Countering zombies[edit]

They are never found near vampires. — Unsigned, by: 212.85.6.26 / talk / contribs 18:04, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

In the factual accounts of Laurell K Hamilton , Anita Blake , a resident of St Lois, regularly has zombies and vampires together. A small flamethrower is a good method of disposing of pesky zombies Hamster (talk)

Zombie Holocaust[edit]

Admittedly I don't know much about zombie films, but it seems a lot like the phrase "Zombie Holocaust" is being misused here. It's the title of one specific zombie move, & that's the only context I've ever heard in, + Googling the phrase only brings up stuff about that one film. But here we seem to be saying it's the name of a whole genre, including films like Night of the Living Dead which predate it by a decade. Can anyone vouch for this? As cheesy as it sounds, I have always been a fan of the term Zombocalypse. I am reminded of my deployment to Iraq, wherein I and most of my platoon ran contrary to the weekly bible study offered by the chaplain by running a weekly zombie survival class, using Max Brook's The Zombie Survival Guide as the study guide and the XBox 360 game Dead Rising as a simulator. Good times. Good times. The hardest part of an actual Zombie Apocalypse will be pretending that I am not excited. The Foxhole Atheist (talk) 18:59, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Night of the Living Dead was released in 1968 while the movie you are talking about was I believe in the 1980's--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 18:22, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
This discussion you're replying to is a zombie; as it's been dead for almost six years. Carpetsmoker (talk) 18:24, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

Keeping zombies at bay[edit]

Create a vampire/werewolf haven.

Zombies and vampires (or werewolves/other werebeasts if preferred) are never seen together (movies etc).

Vampires and werewolves tend to be rational: zombies are not (but 'zombies' will get more points than 'vampire' in Scrabble).

"Vampires and werewolves tend to be rational"? I would like to know how you reached that conclusion. - Gameboy (talk) 01:08, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Duplicate article[edit]

I see that this and Zombie cover the same subject - though not really the same ground.--BobSpring is sprung! 13:42, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

US Army ZOCOM[edit]

This is probably more of a thing for a funspace article, but there's a facebook page for US Army Zombie Combat Command (ZOCOM).

It's tongue in cheek for the most part but it's taking off and gaining a lot of steam. Soldiers have been fabricating DA Form 4187's (Personnel Action) for reassignment to ZOCOM, of which at least one has claimed to actually have turned it in to his colonel for signature. Someone has even drafted FM 999-3; Counter-Zombie Operations at the Fire Team Level.

According to the facebook page, civilian applications are being accepted and training will be provided through the US Army Reserve and National Guard channels.

I LOL'ed. The Foxhole Atheist (talk) 01:02, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

You may find this to be enjoyable :) Тyeh? 01:41, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

the CDC[edit]

the CDC has started using the popularity of the zombie apocalypse to get people prepared for other events that are more likely to occur (tornado, pandemic, hurricane etc.). Here's the website http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombies.htm --Sammygirl (talk) 20:52, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

already known--il'Dictator Mikal 20:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
and you all say Obama didn't do anything. He's getting us prepared for Zombees! (actually, i'm surprized the right hasn't attacked him for this).--Green mowse.pngGodotWhen I graduated, Cognative Science of Religion didn't even exist! now it's everywhere 21:48, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Education, even in its most humorous and tongue-in-cheek forms, is still education. -- Seth Peck (talk) 21:52, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Don't get me wrong, i think it's wonderful. I was just surprized some right wing blow hard hasn't come out saying "obama is so out of touch, and wasts so much money, he wants to make a departement for being prepared for zombees" or some such.--Green mowse.pngGodotWhen I graduated, Cognative Science of Religion didn't even exist! now it's everywhere 21:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
I watched a documentary about zombies (I do not remember the name of it) but several people on this show were claiming the "zombie" attacks in Florida back in 2012 were cases of real zombies plus I remember one 2012 doomsday theory was a zombie apocalypse. While a zombie plague could be possible the thing is, I do not think they would be walking corpses. If anything it would be more like 28 Days Later but the incubation period would be longer than 20 seconds (but the movie is good though). On that note, why not do a page on the epidemiology of a zombie infection (I mean a tongue-in-cheek thing where it would have information on the spread of a pandemic but use zombies as an example).--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 14:24, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
