Whats your definition of fundamentalism? 24.141.169.255 00:31, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- A "literal-minded or intolerant philosophy with pretense of being the sole source of objective truth" taken from wikipedia article Bohdan 00:34, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- What aspect of atheism relies on "literal" interpretation? How does atheism fit in with the fact that fundamentalism is in opposition to secularism? What universal doctrine is required to adhere too? What ceremony or book encapsulates atheistic fundamentalism? 24.141.169.255 00:36, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- "Fundamentalism" is a religious perspective that takes its "holy book(s)" as the literal truth. Hence, it has no parallel in "atheism". By the way, are we "atheists" such a threat to your faith? Surely, we are a very small minority, and beaten on, at that. Whereas, Christians are a huge majority in the West, and yet, claim to be ostracized, marginalized martyrs. Something that just came to my mind...[edit]
I don't think I asked you that one, but my memory's somewhat garbled right now (I really need a vacation), so please excuse me if I accidentally poke you again.
Just an idle question I ask sysops for bad word removed and giggles as I encounter them: Did TK consult with you prior to my July 13 ban? He claimed that the majority of sysops agreed with his decision to ban me (prior to him banning me), but neither Ed nor Geo were willing to tell me whether or not TK had actually contacted them (or whether they agreed). So, how about you? I just wanna know if you're part of the silent majority. If you don't wish to reply, that's fine. You wouldn't be the first one. --Sid 14:30, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- You didn't ask me, and no, I was in no way involved with the decision. But that doesn't mean that the majority weren't. Bohdan 19:54, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. And by now, the silent majority is either very silent or consists of fairly obscure sysops (compared to you, Rob, Geo, Ed, etc). :P --Sid 20:11, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Ken/Conservative[edit]
What would convince you?
Right now, we got...
- They shared IPs
- They both make up new names on a regular basis (Conservative, Creationist, Newton, David Jensen vs. Ken DeMyer, timothy44, LeCamus, kdbuffalo, moses's_bulldog, Creationist)
- They both engage in quote-mining
- They both share the exactly same interests (YEC, disproving evolution, etc.)
- They both use the same style of debating
- Ken copy-pasted Conservative's quote-mine article (or Conservative copy-pasted Ken's) at least about astronomy
- Conservative invited Robert Turkel - Ken started his article on Wikipedia and was one of the main contributors
A major coincidence, I am sure.
Let's try a new approach (based on this wonderful comment - I just made a better permalink to a post and chose different example of the CP/CW connection):
- Conservative (CP) is Creationist (CreationWiki) as per "Conservapedia" and "A small request" here
- kdbuffalo is Creationist (CreationWiki) as per here
- And this discussion covers the kdbuffalo/Ken link. Okay, and the part I mentioned on Newton's talk page (now archived) where both kdbuffalo and Ken DeMyer post the exactly same quotemine with exactly the same title, based on Creationist's CW article.
So we have Ken = kdbuffalo = Creationist = Conservative. --Sid 19:41, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

CP maintenance[edit]
Since you're around fairly often, could you clean up TK's mess? His decision that Almost Every Word in a Title Needs a Capital Letter Because That is American Style is causing a complete mess (such as the recent decision that "Homo sapiens" is of course written "Homo Sapiens" and that "human" is a proper noun - which I'm sure will make CP look like a highly educational resource), but more importantly, it's creating tons of Double Redirects (the list is actually growing as I write this).
Could you fix them, please? I'd do it myself, but I'm banned, and I think some of those articles are protected, anyway. Besides, fixing TK's double redirects got fairly sad results in the past, so I'm not to eager to again engage the one guy who can even shove around other sysops as he likes. --Sid 06:41, 18 August 2007 (CDT)

- My guess is "silent takeover". At least, PJR reverted TK's edit that turned "human" into a proper noun. Let's see if TK retaliates to defend his edit...
- Oh, and there are two redirects that broke when Ed deleted those articles. --Sid 11:27, 18 August 2007 (CDT)
- Heck, I don't even capitalize "human" and I are one. Is, I mean. That Homo sapiens article is embarrassing. The genus is stilled uncapped in the photo caption. One thing workin' on a wiki reminds me (and us all, I'm sure) is how there is no way to ever be "always right". A lesson that is opaque to Mr. K.? — Unsigned, by: human / talk / contribs

<---Actually TK isn't much of a threat to newer users as he's busy consolidating his pwer and keeping other sysops in line. Oh, sure he'll get the odd range block in here and there, but mainly he's concerned with keeping the admins orthodox.St. CЯacke® 14:05, 21 August 2007 (CDT)
- There are enough things wrong with TK's behavior that should have led to his ban months ago. The fact that he was instead promoted to sysop and went on to effectively become second-in-command boggles the mind.
- I think that even with Martinez's baseball glossary copy-paste-orgy, TK has the most copy-pasted contribs from copyrighted sources. And when he's caught (like just yesterday about the NAS articles), there is denial, rewording, blocking of the ones who point it out, and claiming that it's all completely legal and within the rules.
- Then there is the overall hostility, the blocking of most IP that posts here, pushing his nonsense rules, blocking people for violating rules that don't even exist yet, and and and.
- I can't prove that he dried up attracting new talent (How would you prove that?), but I would love to see you showing how he attracts talent - most people don't even last long enough to show talent! (Heck, look at that Porthos guy. He became a victim of the TK/Ed tag team and is now heading towards a 1-week block fooor... pointing out that TK copied and for trying to clarify that the NAS is not a government agency - and he works for the Institute of Medicine, which is part of the NAS. I bet he'll be highly motivated to edit now!) They get banned the moment they point out an obvious mess-up!
- However, I can understand why you defend TK. It's the same reason why Ed sides with TK 99.9% of the time: Terry is way up in the pecking order (because sysops like you let him get there), and when you edit on CP, it pays off to be on TK's good side. So I won't push this issue unless you want links or whatever. But if you really need links, take a closer look at "Best of CP" and "What's going on" - tons of those entries are related to TK. --Sid 14:14, 21 August 2007 (CDT)
- I could care less about the CP "pecking order". I don't understand how I let him get way up on this supposed "pecking order", he was a sysop for weeks before I ever started editing at CP. Bohdan
- It's less you personally, but the sysops overall. TK didn't suddenly seize power, he chipped off bits little by little, and enough people got banned trying to alert others. The sysops and Andy simply watched TK having his way again and again because he is a sysop and thus a "trusted top editor". Few sysops rarely tried to protest, but even they were stonewalled because Andy chose not to intervene.
- And you should care about the pecking order - it may very well mean that the next time you tell a user that it's okay to change a few categories or something, TK will go all "Bohdan, send me a mail. We here at CP communicate about such major things, okay?" on your talk page, even though he somehow never has to ask anybody about anything (although he regularly claims that he solicited opinions... he just won't tell anybody who he asked). TK has more power and more say than any other sysop, and that does influence you. I just can't help it if you deny it because you don't feel horribly oppressed right now. I can only suggest that you watch him with open eyes. Then you might understand what we're talking about. --Sid 14:42, 21 August 2007 (CDT)
- Like I said before, I am more of an obscure CP sysop. I don't really want to get involved with the controversies, I'd rather edit. Bohdan

- I've tried talking to him before, but I just can't do it. He's impossible. Bohdan
- What, did you have a bad experience with an eye as a child? Oh, and just a word of advice, don't ever tell me to keep an eye on someone, cause, well, I'll literally keep an eye on them. Locke Always Watching...... 01:01, 26 August 2007 (CDT)
- Hey, B, can you read Russian? (I know, the language of the imperialist conquerors) On a mailing list I'm on a guy asked: "I need someone who can read Russian. Someone has given me what looks like a lottery ticket, but I am not really sure what it is . . . I've taken digital pix front and back, and I'll e-mail them. I'd like to know exactly what this is." If you want to help, I'll either share your emails with each other, tell him to post the images here, or act as intermediary. Thankies! humanbe in 02:23, 26 August 2007 (CDT)
