Do psychopaths kill themselves?[edit]

He clearly killed himself. Think he was messed up for other reasons, probably psych drugs and prison history 2600:4040:403C:F300:158D:5D23:6A6A:BEAA (talk) 03:11, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

I used to know a suicidal sociopath, so I'd say yes. Vee (talk) 04:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
There's a difference btw sociopath and psychopath, the article currently states psychopath, so changing it to sociopath. 2600:4040:403C:F300:38E8:59E3:589F:75FE (talk) 13:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Actually I have no idea what his mental health issues are. There is a rumor on Kiwifarms he had malignant narcissism, but I cannot find the medical records to confirm or deny. Removing that sentence until better clarification. 2600:4040:403C:F300:38E8:59E3:589F:75FE (talk) 13:24, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
There is (small) evidence he did not have a genetic related empathy disorder, as his mother recalls him crying at sad movies as a child. https://archive.ph/bHeGG 2600:4040:403C:F300:38E8:59E3:589F:75FE (talk) 13:33, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Is all the stuff on Nathan Larson's early life necessary?[edit]

I mean, there's only one source with quite a heavy conflict of interest, and it doesn't seem all that relevant to this article (aside from perhaps an attempt at drawing sympathy towards Larson?) I don't really think it is needed. Plutocow (talk) 15:48, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

The reason for adding it is there's been multiple "crime youtubers " people who've attempted HOURS long documentaries of Larson. They are not non-notable, one documentary-length one has HALF A MILLION views just in one month. Another has 300k views. Given they have no idea how to browse webarchives, it's all garbage and has no reference to anything substantial. For example, one just reads off his political manifesto for 2 hours, propagating his views instead of building a picture of who he is. I only care about adding information to wikis about people where there is a bias (however noble or not) to hide info like early life history. If you want to hide it all to reduce the full picture an individual who already vilified himself that's up to you, there's a plethora of other wikis to add it to. 17:06, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
He's approached the level of crime celebrity. Not that he deserves it or whatever, but that means if I don't dig up this shit, someone else if going to dig through all this stuff at some point, most likely 10 or 20 years from now and so just getting a head start 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 17:08, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Added more "he says" rather than stating things as fact, as the source is not reliable for things beyond "he says", except for those statements of his for which there are criminal or mental health records 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 17:15, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Also a lot of people need to come to terms with the fact that our justice system is built to create crime, create shows, and enrich those people running the system. The only way to stop it is to stop crime in general is to figure out as best as possible how criminals arrived at their positions and tendencies. This is standard criminology and not at all controversial in professional circles2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 17:25, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Delete the early life stuff or make it very short at most, as per Plutocow. Also, refer to him as Larson, not Nathan. Bongolian (talk) 17:50, 24 October 2022 (UTC) Creating excuses for Larson's behavior is not a reasonable way to demonstrate your point "that our justice system is built to create crime…" Larson's is an exceptional case, and one case is just an anecdote. Bongolian (talk) 17:55, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
You are not a referendum on whether Nathan's early life history stays on the internet or not, or whether people call him by his first or last name. Get your big ego out of your ass like nathan should have 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 18:31, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
If it gets removed it goes on another wiki, and one that actually gets views 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 18:32, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Wikis are creative commons efforts they are not fiefdoms for terminal narcissists like you and Larson 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 18:40, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Please put it on the other wiki then. Bongolian (talk) 18:58, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Anyway, given Bongolian decided to go the fiefdom route, no one is born a monster. Even psycopaths have rallied successfully for the mental health system to treat them with dignity for being a humans. IF HE WAS a psycopath instead of a sociopath, that would be reflected in a brain scan, not armchair theorizing . That's the only source on half of Larson's life, of which multiple youtubers are creating hours long documentaries about. If Nathan describing in detail his degeneracy is "too sympathetic" then someone who knew him should write this. If someone actually knows 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 19:02, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
One thing the documentarians need are actual medical records. Someone on Kiwifarms linked one of them once, but the link is now deleted 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 19:08, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
As I said above, if you want to put evidence of causation, you need to cite a reliable source. Larson is not a reliable source. Bongolian (talk) 19:11, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
The documentarians are mostly describing him as some 'fallen-from-grace' political giant, when the reality is he was a non-notable politician who used at least one crime (his emailing the SS) to ratchet up his own notoriety and spread his views. If people absolutely must make documentaries on him seen by millions, they need to get actual medical records which would have some semblence of information about what some of his root issues were besides his gross pedophilia 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 19:14, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
We also do not know if his pedophilia was as a result of his first imprisonment or not. As I can find no reliable sources or even self-reported sources that he had any of these feelings before his first imprisonmnet. It's possible he did, but he was simply not known as a pedophile advocate before he mailed the SS about wanting to kill the president 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 19:17, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
Prisons create all kinds of sexual perversions and further criminality. All inmates do is nonconsensually masturbate to female guards and then get punished for it, or like draw shit on paper while being continually dominated by the legal system. Recipe for disaster. Inmates need real, adult, willing sexual outlets, or at the very least adult pornography. 2600:4040:403C:F300:1FD:CB8D:20E5:E081 (talk) 19:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
thats a truly profound assessment of the us prison system AMassiveGay (talk) 15:20, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

greasy link[edit]

Pod Awful is run by a greasy clown and shouldn't be given a link. Jesse PoS would be worthy of an entry as well. 2601:647:4701:5680:59BA:490D:1568:250F (talk) 14:26, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

When was the Tisane account permanently blocked?[edit]

Don't doubt it happened, but every time it's mentioned here someone links a 2012 coop. The result of that coop was a 2 year ban of Larson, not a permablock. FallisBestSeason (talk) 01:26, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

So I did research... Rationalwiki did not permablock Nathan Larson's main RationalWiki account at any point until 2020. And it was done without procedure. Point is, the lede is incorrect. https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Special:BlockList?wpTarget=Tisane&blockType=&limit=50&wpFormIdentifier=blocklist https://archive.ph/qYSTu FallisBestSeason (talk) 01:31, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

lede was incorrect, fixed it FallisBestSeason (talk) 01:46, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Larson was effectively blocked from editing since January 2014, aside from ten minutes on 25 May 2020 when GC unblocked him (for some reason). It was just that he was blocked for a period of many decades rather than a permaban. Plutocow (talk) 18:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

bobby sands[edit]

pondering how long he has left to live by noting how long a world famous hunger striker took to starve himself to death is not a comparison of any significance beyond a time frame. specifically highlighting bobby sands at this point of the article and framing him in such a manner gives an inference that it has some unstated greater significance or that stressing sands role in an ira bombing is significant to a comparison somehow but is irrelevant and pointless trivia to comparing 55 days total till death for sands to larsons current 51 and counting that is actually being compared hereAMassiveGay (talk) 19:06, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
