Hello Susan! I hope you and those you love are well! Nice to see you around again. I tried to dodge the floating words, but that's a fool's errand. Best wishes for the new year to you and yours. Especially the murderous kitteh! ħumanUser talk:Human 23:20, 31 December 2008 (EST)

They made me a janitor!

I'm so embarrassed. What will I do with all this power?

I think I want to invade a small foreign country, Iraq, maybe. Oops, that's already been done. Well, Iran. Yeah, Iran should do.

Anyway, happy new year and thanks for past advice. Thanks for future advice, too.

Hi Susan, I just moved my MoS from user space to Help:Manual of style. Why Conservapedia has failed

Despite Conservapedia's boundless arrogance it is a project that has by almost any measure failed. Every 5 days Wikipedia gets more edits than Conservapedia has in total. Conservapdedia has fewer articles than the Galician version of Wikipedia. Hell, Conservapedia has half as many articles as Wookieepedia. Conservapedia has been unable to attract enough talent to become a viable project in its own right which is why it runs on an outdated version of Wikipedia's software. And despite Conservapedia's pride in their popularity (currently #48,714 according to Alexa) most of that traffic is people who come to laugh at you. Which is why I am always amused to see gloating over a spike in traffic. This pattern is illustrated by the numerous restrictions placed by Conservapedia on editors because you attract more people who would rather vandalize your project than those who want to contribute positively to it. If you need any convincing of Conservapedia's inferiority you need only press the random page link a few times and compare the articles with what Wikipedia offers.

Your problem is foundational you saw a problem with bias in Wikipedia and aimed to correct it not by creating an encyclopedia that is less biased but by creating one that is far more biased. I often send independent friends I am trying to move leftward to Conservapedia they invariable return laughing at many of the patently ludicrous claims made. By the way I know this isn't a fair tactic as Conservapedia is not representative of the Conservative movement as a whole. This is not to say I'm against Conservapedia besides the entertainment it provide it also drains off the energy of a few editors that would otherwise be working to undermine Wikipedia. I know you will most likely deep burn this comment and ban me but that should only be taken as an indication of your inability to address my comments head on.Why Conservapedia has failed

There's nothing wrong with having redirects. In this case it could even be helpful, e.g. if the section name changes, we can just fix just a theory instead of fixing all articles linking to it. Or if it gets an article of its own, etc. -- Nx / talk 21:23, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

I want to "map" my caplocks key (especially on this "new" flaptop) to just be a shift key. Surely this will be easy. Caplock errors suck, because you have to retype every damn character. Thoughts? I've started, for unknown reasons, holding down the shift key with my thumb (I'm slobbing back with kb on lap) & hunt/pecking with my right hand. Many thanks for your email regarding reform of libel law.

I agree that these issues need to be addressed. I have therefore already signed an amended version of the EDM you mention (the amendment is underlined below):

‘That this House notes that human rights activists, scientists, writers and journalists are prevented from publishing, and the public prevented from reading, matters of strong public interest due to the chilling effect of English libel law; further notes that libel actions in England and Wales cost 100 times more than the European average; further notes that the costs of defending a libel case are usually prohibitive and that even successful defendants do not recover their full costs; further notes the report of the United Nations Committee on Human Rights which criticises English libel law for its stifling of free expression globally due to libel tourism whereby foreign complainants bring cases against foreign writers for alleged libel in overseas publications; believes that public interest is endangered by powerful vested interests and corporations being able to intimidate writers into not publishing; further believes that the libel laws discriminate against average and low paid people when victims of defamatory comment in the pages of national publications; recognises the recent report by Index on Censorship and English PEN, Free speech is not for sale and further notes the campaign for scientific freedom by Sense About Science; welcomes the formation of the Libel Reform Coalition to campaign for law reform; and calls for a re-casting of the libel laws such that, while individual reputation is protected against malicious or reckless smears, lawful free expression is not chilled and there is a fully effective public interest defence for both scholarship and responsible journalism.’ You can see my name online at:

If there is anything you wish to discuss or if I can be of any further assistance, in this matter or any other, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,
