Declared a national security threat by United States[edit]

Surely this is worth noting?

It's also worth noting that a nation being declared a national security threat is apparently, for whatever reason, a required first step before the US can impose sanctions on that nation or its leaders/officials, so whether it's genuinely considered a security threat is not very clearcut. But yeah, this certainly seems noteworthy, so feel free to add it to the article. 141.134.75.236 (talk) 21:40, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
I would say it's because the smaller stick of a coup failed so now the US is tossing all subtlety out the window and marching wholesale into the realm of absurdity. 24.20.65.149 (talk) 21:57, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Entire page of lies[edit]

This whole page is just imperialist fascist propaganda, come the fuck on — Unsigned, by: 2601:4C3:4000:6191:415C:6D01:18C9:931 / talk

Next time Mikemikev comes by calling us "Jewish Marxists" can you do us a favor and remind him that we're actually fascist imperialists? Pizza SLICE.gifDuceMoosoliniYour friendly RW dictator moderator 13:00, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Should we have a section on the presidential crisis?[edit]

We should add at least a brief mention of the ongoing crisis over whether Nicolas Maduro or Juan Guaido is President of Venezuela. Given that the situation involves censorship and human rights abuses, and of course, a generous heaping of bullshit rhetoric from both sides, it'd definitely be worth covering — Unsigned, by: 174.97.172.77 / talk

Wow[edit]

No mention is made of how Venezuela is in the crisis it's in because of American neoliberals deliberately fucking over its economy and the capital flight that resulted from the nationalization of the Venezuelan oil industry. This reads almost entirely like a shit neoliberal propaganda piece. Oxyaena Harass 23:47, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

Funny how there is no mention of Operation Gideon as well: the well-documented coup attempt concocted by the US State Department to depose Maduro using a PMC. However that would counteract the narrative that Venezuela's socialist republic is failing on its own, and not because of the US doing everything in its power to make sure the country collapses so it can gain control of its now-nationalized natural resources.
Pretty sure most Venezuelans would prefer Maduro to be overthrown by the "evil imperialist USA" than keep on living in misery under his dictatorship, which is the only one responsible for the country's situation. — Unsigned, by: 77.111.245.11 / talk / contribs

economy in intro[edit]

instead of whining like some users did above, i decided to mention that us sanctions hurt the venezuelan economy (which i did by a lot) and cited a source. in fact, it's really a combination of both economic mismanagement from within and excessive sanctions from without that wrecked the economy, but ideologues from both sides of the debate don't know anything about nuance (nor do they care to know).
