Tehre is a meme[edit]

...that all those who divide humans into 'the saved' and 'the damned' tend to place themselves into the former category; does this apply here? Anna Livia (talk) 17:24, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Third positionism?[edit]

Should we consider this to be a fucked up, mutant form of third positionism? Carthage (talk) 16:50, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

I guess you could. Far right rebrands to pose themselves as the real moderates are a dime a dozen, though. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 17:34, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

Book on Elite Human Capital[edit]

In this interview with Richard Hanania [1] he says he writing a book Elite Human Capital. It might be worth mentioning. 134.122.105.133 (talk) 00:40, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Writing a book is not the same as publishing a book. It's not worth mentioning till it's published. Bongolian (talk) 06:06, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Bad article?[edit]

I'm not sure this topic is noteworthy, so I'd be in favour of deletion. A few random tweets and blog posts by Hanania and Karlin which could easily be covered on their respective pages. The article also seems to focus on IQ despite Hanania arguing that "elite human capital" is more about idealism/culture than IQ [2]. Half of the tweets cited unironically are just troll posts by Hanania/Karlin, so why are we giving credence to this? Debunky (talk) 00:08, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

For the record, I'm personally against the recent edit. I'm no vegan, but rabid n anti-veganism is missional. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 00:10, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
If you want to revert me, go ahead. I just think Karlins anti veganism should be covered on his page since it appears to have very little to do with the "EHC" topic. Am I wrong? Debunky (talk) 00:13, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
No, you're actually right, it should be on his page. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 00:15, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
Alright, sounds good. Debunky (talk) 00:16, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
The anti-veganism is connected to EHC, this part of the removed text explained it, "Karlin's anti-veganism appears to be linked to his extension of the EHC concept to non-human animals. According to Karlin, only animals with higher cognitive ability as measured by neurons can experience suffering and pain therefore he argues animals of the lowest intelligence such as insects, crustaceans and small mammals can be killed for food. In fact, he has argued almost every animal can be slaughtered with notable exception of pigs and dogs. In September 2023, Karlin disturbingly stated he has no ethical objection to killing certain animals for entertainment ("laughing watching them die in comical ways") if they have a low amount of neurons". 208.115.205.21 (talk) 00:40, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
Karlin also promotes the carnivore diet and eats rabbits [3] 167.71.160.123 (talk) 00:53, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
I don't see any evidence he spoke of "elite human capital" regarding meat consumption though. Karlin has posted a few tweets about IQ and meat consumption. But the "EHC" concept seems to describe something quite distinct, involving idealism and influence. The "EHC" idea doesn't just mean "high IQ", according to its proponents. Just shift the vegan content to the Karlin page. Debunky (talk) 01:19, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
