Talk:Andrew Tate/Archive1
This article[edit]
-looks nearly done despite being abandoned by its op. I think it should be moved to mainspace.
- I did not abandon. SBA was giving assistance while I was dealing with my depression. Now that I feel better, I wanted to edit this article only to find out that the entire AT&T IP RANGE is blocked. Now that I am back I will be finishing this article for your request. 2600:387:9:9:0:0:0:57 (talk) 01:07, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
Conversion to Islam[edit]
I've seen on Reddit that apparently Andrew Tate has converted to Islam. Given that Islam has a mile-wide misogynistic streak, I can't see this being anything good for the women in his life. --Luigifan18 (talk) 01:19, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I don't buy the pizza thing[edit]
Seems like the only sources are tweets. Christopher (talk) 16:36, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- Two news sources call it likely (Business Insider)[1] or possible (Independent).[2] The Independent story includes a video of him ranting taking delivery of two videos. It wouldn't have taken a lot of sleuthing for the police to contact the pizzerias about recent orders, or if they already knew about Tate's residence(s), it would have been confirmation that he was home. Bongolian (talk) 16:48, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- it would not be the first time something like this has happened. there are plenty of tales of people being undone with evidence of crimes posted on their facebook pageAMassiveGay (talk) 17:42, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
It's digital journalism speculation, not confirmed 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 20:57, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- After looking into it, Romanian authorities already said the pizza box had nothing to do with them going out https://www.reuters.com/world/romania-detains-ex-kickboxer-andrew-tate-human-trafficking-case-2022-12-30/ 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 20:59, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
LGM, some media outlets did assert the pizza box theory merely than just speculate, eg https://nypost.com/2022/12/30/andrew-tate-arrested-by-pizza-box-and-more-slice-scofflaws/ 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 21:19, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oh but that's New York Post, a disreputable media outlet. The article is just a souped up summary of a Twitter dispute. That's still speculation. --It's-a me,

- I don't see how it being disreputable means that media did not assert such. Given it is mainstream media, and RW is not for Twitter drama but partially for criticizing how the media handles even the worst of people. 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 21:30, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

- Whatever, it's not super important, I dislike the media almost as much as Tate tho 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 22:03, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- That you're linking click-bait, BoN. Arcadium Trancefer (talk) 22:16, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- The question was whether or not to criticize some media for yes, asserting, an elaborate false narrative about a former child star and climate activist being crucially related to an arrest involving potential human trafficking. The fact that they did it with clickbait is a random factoid irrelevant to the broader argument. It's almost a tautology that if someone is banal enough to report twitter rumors as fact they are unprincipled enough to use clickbait. 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk)
- I don't think we have to document what exact clickbait site has to say about something. Again, it's still gussied enough as speculation. A lot of media sites do just crib off Twitter posts and cobble some sloppy news article about them, but in the end of the day, summarizing it as "speculation" with a few sources is okay. No need to say much else except emphasize what actually happened. --It's-a me,

Not all Twitter sources are disreputable. In a lot of cases, social media covers things the mainstream media is more reluctant to cover (police brutality, anything that makes the state and capital look bad etc). It depends on the user in question IMHO. "90% of everything is crap," and mainstream media outlets are no different. Sure the Times is generally reputable as a source, but it still is ultimately biased in favor of corporate and establishment viewpoints. There seems to be this kind of opinion that because something is centrist that means it's a reputable source, no it just means it's biased in favor of the status quo. Tate's webcam thing seems much more scammy than his affiliate thing[edit]
If anyone can figure out if it's still going on, what it is, and victims of it. The media only hints at it but says it lures men into fake relationships. Read like 2 dozen articles on Tate's dropshipping/investing thing, and yes while it's scammy, it's a snowflake in a blizzard of similar affiliate programs and the dropshipping thing appears to be legal and not 100% scammy like his webcam thing is reported to be. 2600:4040:403C:F300:C679:ABD4:F7F5:32B7 (talk) 23:28, 30 December 2022 (UTC) affiliate
