Godwin's law in action[edit]

Can be found here.

And how does 'the first person who mentions Hitler (or any of the other usual suspects) out of context automatically loses the argument' relate to Godwin's Law? Anna Livia (talk) 17:04, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Actually Hitler was not an Atheist[edit]

He called Atheists foolish and said he will only be a Roman Catholic. 2003:C3:3741:1600:2D51:F5F8:EB4C:D4B1 (talk) 21:55, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

evil nazi things[edit]

going out on a limb and say no one the slightest of fucks about most of the things mentioned. its not informative in any useful way and is mostly arse AMassiveGay (talk) 02:07, 3 July 2021 (UTC)

More evil Nazi things[edit]

@Rational Dude The problem with putting Iran in this list with the other entries without giving an explanation is that it is not like the others in the list. The others were endorsed by the Nazis. But under that Shah, there was mutual admiration. That is what the Blum citation made clear. The problem was not Blum as a citation, but putting Iran in the same category as the other entries. Bongolian (talk) 00:25, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

@Bongolian But there is some legitimate evidence to suggest hitler and the Nazis did have some reverence for Iran, which somewhat makes it a good candidate to add. I’m not denying that the shah was pro nazi, but the Nazis themselves also had some admiration for Iranians as “aryans” and endorsed Iran in some aspects. Rational Dude (talk) 02:05, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
And therefore, Iran at that time was more like Italy, rather than a fallacious Nazi analogy. Bongolian (talk) 02:22, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Should I add it back but find a better source and give a good explanation if I may? I personally think the list itself is flawed because the opinions on so many of these topics varied among the Nazis, and there wasn’t a singular coherent opinion amongst the party, not even with Hitler (he appealed to Christians to get them to join his effort, but he was said to despise Christianity in private. Rational Dude (talk) 02:29, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
I think User:AMassiveGay is correct in the previous section. I plan to go through the whole page again in more detail soon. I think whatever is in that section that does not have a citation of someone applying the fallacy, should be removed. Bongolian (talk) 03:09, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Understood. Should I remove the list and move it to a draft or funspace page or something? Rational Dude (talk) 15:46, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Funspace sounds good to me. --Luigifan18 (talk) 16:52, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Alright. @Bongolian may I please remove the list and move it to a funspace page or a similar page for the time being? Rational Dude (talk) 17:48, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Let me read over the whole page in detail first, OK? I'll get to it within a couple of days. Bongolian (talk) 18:04, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Sure, take your time. Rational Dude (talk) 18:39, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────@Rational Dude, in rereading the page I think that the "Evil Nazi things" is largely appropriate in so far it follows the first definition of Nazi analogies, "Reductio ad Hitlerum". I'll take a look at it in more detail shortly and make sure citations match claims. Bongolian (talk) 03:45, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Alright, but I’m still convinced on adding Iran because of the Nazis (and Hitler’s) views on Aryanism.
OK, but you need to have two elements for that: 1) something that Hitler or other Nazis supported or opposed. 2) Some person or organization that has the opposite view primarily because of Hitler or the Nazis. The 'examples' that I removed only gave evidence for the first element. Bongolian (talk) 19:13, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

mahmoud abbas[edit]

he certainly reminds me of hitler: both have a hatred of jews, both hate lgbtq, and both hate america. certainly nazilike to me… — Unsigned, by: 2607:fb90:398f:9952:b496:a003:f6:e309 / talk

That's insufficient. Take a look at the definitions of fascism here: Fascism#Attempts at definition. Bongolian (talk) 07:08, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
he fits the definition though. he is as fascistic as hitler was. — Unsigned, by: 2607:fb90:398f:9952:b496:a003:f6:e309 / talk
I'm not entirely sure you have understood the point of the article.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 11:00, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
