Unwelcome[edit]
Please stop creating articles like the one on Eminem.--JorisEnter (talk) 10:39, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Time to put a zipper on the chit-chat[edit]
Ok dude, so your edits thus far have left a lot to be reasonably desired — primarily that you don't break the pages you edit and that you not be such an offended little pipsqueak.
The very edit box for all pages (article and talk alike) clearly states: If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here.
You don't own the articles you create here. You don't own the original writing you submit here. You own nothing. In fact, by submitting anything at all (even a reply to this post), you grant legal permission for anyone to do what they like with it (under the CC-BY-SA 3.0).
Please consider these facts before getting so personally involved as to lash out at our best and brightest for doing what had to be done.
Change your conduct immediately, and with good contributions and good tone, you will be welcomed as an equal. If you don't however; reap what you harvest. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 11:21, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Help me[edit]
Okay guys, please learn me how to edit. Sorry for my shitty Eminem page and my edits. I would love to learn about this site. SOmeone, please just provide a way to talk and tell me what I can and can't do on this site (and learn me something about editing)
I would love to make edits for this site, but that's not gonna work if you guys just keep blocking me and calling me an idiot.— Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs 11:45, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hello. That's the spirit!
- Let's turn that {{unwelcome}} template you got currently into a well-deserved {{welcome}} template with some elbow grease, no? :)
- First things first: I think you owe Joris an apology. You don't have to be squirming in the dust, but just retracting that comment you made would go a long way to showing your sincerity. And I guarantee you that Joris didn't delete the Eminem pages to spite you; he's a good guy. He'll accept your apology. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 11:47, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- Secondly, you HAVE to learn how to sign your talkpage posts. See how it says Reverend Black Percy after my post here just above?
- On talk pages, please sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the sign button: on the toolbar above the edit panel. You can also indent successive talk page comments using one more colon (:) for each line. Thank you. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 11:50, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Someone, please tell me what was wrong with my Eminem page. --GreatPerson (talk) 11:52, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- [EC] The main problem is that Eminem doesn't seem all that relevant to our mission - at least, not from the content of the pages you wrote. I'd recommend you to read all the pages linked in the welcome template at the top of this page very carefully, so as to get a bit of an understanding of the workings of RW.--JorisEnter (talk) 11:53, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for signing your post! One step in the right direction. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 12:03, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Deleteminem?[edit]
Regarding your Eminem page(s); we could reconsider it, don't worry. But you have to let that page go for just a few hours now. Why?
Well, one thing you should learn right now is that this is a wiki, not an FPS shooter. This don't have to happen instantly. And before we will review your Eminem page(s), and any potential future Eminem page (which isn't out of the question), you NEED to do the following reading FIRST. Ok Champ?
Please read, in full, the following pages (they will help you get closer to your goals here!);
- The RationalWiki Newcomer's Guide
- Our Community Standards
- "What is a RationalWiki article?"
- Our Manual of Style
- Learn the phrases we use (consult when needed)
Please, please do not just glaze over the above four links; read them top to bottom (except the DysLexicon, just keep that one handy). Report back when you've done this, which should take a minimum of 30 minutes. Good luck.
For more help articles, see here. Thank you. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 12:03, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, that's great.
- I have my (unfinished) Eminem page still saved in a .txt file, by the way.--GreatPerson (talk) 12:05, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- That's wonderful! Here, I've set you up with a sandbox. You may paste your Eminem .txt in there and work on it as much or little as you like. A sandbox is not considered a mainspace article, but rather it is considered an extension of your userpage. And according to our community standards (see link above), only you are allowed to edit your user page.
- In the sandbox, you're free to work on your Eminem article, and other people can comment on the talkpage for your sandbox (note that that talkpage isn't under your control). No guarantee that it will ever be considered good enough to be moved into mainspace. But there's no inherent reason it couldn't be made good enough. That's up to you, and how closely you stick to the guides given above. Good luck — and if you haven't done so already, apologize to Joris. If you don't, you're kind of a dick. All the best, Reverend Black Percy (talk) 12:11, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, that's great. I have no idea how to put a quote below a picture. Do you know how I could do that?--GreatPerson (talk) 12:16, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- The best way to learn what you want to do is to look at articles where the thing you want done is already in place. Read around on the site until you find such an image, then press the edit button to see the "code". Based on that, you should be able to copy things back over to your own sandbox, and in that sandbox, use the Show preview button a lot (while testing things) until you can make it work. Just make sure you're actually changing your sandbox, and not the mainspace articles, or people will lose it. Thank you. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 12:19, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Okay, fuck this shit, it's way too fucking difficult.--GreatPerson (talk) 12:31, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- The "apologizing for being a dick" part, or the "reading 1% of a regular length book's worth of help material on how to edit pages" part? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:06, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- [EC] Reading up on it is not difficult, you just need to take the time to actually do it. Either a quick look around would bring you to this help page where everything is explained in detail. Or you just open the source code of any article like mentioned by RBP to see how it's done in practice. ∈ NameThatNobodyTakes (✎) 13:10, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Conservapedia is fucking extreme[edit]
I've just visited some Conservapedia pages and they are even more extreme than I expected. I saw people having serious discussions on whether or not America should CRIMINALIZE homosexuality, they are anti contraception, pro-abstinence education and of course they are anti-abortion. They also seem to have A LOOOOOT of fucking pages on homosexuality, it's just pathetic. Btw, they're page on the Iraq War doesn't even explicitly condemn the war. Oh, and they are pro mandated classroom prayer. — Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs

- Seems about right. I'm watching him. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 11:47, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Steven Frauder[edit]
I can't believe the page on Steven Crowder is so small.
Btw can I please be out of vandalism bin or whatever? I can only edit every 30 minutes? Can I do something to change this? ~~
- You can take your case to the chicken coop. Cheers,RoninMacbeth (talk) 23:11, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- Make your currently limited edits count, to the point where we'd be at loss for not letting you edit faster than that. Your unbinning will make itself come about at that point. Best of luck! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 01:14, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
"Black people commit more crimes than any other race"[edit]
Do you have a citation for that? And is it still true if you correct for other variables such as wealth? Even if it were true, why have you put it on your user page? What are you implying? Christopher (talk) 14:06, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

- @Christopher
- "Do you have a citation for that?"
- FBI Crime statistics
- "And is it still true if you correct for other variables such as wealth?"
- Black people commit crime in pretty much every country.
- "Even if it were true, why have you put it on your user page? What are you implying?"
- Idk. — Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs
- @Christopher If you are impaling that he is racist for saying something then just say it or put forth anything to disprove him.
- @GreatPerson The same for you to, but you're not wrong. Lack of wealth does not justify crime, but needing to steal food. At the end of day we are all just animals.--2d4chanfag (talk) 12:37, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not really talking about stealing food and drug crimes. Rape and murder are my biggest concerns. And I don't see how a lack of wealth makes you rape someone. — Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs
- As has already been said #Sign your articles#.
- As a white Brit I find your statement offensive, racist, and from what I read in the newspapers probably wrong.
- From what I observe in the news(papers) most, if not all, of the gun massacres in the US are by white men.
- And on what grounds do you call yourself 'Great Person'? 86.191.127.41 (talk) 14:05, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- Moronic points, even if I were wrong, it would not be "racist" to state that black people commit more crime. And as far as your cherrypicked specific crime, mass shootings, goes. White people are STILL underrepresented. While males commit 64% of mass shootings. So they're slightly underrepresented.

Let's talk about rape and murder statistics, let's see how that goes. GreatPerson (talk) 15:15, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- @2d4chanfag Very true, about us being animals. Nothing wrong with that of course, but we are. And regarding food (in that context) — it's like some biologist once said (I forget who)... And I paraphrase: "The difference between civilized society and complete anarchy is 48 hours without food." Reverend Black Percy (talk) 14:48, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- What is moronic about being asked to sign your articles? Or someone finding your statement offensive?
- And, last time I did percentages, 64% is an over representation (persons of other genders, races etc making up only 36% of the statistics). 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:06, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

"Lack of wealth doesn't justify crime" it certainly doesn't. What I'm saying is white people who are just as poor probably have similar crime statistics. Christopher (talk) 17:18, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
(Reset) The statement on your talk page is considered racist (where are the statistics?), you insult Brits - if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ... 31.51.114.75 (talk) 10:22, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- He did say FBI statistics [1] Here, have a go at it.--2d4chanfag (talk) 13:50, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- But, apart from two categories #whites are responsible for a lot more in a range of categories of crimes# - and as a total - so the remark as it is is false/appears racist. 31.51.114.75 (talk) 14:36, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but, if you look at population size [2] math does not lie. --2d4chanfag (talk) 14:54, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Black people in the US overall commit more crime. That is a fact. But if Greatperson is inferring that if they were brought up similarly, had similar incomes etc they would still commit more crimes he would be wrong. I don't know what (s)he is inferring so I can't comment further. Christopher (talk) 15:44, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- There seem to be two different tables - the one I (and others) see has #far fewer# arrests in most categories for blacks than whites. Just change the comment. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 16:33, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Christopher It's a well-known fact that poor and uneducated people commit more crime. Poor people act poor, in other words. This is as true everywhere. The converse is also true of rich and educated people. Well-employed architects rarely stick people up in dank alleys. Both of these sides to the same socioeconomics are global, spanning cultural factors. Biology per se doesn't enter into it, obviously. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 16:44, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- That was exactly what I was saying. I suspect GreatPerson is implying black people are inferior. If (s)he isn't I don't know why it was put there. Christopher (talk) 17:04, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it. The guy isn't exactly offering a meaningful analysis here. He'll tell you that something as utterly general as the racial group of the majority of criminals says everything you need to know about said racial group. But switch "black people" for "men" in all his arguments and watch him suddenly 180 on the validity of his own inferences. Suddenly, the same basic argument is "much too general". And this despite the statistics being far more straightforward in terms of men committing basically all crime (as opposed to blacks). And here I thought GreatPerson was so into villifying incredibly diverse and varied groups of human beings based on a single metric? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 18:02, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Another point[edit]
What precisely is meant by 'America'? The USA? The two continents and the join? 82.44.143.26 (talk) 18:19, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
- It almost certainly means the USA. To most people they're the same thing. Christopher (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
- But the definition will affect the statistics. (If referring to 'both the American continents' is Central America automatically included, or does it have to be specifically so mentioned - rather like the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man and British legislation, or the putative Berwick upon Tweed-USSR peace treaty.) 82.44.143.26 (talk) 19:37, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
