Hi Bob,
I'm not very good with this Wiki stuff, so I hope I'm writing this in the right place. Firstly, thank you for your reply. And yes, a "slapfest" is putting it lightly! It's a slapfest that's been going on, in some shape or form, for about 40 or so years. I got into it in 2006 when I started my own forum on the case after being a member of Manchester's forums from 2002.
But to clarify, the slapfest between Manchester and Farrant really kicked into gear after the publication of Manchester's book - in particular, the revised edition in 1991 - the same year Farrant published his "rebuttal", Beyond the Highgate Vampire. It's clear that they were friends - and mutual participants - in various media stunts (which is why all the really good "dirt" has come out long after it happened, e.g. http://davidfarrant.org/the-mysterious-magister/).
I would also like to mention that Manchester's claim to have a smoking gun on Farrant, i.e. secret recordings proving Farrant faked a spectral sighting at the cemetery, has still gone unchallenged. See: http://dawwih.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/release-tapes.html
