This picture[edit]

Would it be on mission to add this pic to the page? Someone put this on his wikipedia page a few days ago. Thought it was funny. Arcadium Trancefer (talk) 16:14, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

We have a snarky point of view, so yes. Vee (talk) 16:17, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

"It has been argued on TV Tropes that this distrust and fear of being cucked is a root cause of misogyny."[edit]

So says a note, which references a passage on a TV Tropes article claiming:

Some theories have touted the fear of Cuckoldry as the Greater-Scope Villain that controls every single form of misogyny. Women can carry and give birth to their children, and men can't; thus, before the Daddy DNA Test was invented (which means, for more than 99.9% of humankind's existence), the only way to be certain of paternity was to avoid cuckoldry at all costs. This is why cuckoldry is seen as the ultimate insult for a man and the ultimate triumph for his nemesis. And thus, women are reduced to objects valued solely for their domesticity, virginity, and purity. Many societies saw this as a fair trade-off: in their view, the woman's certainty over the maternity of her children is a privilege and power she holds over men, so men are "entitled" to other forms of power to compensate.

It's perhaps tangential to Andrew Tate, but what I want to know is, how true is this argument? No citation is provided, so I have no idea if this a capital-T theory explored by academics or someone making an educated guess about the roots of misogyny. DietMondrian (talk) 20:45, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Not exactly in these terms, but Googling, I did run into this review [1] based on this book [2] that do suggest a link between fear of cuckolding / fear of cuckolding and and a desire to control female reproductive choice, to the point where some link it to domestic violence itself. This is supported here by a professor David Buss [3] and a few other places like here (which quotes from a book by Steven Pinker ("Better Angles of our Nature")). Such, if not quite the TV Tropes quote, suggests where the *cough* "trope" came from.
Note however that these opinions aren't without controversy by any means -- an article here non-scientifically called Buss's explanation "mansplaining", and some evidence seems to suggest that the picture is more complicated than these theories (as true cuckolding is rare by one report and some claims from the field seem to have failed verification when others tested it). Plus, the field where these claims reside ("evolutionary psychology") has some detractors by and large who seem to think much of the field is a load of bunk.
As this paper describes, I think the above descriptions are only partial at best explanation for the manosphere (and by extension Tate). The term hegemonic masculinity is used in that paper to describe the overall theme, and it fits: the whole framework is not just to support mating and reproduction, but to place women as "commodities" that are completely subordinate to men; in addition, women are seen by this group as deceptive, immoral, and untrustworthy (and of course it's all women who supposedly are this way for some reason), which perhaps relates to fear of cuckolding, but might also reflect more fear of loss of social status or just plain ol' hateful misogyny for all I know. Such can be demonstrated by the manosphere community that has little to do with sex at all, yet is very much obsessed with social hierarchy and patriarchy: the incel community. Gender essentialism and the evolutionary psychology type explanations such as the above are used in order to justify their world view, but my "initial pass" view is that is only a tangential exercise in many respects. DADDY (Daddy Tate) and Coffeezilla investigation[edit]

Should info on Tate's crypto DADDY (I'm cringing just typing this) and the Coffeezilla investigation be included? Tavantius (talk) 12:52, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

I mean why not? It’s also ironic how he was previously against crypto.

International Chess Master Emory Take was master of tactics, chess shark...[edit]

Andrew Tate father lived by sword died by sword... at one strong Ggrand Master tournament because of his style he beat 4 GMs, lost to 4GMs.

It is interesting to note, he died at chess board, so did GM Bagirov in 2000, most likely they hat draw at least, but because of stupid USCF (they are disaster, disrespected many fin echess players including: reshevsky, fein, fischer, steriev, etc...) rules, last game counts as loss, WOW WOW WOW, HOW LOW CAN USCF GO!!!? — Unsigned, by: J.Ibarra-Jans EX FIANCEE / talk / contribs

This is rationalwiki not Wikipedia, while Wikipedia would list the father as he is notable for wikipedia, we don't list parents who are not missional just because the parents are notable for wikipedia. Lavalizard101 (talk) 19:11, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

bruv party[edit]

this not in anyway a serious stab at a run for prime minister. its not even a political party - its not registered anywhere, it exists only as a half arsed 'manifesto'. its trolling pure and simple amplified by space karen. its only been discussed because news media and the entirety of the twitter userbase have a pathological inability to not feed trolls (twitter having been created to exploit this common human failing). and even then just barely discussed. because its obvious trolling AMassiveGay (talk) 19:31, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Fair point, I've relocated the section into "online grifting" and removed the references to it I'd put in the list of political parties. Flange (talk) 20:57, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
