"Osaka Sun"[edit]

It's from a Coldplay song???????????? Sam Tally-ho! 02:38, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes. Now observe as I get shunned from the wiki for being a sexless, "Radiohead-hating" wimp. Osaka Sun (talk) 02:54, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
I for one won't shun you — I love Coldplay. I wasn't familiar with the song, though. Sam Tally-ho! 03:31, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Wait, so I can come out now? :P Osaka Sun (talk) 05:33, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
But I hate Coldplay and Radiohead. Gimme Eric Dolphy any time. SophieWilder 18:52, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Crisis in Canada[edit]

I like how the only news I've read in a long while about Canada has to do with a maple syrup heist and how Canada has a "global strategic reserve" of the stuff. For some reason I feel like this is about as hardcore as crime gets up there. Sam Tally-ho! 17:25, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

We need our fucking maple syrup. Just as important to the national psyche as Tim Hortons. Osaka Sun (talk) 18:16, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Disgraceful[edit]

I qwould like to point out that a) I am drunk and b) my edits were fucking hilarious and in speirtiy of the site. Restore them at once while making them coherent! 213.137.6.29 (talk) 00:04, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Nomination[edit]

I enjoy your edits and think you represent the a good, calm part of the wiki. Therefore, I've nominated you! Man of Perspective (talk) 08:14, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Busy currently IRL. In the future, maybe. Osaka Sun (talk) 08:16, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Clogs[edit]

As I understand it, to qualify for Clogs the item in question needs to be from a blog. News articles from mainstream publications go in Wigo World, unless there is a very compelling reason to put them in Clogs. --DamoHi 08:11, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

No, we've had tabloid articles etc. in there before, when they fit the clogosphere pattern (i.e. wingnut opinion pieces). Plus things like YouTube vids & Twitter comments, etc. Maybe the page intro needs to be rephrased. WėąṣėḷőįďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 12:40, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
An article describing the antics of some wingnut goes in World, an article by a wingnut goes in Clogs; Right? --DamoHi 23:23, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
I would agree with Damo; ordinary news articles in WIGO:World, blog posts or op-ed pieces in WIGO:Blogs or WIGO:Clogs, news articles from crank sites in WIGO:Clogs. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 00:17, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

To do list suggestions[edit]

Where did you archive the suggestions you removed? SophieWilder 10:03, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Previous suggestions were archived by HeidelbergKid here. If you mean trimming the "New articles" list, you can see in the Fossil Record that they were never archived. Osaka Sun (talk) 10:37, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
ah, Ok. I'm just so used to the archive all the things policy that I er, um, something. SophieWilder 20:28, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

You beat me to it![edit]

I was all ready to WIGO that xkcd, and you beat me to it! *cartoonish pout* Wehpudicabok (talk) 11:28, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

The @rationalwiki Twitter[edit]

Were you running this? Would you be amenable to me having the keys too? I've got a feed for it on the new blog and I'd like the blog to autopost to it, and I'd like being able to post anything else of importance that springs to my mind, if that's amenable to your intentions for it - David Gerard (talk) 15:50, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

If you don't like an idea...[edit]

Vote it down. Write a smart criticism. But voiding it out is just silly. Just like New York City; Just like Jericho. 22:16, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

We could be in all-out war within days[edit]

Would you like to place a wager? I got a hundred dollars that says there will not be an all-out war in the next week. Did he doubt/Or did he try? 02:38, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Read about Kaesong's importance to the region, then get back to me. Osaka Sun (talk) 02:43, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Still got that hunny. Wanna bet? Did he doubt/Or did he try? 02:44, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
I would, but how are we going to send the cash? Osaka Sun (talk) 02:51, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Paypal, or Interac e-mail transfer if you're Canadian. Did he doubt/Or did he try? 02:54, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
We are already two days into the week-long duration of the terms of the bet. Are you in, or what? Did he doubt/Or did he try? 15:23, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
In retrospect, I'd rather not bet on the possibility of people dying. You can laugh at me if nothing happens by the 10th, but it just feels kind of dirty now. Osaka Sun (talk) 15:38, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

besides all that stuff in the block message...[edit]

I wanted to bet on war NOT HAPPENING. How would that make me a cheering section FOR war? Did he doubt/Or did he try? 04:00, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Mr. Spaceman, won't you please take me along, I won't do anything wrong....[edit]

Looks like your boy Garneau was made of fail. Get used to Conservative majorities for the next 10 years. If the thunder don't get you/Then the lightning will. 00:01, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Garneau quit a few weeks ago, so today was purely symbolic. I don't think Harper will last through 2015 anyways, the scandals are going to hurt sooner or later.
But prepare for two crazy years in Canadian politics. Osaka Sun (talk) 00:25, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
I missed Garneau's dropping out -- I was out of the country for a month. Still, I don't think the NDP or the Grits will pick up enough seats to form a government next time out. If the thunder don't get you/Then the lightning will. 00:35, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Race =/= Ethnicity[edit]

It's not really useful to link the two concepts together without dealing with the crucial differences between the two. If I knew the way/I would take you home. 17:34, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

I know, but I think the article does much to explain that. Osaka Sun (talk) 17:35, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Check this out.[edit]

Linking to WP is generally frowned upon. Either write the relevant section of the Churchill article with enough background, or leave it out. If you can't make your point without relying on Wikipedia, that's probably a good sign that the point you're trying to make isn't really missional. Thanks. PowderSmokeAndLeather: Say something once, why say it again?.Moderator 01:20, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Varies per article. c.f. 101 Evidences, which only works because of the WP links - David Gerard (talk) 11:35, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Is there a reason[edit]

Is there a reason you protected this page without the source from the CDC? Because if you're trying to stop an edit war, protecting the revision that the edit warriors want is only going to encourage them. A Real Libertarian (talk) 23:22, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

It is generally more productive to discuss what should be edited on the talk page of an article than to waste everybody's time edit-warring. Nullahnung (talk) 23:27, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, but what can you do when one side refuses to discus and just reverts? A Real Libertarian (talk) 23:35, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
I don't have all the solutions, but here's what I do:
Be polite and be persistent, eventually you will get some answers. Nullahnung (talk) 23:47, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that does eventually work.
It's just frustrating, dealing with those that refuse to debate evidence.A Real Libertarian (talk) 23:50, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
If the CDC's findings are exactly as you interpret them, it would be quite a story; the fact that it hasn't either suggests a grand anti-male conspiracy... or you're full of crap.
Go to the talk page, that's why it exists. Osaka Sun (talk) 23:56, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
