Biphobia?[edit]

This page seems to suffer from Bi-Erasure / Biphobia. I realize much of article is written in jest (and it is funny) and likely unintentional. Ultimately, Haggard has (more or less) come out as Bi which means he genuinely isn't gay. I suppose a simple (if inelegant) fix would be to replace the "definitely isn't gay" jokes with "definitely isn't LGBT". Billyoffland (talk) 17:32, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

from the article: "in one of his completely heterosexual interviews, Haggard admitted that if he were 21 in today's society, he would identify as bisexual." So to suggest the article suffers from Bi erasure when it doesn't is clearly a case of reading-the-whole0article-erasure. Boredatwork (talk) 17:55, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Making fun of gay people[edit]

Laughing at a gay in this situation seems OK since it is a hypocritical gay. But, just thinking a bit more, it sounds much less justified. Richard Ryan, professor of psychology at the University of Rochester, said: “We laugh at or make fun of such blatant hypocrisy, but in a real way, these people may often themselves be victims of repression and experience exaggerated feelings of threat. Homophobia is not a laughing matter.”[1]

The silliness, it burns (not really)[edit]

Reading through this article, the RW userbase has gone out of its way to include some line saying "He's not gay" or a variation thereof into every freaking paragraph at minimum.

Forgive me for not being an expert on the subject, but were Haggard's denials of homosexuality that vehement? I know, I know, there'a an Internet law named after the dude, but I still wonder about the exact *extent* of ol' Father Ted's denials of taking it from behind.

Plus, I'm a lazy twat who can't be assed to look it up. :-P -174.85.216.120 (talk) 05:58, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's for the sake of a joke and how Haggard constantly tries to deny he's gay (the article is similar to how Richard Spencer's article has it keep denying he's a Nazi, but it's less egregious). I removed the majority of the "not gay" jabs. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png 🎄LeftyGreenMario!🎄 18:35, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
