kind of athletics." - Did you know that particular tour guide is also on YouTube? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 00:31, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
