Talk:Autism Uncensored
Fucking hell[edit]
Just what the actual fuck this is horrifying ⏣sapient_cogbag⏣ talk 00:01, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, it is. I wrote about it in the hopes that it will educate people. Maybe someday things like this will be in the past and all autistic people will be treated with human decency. Luna Rose I'm shy; say hi 19:00, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
Concerns re. article[edit]
This article relies very heavily on the analysis, via Twitter, of Kaelan Rhywiol, an activist with <5000 followers. Having checked out the #ElmoMum tag, it appears the WaPo excerpt inspired a small but vicious Twitter dogpile around Feb./March 2018, and a number of angry blog posts from autism activists.
I'm unable to find any similar criticism from any major autism advocacy organisation, or any wider press coverage of the kind you'd expect for a mother chronicling apparently obvious abusive behaviour towards her own son. Consequently, I'm most reminded of crank ME/CFS activists throwing a shitfit when someone dares suggest ME/CFS might have a non-physiological component, etc. Helena Bonham Carter (talk) 20:05, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- I think this is different tho, since this is a response to obvious abuse. I don't see how your concern is warranted. — Oxyaena Harass 20:10, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- According to a handful of activists and Twitter users. That's not a great evidence base for calling someone a child abuser. Helena Bonham Carter (talk) 21:49, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
What the fuck is wrong with the woman who wrote this book?[edit]
I seriously cannot wrap my mind around this nightmare of this book. --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 18:44, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
