IMPORTANT etc.[edit]
Are sysops not allowed to delete pages with >x revisions? If so I approve the removal of that section. If not, maybe the warning is BEANSish. Not sure what's going on here? Did someone do some magic to stop us from deleting pages with huge revisions? ħuman 02:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
bigdelete[edit]
According to the list of user rights, "bigdelete" looks like a bureaucrat-level and up skill. Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 02:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- (EC)As I said, I'm pretty sure Nx took that off sysops after he and Trent did the whole "will people stop saying sysops are harmless because that's not right" thing. There are a couple of actions that can serious cause trouble for the database so they were taken away from sysops not so long ago. I suppose the warning might be okay, it depends if you can still bork the wiki without having the bigdelete power (i.e., just under the limit where it would apply). sshole 02:02, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- OK, so sysops can't delete pages with >x edits? What is x? I can definitely see the BEANS reason for removing the section, especially if sysops can't really delete bigpages. ħuman 02:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well, if we figure out x, then putting a mention of it may be worth it. sshole 02:07, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- According to my algebraic training, x=200. I seem to remember seeing that somewhere. Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 02:10, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, 2000 revisions, here. Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 02:11, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think in reality we can delete that section. What we tend to delete are crappy stubs. Any moron who edits a page with thousands of edits will get what they deserve (naked pictures of me via email). Sorry for the undos and the muckin' about. ħuman 02:17, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is better to be sure than to mistakenly remove something potentially important. That's why they make talk pages (well, that and ripping each other to shreds on occasion). Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 02:19, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- I rolledback to the deleted version. Thanks for playing :) Perhaps we could rewrite that section a bit to reflect what AN seems to be saying? ħuman 02:20, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Patrolling[edit]
"This allows a wiki's sysops to mark edits they have vetted, so other sysops know they aren't wandalism." I understand that fully, but what I don't understand is how one can mark an unpatrolled edit as "patrolled". I know this sounds very n00by, but when I look at unpatrolled edits by clicking on them and checking the history I see no option to tick a box that says "This edit meets our standards" or "This edit has been patrolled". Could someone please edit this to make it clear on how to mark an edit as patrolled?Several ingredients (talk) 06:23, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- For edits, click the (diff) on Recent Changes, and it's on the right hand side. For new pages, it's on the very right-bottom corner of the page. EXTERMINATE 06:26, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- (EC)It's right under the diff details. Try clicking on the diff link, and then use your browser's search function to find the phrase "patrolled". ħuman 06:27, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

- If we were to start over, what would it be? A maturity thing? Consensus? "Meritocracy"? Something entirely different? What?--Colonel Sanders (talk) 14:41, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't think many new users are going to be using the monobook skin somehow. And what did/does the capture button do? Peter horas non numero nisi serenas 23:12, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism or for reals?[edit]
I'm taken aback by reviewing the site's about section and draconian guidelines. Intimidation warning to dox my IP address is juxtaposed with deleting my comments? My IP address is for blocking purposes only. You post up my IP address and say I left an offensive comment. Trust us! Yes I said this and declare me a suppressive person. — Unsigned, by: 75.83.54.115 / talk / contribs 17:16, 19 October 2017
