Talk:Atheophobia
"In Britain..."[edit]
"In Britain atheists have been refused promotion" I was gonna put a {{fact}} tag on this but thiught it better to stick it here. 18:17, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Bronze?[edit]
I doubt it. Where is the discussion? What qualifies it? ħuman 04:07, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
nitpick[edit]
A lot of these examples of phobia appear to pertain more to organized atheist groups than to people that choose not to treat their atheism as an attribute.--User:Brxbrx/sig 01:53, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- In other words, if you don't want bullied you should shut the fuck up. d hominem 12:05, 16 June 2012 (UTC)::
- That, yes. Atheist "evangelical" groups take more heat than, say, Mormon groups. It isn't really what I meant, but I can't remember what I meant. --User:Brxbrx/sig 02:04, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Probably your usual ultra accommodationist BS. ArchieGoodwin (talk) 02:05, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Etymology[edit]
Did we make this word up? Only 6700 Google hits, and we're #1. Theory of Practice "Now we stand outcast and starving 'mid the wonders we have made." 05:13, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Alex Jones[edit]
Alex Jones should be removed from this list, he has explicitly said he doesn't have a problem with atheists several times. 1 time was on Louder with Crowder. — Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs
Distrust[edit]
"Whereas discrimination against gays, for example, tends to arise from disgust, atheists are distrusted in a fashion similar to criminals such as rapists."
Isn't prejudice of rapists also arisen from disgust? --It's-a me, 🎄LeftyGreenMario!🎄 18:01, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
What about the old "the new religion is atheist" trope?[edit]
Romans used to accuse Christians of being "atheists" (which they sort of were, when it came to Zeus or Mithras) Evil Zionist (talk) 01:49, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Evil Zionist Yes, you’re absolutely right.
“”We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever imagined. Some of us just go one god further.

Comment[edit]
This is so wrong. You can't go around changing the meaning of words. Atheophobia literally means "without fear of god", and not "fear of atheism/atheists". An atheophobe is literally one without without fear of god, so synonymous to an atheist. — Unsigned, by: 87.202.90.169 / talk / contribs
Obama[edit]
No admitted or confirmed atheist has ever been President of the United States, although some wingnut racists have claimed that Obama is an atheist
I'm a two-time Obama voter and an atheist and I do think he's actually an atheist which was a contributing factor in my support for his candidacy. I guess it's possible I'm a wingnut racist but it's also possible that Obama used his 'Christianity' for tactical reasons (ie. "No admitted or confirmed atheist has ever been President of the United States,") 57.135.233.22 (talk) 22:13, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
