Remarkable technological feat[edit]
"In a remarkable technological feat" should read "In a remarkable oversight by the Martians, who had previously shot down other probes", surely?
- They ignore the probes that are headed for unpopulated areas (as due the Venusians). humanbe in 12:00, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
No one's mentioned the canals that them there Martians built as well. ŠтΈṜȳŁЁand...? 12:02, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
- There is, in fact, a conspiracy between the United States government and the Martians. The Martians have been promised huge grain shipments if they leave the rovers alone. This is a dangerous strategy, as the last US president to secretly negotiate with the Martians (JFK) was assassinated by them in revenge for ...well something conspiracy related.--Bob_M (talk) 12:06, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Atmosphere of Mars[edit]
"The atmosphere on Mars consists mostly of carbon dioxide...it's cold as hell...The average temperature on Mars is -46° C" Oh look, teh smoking gun! This disproves global warming!!!111!!!! Secret Squirrel 11:45, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
- No, no, that's natural CO2. That's the good stuff. It's the CO2 that comes from mankind's SUVs and developed world factories (Chinese factories excluded) that cause global warming. Mega 11:50, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
Mars Pareidolia Club[edit]
...was intended to be some kind of joke with Mars Anomaly Research, hence the capitalisation. --ZooGuard (talk) 10:20, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh well. Maybe obvious joke was not obvious? ħuman 10:24, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Jeff Wayne[edit]
I hear that the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one. Does anyone have any evidence to back up this claim? — Unsigned, by: 193.130.130.105 / talk / contribs
Martian probes[edit]
1) There is a local sentient species called 'Bars.' They picked up a radio program on 'Deep fried Mars Bars' and decided to take the threat seriously, until they finally built a TV receive and realised this 'delicacy' was the same as their 'deep fried Earth Bars.' Unfortunately they were picking up from London TV transmitters and cannot manage the switchover yet - so expect more fried Mars probes. 2) Assuming there is life on Mars of the 'bacteria and lichen varieties' mostly underground and similar to those found on Earth (search under 'bacteria deep in rocks'): how soon after terraforming of Mars begins will 'Save the Martian wildlife' groups emerge on Earth - or do the creatures have to be 'cuddly with appealing eyes' to be the focus of attention? 82.198.250.2 (talk) 15:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Nothing about Curiosity[edit]
Curiosity has provided a lot of valuable scientific information about Mars' geologic and atmospheric past, something this article could definitely use in an update. I might write some in when I get the time Beatgroover (talk) 20:26, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Men[edit]
Where did you get that men section? Ahahah
Gianga23 (talk) 19:29, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- That is (I suppose) a joke based on the book "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus".--Bob"I think you'll find it's more complicated than that." 19:57, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
