Template talk:Sysop pledge
Yeah, thanks for the fixing the "retard", Ames, I usually sub in fucktard, just to not offend the developmentally disabled. Moron is better, as it is self-referential, so less "dumb". Dumbass would have worked, too. Maybe the word itself should be a template and we'll randomly change it?

Grammar[edit]
Shouldn't it be "nor will do" at the end? Генгисmarauding 13:46, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- "...there is nothing I can or will do" - I think that's ok - read as "there is nothing I can or will do". I guess it could be " there is nothing I can, nor will, do"
- I think it would benefit from using a smaller (75px) version of the image: it takes a (subjective) age to load on my slow connection for something of its size. (Toast) and marmalade 14:32, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- It's not because of the "original" image size. The MW software resizes the image before serving it up. Load the pledge, right click on the image and select "view image", you'll see it's a 75px version of it. ħuman 15:03, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- Might it be The actual mediawiki/server combo that's causing it? I just loaded it again and watched the picture load downward to a count of 1.. 2.. 3.. and a bit. (Toast) and marmalade 15:28, 29 January 2009 (EST)

- I believe nor should only be used in conjunction with neither. So if you wanted to phrase it as "There is neither anything I will do, nor anything I can do" that's an option, but I think it reads fine as is. Stile4aly 15:08, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- Neither:nor; either:or. Neither tea or coffee. Not neither tea nor coffee. The more I reiterate it the worse it gets but it reads right to me now. (Toast) and marmalade 15:28, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Is there a reason for the "Is that all?" (apparently it isn't) and the "er"? Reads a bit contrived to me. Also, as for "...we will make a formal report to the mob...", has that ever actually happened? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:19, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- It's rather tongue in cheek - let's not change it too much, since many people use it. Also, many people have made their own versions. As far as reporting to the mob, sure it happens, but when it does, no one notices ;) ħuman 16:43, 29 January 2009 (EST)
- Oh, yeah, the "is that all?" is essentially a rhetorical question to the reader, meaning "is there anything else I should pledge?" ħuman 16:44, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Just noticed the CP link on this (while listening to the vid on P-Foster's page), as half the world is just gonna get a 403 & we're supposed to be de-CPing anhow, should it be removed? -Scream!! (talk) 01:46, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
