Devil's in the details

Frank Amedia is a televangelist, founder of Touch Heaven Ministries. He was Donald Trump's "liaison for Christian policy".[1] He claims to be able to control natural events and has a history of involvement in shady business practices and bribery.[2][3] He appears on Jim Bakker's wingnut television show as a religious Trump shill, claiming, for example, that God is using Trump to sweep clean the federal judiciary.[4] He also runs a webshite called POTUS Shield, an incoherent "shield and weapon of spiritual force" that highlights the worst of evangelical Trumpism.

Amedia is a former Jew who received religious training from a Miami, Florida, pastor associated with the controversial New Apostolic Reformation, a group of people who proclaim themselves to be modern-day prophets and apostles and want to turn the United States into a theocracy.[1]

We would give food to the needy in the short term, but if they refused to give up voodoo, I'm not sure we would continue to support them in the long term because we wouldn't want to perpetuate that practice. We equate it with witchcraft, which is contrary to the Gospel.
—Frank Amedia shows his true colors[5]

Touch Heaven Ministries is a Christian ministry based in Canfield, Ohio, that is run by Amedia and his wife.[6][5] Touch Heaven traveled to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake to assist in disaster recovery, proselytize, and foment religious discord.

False prophet[edit]

Thousands of wondrous records of miraculous testimonies of healings, deliverances, re-creative miracles, and physical gifts follow him wherever he goes…
—from Frank Almedia's now-deleted biography on his ministry's website[7]

Amedia claims that he single-handedly stopped a tsunami from striking an island in Hawaii using his apostolic powers.[8] He is also a faith healer who claims to have cured cancer with the power of prayer.[9] In March 2018 on Christian television network TCT, he claimed that he brought an ant back to life by talking to God.[10]

Homophobia[edit]

Amedia is a homophobe who claims that AIDS "is a disease that comes because of unnatural sex" and that God saves people from homosexuality and disease.[11][12]

Trump shill[edit]

I perceive that this timing is critical and strategic as I have been advising that I have received that February is a time of chaos in our nation politically, with flash points on the coasts and in the heartland, as well as the caution of the "ides of March" looming which will try to swallow up the spiritual surge of progress and pierce the heart of our political and church reformation.
—Frank Amedia, Trump God Warrior[13]
Now that is a caravan of cuckoo crazy.
—Joe.My.God on the creation of POTUS Shield[14]

During the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, Amedia served as a volunteer "liaison for Christian policy" for Donald Trump.[1] In this role, he was responsible for arranging meetings between the Republican presidential candidate and conservative religious leaders. After the election, he created POTUS Shield, an incoherent webshite to glorify Trump. POTUS Shield declares that Trump's election victory is a "divine mandate" and provides "a shield and weapon of spiritual force."[13] Most of the content of this site is rambling pseudo-Christian extreme right wing political blather and prayers to protect Trump against a "storm" of conspiracies driven by "evil forces" and "witches and warlocks."[15]

POTUS Shield was a complete bust and is now simply an advertisement for Amedia's YouTube ranting. Its Facebook presence is equally barren, having only about a thousand followers and occasional posts consisting mostly of advertising for Amedia's Ohio church.[16]
