The final sentence in the word salad article is:

  • Word salad generators are something commonly written by beginning programmers for the sake of amusement or to get around spam filters on emails when sending ads that guarantee your penis will be four feet long if you buy some pills from an unlicensed vendor.

Is the irony deliberate?--Weirdstuff (talk) 14:40, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Word salads are also sometimes written to get around spam filters on emails when sending ads that guarantee your penis will be enormous if you buy some pills from an unlicensed vendor. I think that improved the article.

*New Age Bullshit Generator Computer generated word salad sprinkled with New Age jargon I also think this link was relevant. Proxima Centauri (talk) 08:10, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Distinction[edit]

If 'various forms of free association and mindmapping etc are excluded' a distinction should be made between 'issues associated with the brain having problems' and 'person with a theory at a wide angle to reality, who has picked up, magpie-like, some words associated with the topic and starts using them in ways of their own making.' Not formally word salad[edit]

Should mention be made of 'Lorem ipsum' and 'Markovian parallax denigrate' - the latter surely deserves some RW mention as being the first known example of 'whatever it was' (but no real conspiracy theory). Anna Livia (talk) 11:02, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Postmodernism generator[edit]

Should this be mentioned? Anna Livia (talk) 18:06, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
