Talk:VenomFangX/Archive1
venomfangx is back 2-3 days ago he uploaded a vidoe on youtube titled "the meaning of life" but was taken down by him mirrors can be found
Just an opinion[edit]
I've seen Venom's latest video (Of his time with Jews with Jesus) and he doesn't seem to be an arrogant person anymore. He even talked about the Aurora massacre without blaming atheism or going on a rant. I think this time Venom will devote himself to promoting his creationist beliefs in a more "These are my beliefs and nobody can change them" way rather than "I'll screw anyone who doesn't agree with me" way. -
DMCA Takedowns[edit]

Videos[edit]
How can one add videos of VFX's insanity to RW? Just linking them on YouTube? The image uploader does not list FLV as an acceptable format. --Irrational Atheist (talk) 22:45, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
There is a way which works most of the time go to zamzar and select convert to MOV.

cut from page[edit]
"PCS recently DMCA'd Dprjones(on VFX related videos around 30 DMCA were served). Citing reasons that the videos DMCA'd where causing hatred to him and his family thus putting them in danger. Regardless of if this is true or not (no evidence except for PCS own account) it is a misuse of the DMCA. On the 6th of januray 2010 Dprjones gave PCS 10 days to terminate his account and exile himself for a year or he (dprjones and others who'd been DMCA'd) would contact youtube and inform them of VFX actions. Unlike the Thunderf00t scandal of 2009 Dprjones has stated he will not accept an apology presumely as this is the second time PCS has misused the DMCA. "

VenomFangX's "Final Farewell"[edit]
Though I doubt, given his previous track record, that this is truly his "Final Farewell," I managed to download a copy of the video he kept up for 10 minutes before he closed his account. I have uploaded it to FundieVideoHell, and it seems quite popular. I have edited the article page to link to the video in one of the references. - There's something about the "forget the greenscreen" bit that leaves me thinking it was slightly contrived. The rest makes me just feel pity for the guy more than anything, as he seems very disturbed and quite possibly deluded in a "call the authorities" kind of way, but that into, the "forget the greenscreen" you don't edit that sort of stuff on the fly so it was certainly intentional. So that to me says, no, it screams "IT'S AN ACT" to me. bomination 03:38, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- the nasty thing is his accusation of pedophelia against DPRJones and inciting people to report him to a child protection agency. The claims seem fairly obviously untrue, but that sort of thing can be hard to get rid of. People are now suggesting suing him for libel/slander and the emails seems to be coming from his school . - I honestly can't be certain, but hopefully enough shit had hit the fan to snap him out of his craziness. I believe dprjones is a solicitor and could have financially destroyed Shaun for what he did, and that's not even considering the the criminal offences. I hope it is sincere, since he's a young guy who really shouldn't screw up his life. This could be an interesting example of secular types showing willingness to forgive and to help someone undo the damage they've done. --Ask me about your mother 11:03, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

DPRJones and Thunderf00t on Barny the Biblesaur[edit]
I remember watching a video from each being all "dude, I've heard about him, and I don't want to comment about it." A better phrasing for the article is appropriate? They didn't just "not comment" about it, but specifically declined to comment. --Eira OMTG! The Goat be Praised. 04:41, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Messy Article[edit]
This article has potential, but it seems to be somewhat ranty in some areas. I understand that many people hate PCS with a passion (due to his status as an asshole), but the article contains some repetative info in it. So I'll probably try to clean it up a little. Moderateman3345 (talk) 05:36, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- I agree that there are serious problems here - probably shouldn't be a Bronze. Large sections are point-by-point descriptions and attacks on specific videos, for example, all mixed up with the larger narrative about VFX. I am thinking that the best thing to do would be to sort out the article so that a large-perspective examination comes first, with context for his position among YouTubers, his repeated LANCBs, and a broad history of his exploits. Then a subdivided section for specific issues and videos. Thoughts, anyone?--talk 02:20, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Before all this mess[edit]
I miss the old Venomfang. He commissioned me about 7 years ago to build a level for him of his house in CS:Source when it first came out. The map was later released in one of the first map packs. Back then, he was very pleasant to work with, and I didn't hear a single peep about religion or any such matters from him. I'll admit that I really miss working on that map with him, and am saddened to see the direction he's gone. For those of you interested, the map I created is on FPS Banana: http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/4863
Jesse Woodrow Show[edit]
Before VFX latest return, he was on a radio interview with Jesse Woodrow. I cannot find any links to the video, but perhaps we can find someone who has the material, or gather information from people who actually saw it live.
Now, I know that we cannot post anything without references, but I was there watching the live radio interview and I can share a few things that happened.
- When VFX shared about the charity fraud, Jesse forgave VFX, saying that he "was just a kid" even though he was 24 at the time. FFS, he is older than me and I know better.
- VFX said that thunderf00t deliberately and despicably edited out his old material to make it appear that VFX said "the Grand canyon formed in 5 minutes." Of course this is not true at all, but if this was true, then why did VFX not once lift a finger to prove TF wrong? He had plenty of time, and definitely had the eagerness to humiliate TF (so much that he made that video about TF and the debate with Ray Comfort).
- VFX said that the death threats against him from Muslims were real, contacted the authorities, and he got a man on the phone identified as his father to vouch that this was so.
- VFX said he earned over $4,000 but did not give anything to the Sick Kids Hospital.
There was a large atheist community of viewers watching this, and they all commented on the interview on the live chat. Whenever VFX openly lied, their comments calling VFX a "LIAR" flooded the chat room. I ask all of you, should we include a "Interview with Jesse Woodrow" section? I think we should, but we should make a note that the original material is no longer online. Feredir28 (talk) 21:46, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Need Some Clarification[edit]
So this VFX fellow is a gay former Jew and evangelical Christian who is slightly anti-Semitic and also extremely homophobic (even though he's gay and was Jewish)?
- The gay part is a bit speculative, but he seems to hang out a lot with more males than females (plus a few other details, but nothing concrete IMO). His parents are both secular Jewish and yes VFX does hold anti-Semitic views. As from his homophobic stance, he clearly states he is only homophobic through a "Christian perspective." Anything Christianity says about homosexuality, he totally buys it. He did not hold any of these offensive views until he became "born-again." I hope that answers your question. Feredir28 (talk) 18:37, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- dprjones' take on that is well worth watching. narchist 19:19, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
Side-by-side[edit]
The side-by-side format shouldn't be used here. It's for presenting a quoted text with side notes, not two streams of free text with no clear reading order. There are also some pretty feeble arguments in here & some semi-libellous speculation. ωεαşεζøίɗMethinks it is a Weasel 01:03, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed... the commentary and presentation should be folded into one continuous stream of text where possible... the only time that the two should really be separated is when presenting quoted material. ... unfortunately, I'm not sure how one would do that, without incurring a massive rewrite... --Eira OMTG! The Goat be Praised. 06:20, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
