Woody Guthrie | Result: Deleted[edit]
Delete[edit]
- This article doesn't appear to be the least bit missional, and indeed appears to be generally encyclopedic. It provides no original research either, it's just a very poor alternative to his TOW article. The type of article we don't write here. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 15:17, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Article currently has zero missionality, and is unlikely to acquire such.--JorisEnter (talk) 17:17, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

- Woody is a hero of the progressive movement. Deleting him would be an insult to all true progressives. Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 15:39, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not questioning that; I'm questioning the missionality of the article on him. And it's just a short encyclopedic entry - precisely the ones we do not do. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 15:42, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Huge troublemaker against the forces of bullshit, so relevant. Article could do with improvement of course. In its present state I wouldn't object to moving it to funspace, though I do think there's missional stuff to add - David Gerard (talk) 15:44, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- I would also argue that, unless the article actually becomes "rationalwikified" and starts covering him as a "huge troublemaker against the forces of bullshit" in the way that we cover relevant people, it may be necessary to move the article to funspace. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 15:54, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

- If the guy is genuinely missional it might be kept, but the current article has close to zero missionality (other than perhaps the McCartyist bit).--JorisEnter (talk) 17:31, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Yep... and even that portion is just an unsourced mention. Besides, countless unmissional figures were blacklisted too. The missionality of the current article is truly 0. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 17:39, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Interesting story about Guthrie and "big copyright". Carpetsmoker (talk) 17:15, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- I wrote this back in
the Bronze Agewhen RW was still an anti-Conservapedia site. It was to show them that there could be such a thing as a left-wing Christian (Guthrie being one I happened to know something about). I doubt that anybody at CP ever read it, let alone got its point. So, as a stick to hit CP with, it probably failed, and certainly doesn't serve that purpose now. Bicyclewheel 08:02, 14 July 2016 (UTC)- Does that count as a vote for deletion?--JorisEnter (talk) 08:25, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
