Unconditional election is a doctrine Christian one of the Five Points of Calvinism. The idea is that God chooses arbitrarily according to His divine will who will be damned and who will be saved. This is compared with the way a potter can make from the same clay vessels for noble or common use. God hardens the hearts of those not chosen chosen for salvation as pharaoh's heart was hardened. Exodus 12:29 The choice was made before people were born. Exodus 12:29 Humans should not question the apparent arbitrariness of God's decisions, rather we should accept our fate, be it glorious or terrible with the patience of Job.
Modern theologians who accept unconditional election are inclined to believe that God foreknows who will achieve salvation and elects those who will be worthy. [4] If God knew how we would act before we were born, before we existed and before we could decide anything how can we act freely? [5]
