2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Gloria Thomas Sam was the baby daughter of Thomas and Manju Sam. She died of eczema, due to her parent's decision to rely on homeopathy rather than seek proper medical care for her.[1]

Gloria died aged nine months after spending more than half her life with eczema. The skin condition wore down her natural defenses and left her completely vulnerable when she developed an eye infection that killed her within days.[2]

Both of her parents were sentenced to ten years in prison; her father, who was himself a homeopath, received a heavier sentence as he was deemed to have a double duty of care.[1]
