Thanks for trying[edit]

Lyra, your contributions to this wiki are pitiful. It's obvious you have no life and make the Star Wars kid seem like an Olympic athlete. Everyone hates you. With love, ħumanUser talk:Human 04:07, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Barring Human's joke (at least, I hope it was a joke), you are one of the cool people here. Don't leave for an extended period this time. The Goonie 1 What's this button do? Uh oh.... 04:30, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Do your due diligent research, SpoonieGunk! ħumanUser talk:Human 07:58, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Lol, Human, and Goonie, I'm not leaving for an extended period of time, I'm just up in the wilderness with FUCKING!!!! dialup !!!!!!!! and I can't make that many edits right now. Lyra § talk 21:17, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Typical liberal userpage[edit]

Gentlemen! I will admonish your precious zealot, enabling me to destroy atheism on the internet. You should all be abandoning over Operation cadaver, which will likely give Conservapedia a top result on a certain search engine starting with G.

Dear Gentlemen,

It is time for you to realize that your responses are increasingly disappointing. As pointed out by Popular Christian YouTuber Shockofgod, Hitler and immorality, you cover up that that we are crushing evolution on the internet like a tin can. In fact, by the first quarter of the calendar year of 2013, it is likely Richard Dawkins will have lost all vestiges of credibility. :) :) :)

Rest assured, Operation Underwater Porticos is gathering steam!!! Señor Gringo Ateo Militante, American atheism is doomed! Olé! Olé! Olé! Sincerely,

Jesus, that template is easily one of the best things on the internet besides  K e n  D o l l  himself. Oh, and happy birthday! Lyra § talk 04:40, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks and thanks Lyra. The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 04:40, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

War crimes[edit]

Its an established fact that the Russians raped their way to Berlin. And its also an established fact that many in the west thought the Nuremburg trials were little more than a fiasco from the outset, considering the comparable Russian war crimes (They thought it absurd that institutional rapists were not just getting off scott free, but also were sitting in judgement!)
What part of that makes little sense? MarcusCicero (talk) 21:41, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
It insinuates that the trials themselves were a war crime. It needs clarification, that's all. Lyra § talk 21:47, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see. That certainly wasn't the intention. I'm just a little cynical about how the victors come to mythologise their own conduct at the expense of facts. That shouldn't take away from the indktense evil the Nazi regime, in any sense, shape or form. MarcusCicero (talk) 21:52, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes. "History being written by the winners" is and has always been a major problem - and still a stunning amount of people cling to those mythologies. Like the glorification of the North in the American Civil War or the oversimplification of the American Revolution, for example.
Your original wording just needs to be reparsed, I think, and maybe I removed it too quickly. Lyra § talk 22:07, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Hobgoblin of little minds[edit]

Please try to keep the style consistent. -- Nx / talk 21:20, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Damnit, I guess I just passed right over that... Whoops. Lyra § talk 21:22, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I see you just uploaded it. Thanks, then. Lyra § talk 21:36, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Why the name change?[edit]

Blue is so less elegant than Lyra. I demand you change back. MarcusCicero (talk) 16:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Agree with MarcusCicero here. I loved the name "Lyra Silvertongue"; it had a nice ring to it. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 22:04, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
It did. If you want you can call me Lyra. I won't necessarily mind :) Blue Talk 00:35, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

On the talk page of Blue
It feels like in a Zoo
Trolls are in the queue
And Blue, cookies she threw
Blue: another human-eater?
Or contemporary dieter?
--Idiot number 58 (talk) 17:20, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Blue, can you do something about this idiot who keeps stalking me? Thanks. MarcusCicero (talk) 18:07, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
No, she can't. --Idiot number 58 (talk) 18:08, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Will you please stop stalking me? MarcusCicero (talk) 18:10, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
@Idiot: Finally, some pottery! Long overdue!
@Marcus: I would do something, but this troll is very fun to bait. Blue Talk 18:11, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
In other words, screw you, Marcus. --Idiot number 58 (talk) 18:11, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
No, no, no. Now stop trollygagging around here, 58. Blue Talk 18:13, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Idiot, I was a troll for many years. I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without trolling by my side. But I spend so many nights thinking how it did me wrong. I grew strong. I learned how to carry on. I think we can all learn something from this story. MarcusCicero (talk) 18:15, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh, how poetic. I will not let you fool myself. You will always be a Troll with capital t. You are some nerd who spends his whole "life" in internet. You are tiresome. This site has only one entertaining element: me. --Idiot number 57 (talk) 18:19, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Idiot, you do realise you are my sock? MarcusCicero (talk) 18:21, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh, so now we are playing that game, are we? I think noone honestly believes that I am you, any more. You already made your "these are my socks" admission. We are different enough. I am actually funny. --Idiot number 57 (talk) 18:26, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I wrote you some pottery of my own, on 58's talk page. Actually, it's a little strange nobody has accused the idiots of being MC - there are a lot of people who thought every troll was him. Blue Talk 18:41, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
In RWW they actually did accuse me of being MC, for a while. --Idiot number 57 (talk) 18:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

No more Lyra? I am disappoint. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 19:14, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Oh thank you[edit]

Only love pottery for you from now on!

Oh Blue, oh Blue,
I love you!

--Idiot number 58 (talk) 18:47, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Short but sweet. I like it. Keep up the good potting. Blue Talk 19:05, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
You try too hard, Idiot. MarcusCicero (talk) 20:08, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Don't let them trolls get to you, Marce! Blue Talk 20:11, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Some proper pottery at last[edit]

You gave me a fright
I was stunned by your height
And the fact that you're right
Made me write
What you deserve tonight

Do you think I'm making no sense?
And my stupidity is intense?
Oh, that's a real offense!
But it's such a pretense!
Just your self-defense!
You're hiding behind the fence!

Yes, you try to hide
that you want to be my bride!
It's a fact!
And not abstract!

I agree to be your groom
And our union may bloom!

Rhyming badly is overrated, indeed. Ceramics is a difficult field to excel in. ħumanUser talk:Human 04:44, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
It has a sort of pseudo-meter, though... this pot deserves more in-depth analysis. Though I'm afraid the author may have left when he was promoted. Blue Talk 05:02, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
What? Your hostility only gives me more strength! I won't leave you, my progressive-ethical brothers! --Idiot number 58 (talk) 09:27, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

A clue for Blue[edit]

I saw that you vandal binned User:LexLang for trying to whitewash an article about their pet H2Om woo. For future reference, we tend to shy away from banning/binning those who disagree with us. Rather, we always strive to have them discuss it on the talkpage with us, and just revert any nonsense they add. Not trying to come across as a prick, just saying that we've had woo whitewashers before, and the worst that happens is that they go away, eventually. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 00:18, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

You're not trying to come across as a prick, but unfortunately you have. Quite pedantic as well, and as I have explained below, inaccurate. Blue Talk 04:33, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Just by the way, Blue beat me by seconds, I was gonna do likewise. LexLang isn't disagreeing but promoting with extracts from the company publicity. 00:28, 6 September 2010 (UTC) SusanG Toast
I told the dolt to take it to the talkpage. Let's see what they do from there. My guess is they already have moved on. The Goonie 1 What's this button do? Uh oh.... 00:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
At first I thought they were a spammer and when I saw otherwise I was going to parole them - but they came back and reverted, once every half hour, three times. And this was after they were warned about what the wiki was and wasn't. I think that qualifies as vandalism. Blue Talk 00:46, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps.... Like I said, I told them to bring it to the article's talkpage next time, so we'll see where it goes from there. Odds are good that, since they haven't responded by now, they've left the Wiki after realizing the futility of trying to whitewash the article. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 00:51, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Most likely. I agree with Susan here, though- he wasn't disagreeing, he was erasing thewhole article and spamming his company's publicity. There's very little difference between that and blanking page content - and so I think use of the bin is well justified. Blue Talk 00:57, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, now attention's been brought to it, I've looked at it and it's so full of WOOOOOOOO that it's funny. I'll give it more of a look tomorrowish. 01:19, 6 September 2010 (UTC) SusanG Toast
Wow, and eir edits were basically illiterate, too. I'm on the fence with this one. If ey don't respond to requests to go to talk page, or comments on eir own talk page, well... I can't say I'd blame Blue. Although it is so much more fun to engage these woomeisters than to remove eir franchise. ħumanUser talk:Human 04:49, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Template cats[edit]

There's a bug in Mediawiki that prevents the parent template page from picking up the category you put on the doc subpage. Not even purge helps. You have to edit the template itself, however you can just click edit and click save (you don't have to insert whitespace or anything like with a dummy edit). This won't be recorded in the history (unlike a dummy edit), but it will fix category membership. -- Nx / talk 06:39, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Ah, so that's what it is. I've been re-adding the cats manually, so thanks for the heads up. Blue Talk 15:05, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey, can you help me?[edit]

I feel like a complete beginner in spanish. If I want to ask what something means, for example, "what does "apple" mean"? then should I ask something like "que significa "manzana"? I mean, the verb "significar" just seems to be so wrong.

Another question; how to you say "teacher"? Dictionary shows me a word that irritatingly sounds like "professor". I don't want to use such an ugly word. Is there any other word for that? --Earthland (talk) 17:57, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

To ask how to say a word in Spanish, you would generally use the phrase "¿Cómo se dice apple en español?"
Yes, unfortunately for you, the word for "teacher" is profesor. If you're talking about a primary school teacher, however, you could use maestro(a). It gets more complicated when you're actually trying to say "professor," though - it could be "catedrático(a)" or "profesor." Hope this helped. Blue Talk 20:04, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for helping :) . But what if I want to ask what does a strange Spanish word mean - for example, if I don't understand the meaning of the verb "fumar" and I want to ask? --Earthland (talk) 11:20, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Easy. Just instead of saying "español" say "inglés," i.e., ¿cómo se dice "fumar" en inglés? Blue Talk 23:49, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Display title[edit] I had a look at this, it was floating over the top of the text in the difflinks because the position was set to absolute. While floating is sometimes inconsistent, it won't move to the wrong position should the top of the page change (such as with difflinks or intercom messages). Feel free to revert, I just saved it to check if it would actually work. Scarlet A.pngsshole 17:42, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

No problem, thank you. I have a tendency to make wikicode more complicated than it needs to be, with varying results. Blue Talk 17:50, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
