I think we should "whitewash" some of the embarrassing mess above by encouraging TK to archive it. Page is getting long anyway, and no one has commented on the threads for a couple of days. Also, perhaps he could save that "bygones" section in a special sub-page with a link saying something like "here we were in our finest hour"? Or maybe just "bygones"? Seems a shame to have those fine sentiments vanish into the memory hole. Anyway, the page is long and he probably wants to archive it and I don't want to see him get his head bitten off for doing so. Thank you for your time. humanUser talk:Human 18:05, 24 December 2007 (EST)

Well, yes, Kels who constantly has attacked me, never blocked for it, is the ideal Sheriff to enforce a non-rule on me. Typical fascist fare, stopping those they hate from doing exactly what they do. I like them making my points for me. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 17:47, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Shouldn't you have left the blocking to Human (he has blocking rights, hasn't he?)? Now-a-days it's easier to get blocked here than over there at CP... Ed @CP and RW 16:07, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Actually, no. In cases of personal attacks, if the attackee complains, a third party should do the blocking after reviewing the complaint. I just read the diff linked above, and that was pretty nasty. I'm not "bitter"! And typing this: "Me me me! Everyone forgot me!!!! Oh, never mind..." does not seem like "denigrat[ing] and diminish[ing] even nice conversations when they don't go the way you wish (down the toilet)." Easier to get blocked here than at CP? Shirley you jest, Mr. Poor. I was permabanned on CP for editing here. humanUser talk:Human 20:43, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Hmm I'd better change my nick (Poor, moi? Brr). So this block was unwarranted at the time (you hadn't complained). I took it for an inside joke between you and TK. I definitely see more blocking here now than before - and less blocking over there at CP now than before. I don't think it's because TK "left". I guess they are starving for editors. There are people who, with the same name, derisively comment on CP here and participate in talks there; Interpreted's (?) sock hasn't been blocked yet despite his disruptive actions; I even put a reference to RW in my User page (disguised to be honest). And when someone is blocked, good chance is that it is an intimidating couple of days, not an automatic life ban. Ed @CP and RW 02:31, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Thank you, yes, this was the edit I made where I thought you were Ed Poor - I knew I mixed you up, but couldn't remember where - my apologies offered. Much discussion about this (warranted) block at user talk:Cracker. humanUser talk:Human 06:46, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Anytime you displease one of the Admin Elites here, you will get blocked, if you do it enough. Kels has constantly attacked me on this wiki, as has Human and AmesG...odd in a progressive wiki, they are allowed to punish those they disagree with, or that rational people would dare to compare a supposedly free and open wiki as RW is supposed to be with a totalitarian wiki like if doing something, anything, to a lesser degree here, like blocking, makes it alright! I am happy to accept such a position if it entails, as I said above, outrage at those who seek to deceive others. Shall we start the guessing as to who you really are now, or would you rather save that game until later, Clerkwell Kid? I doubt this wiki would ever grant me check user for 5 minutes to confirm what I and others already think, lol. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:11, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Hell, no one has checkuser, aside from Tmt. (It was removed from the wiki, Tmt just has root access) Pinto's5150 Talk 23:16, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Excuse me being a skeptic, but what you meant to say was, "As far as I have been told, no one has check user", right? You have no way to personally verify, right? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:21, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Unless it has been wiped from the user rights management control panel but not the wiki, I am nearly certain. Pinto's5150 Talk 23:24, 8 January 2008 (EST)

For someone familiar with Wikimedia software, that can be done. In point of fact, the software could be configured to do exactly that, even show a different panel to different classes, or, for that matter, to actually not show certain user classes to others. Not saying that was done, just saying no way to actually verify what others have said. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:27, 8 January 2008 (EST)

True, I wasn't aware of that. Oddly enough, this shows users (myself included) as having checkuser, but I can genuinely say that I don't. Pinto's5150 Talk 23:42, 8 January 2008 (EST)
I actually do believe you, that you do not have it. And I actually do believe that it has been posted and or alluded to here, that it was done away with. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:15, 9 January 2008 (EST)
We uninstalled checkuser as a function, but the user group "checkuser" remains, so that users like myself are members of a group that carries no privileges whatsoever :-). I'd nuke the group but I think I have to be oversight to do that, and while I could demote myself to that, that seems untoward; further, I don't know how to do it... but, long story short, checkuser's been uninstalled on the wiki.-αmεσ (ninja) 00:42, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Seems as if you have already been demoted, AmesG, looking at the link and several others already have "Oversight":

  • Airdish ‎(Bureaucrat, Sysop)
  • AmesG ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Bob M ‎(Bureaucrat, Sysop)
  • Human ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Linus ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Pinto's5150 ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Tmtoulouse ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)

I wasn't, as you undoubtedly read above, doubting what was said. But, of course, wouldn't turn down you demoting me long enough to verify that! :P But then, I would only be able to actually verify that I couldn't see another user class that was invisible from the others, right? :D --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:52, 9 January 2008 (EST)

You generated that list during the one minute when I was oversight, to see if I could remove the user group :-). I couldn't :-(. Also, it seems Pinto came to the same perplexing conclusion I did: a bureaucrat can't even remove the user group, since apparently it no longer exists except on the recent changes screen. Weird.-αmεσ (ninja) 00:53, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Yea, Ames, I removed all of your rights, and it still said you had checkuser. Pinto's5150 Talk 00:56, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Not doubting you at all, Ames. When I clicked it earlier, all the others had it, and I truly don't remember if you did or not! Seems to me, if one can grant a user class to oneself, than they are not in a lower user class than the others, eh? So, as I have been told, by a wiki genius here, one can also make user classes that others cannot see. No biggie..just as has been said, something that cannot ever be verified. Right? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:57, 9 January 2008 (EST)

I'm not supposed to tell you this, but you're a member of a super seekrit invisible user class that sends us your credit card number every time you click "Save Page." True story. Also, while "technically," since I could make myself a higher user class, I suppose I could belong to it whenever I want to, real restraint does function to prevent me from so elevating myself. That restraint is self-discipline, respect for the hierarchy, and respect for Trent & Linus. The public log ensures that you'd know if that restraint were breached. And, since you can see that I've never made myself Oversight except to try to remove the Checkuser group, it seems to work pretty well...-αmεσ (ninja) 01:03, 9 January 2008 (EST)

LOL, I wish it did send my card! I would go on a shopping spree! You are making more of this with denials, than was ever thought to happen, however. The public logs can be changed, that has been confirmed here, remember? Not saying that's what happened here, or any other occasions, just saying, almost anything can be done, if one knows the software, and has a burning reason to do it. That's all. No tricks, accusations or anything else...I am even in short sleeves! :P --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 01:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Short sleeves.... Even the thought makes me envious, it's freezing here. Back on topic, ames, you are part of an ultra seekrit user class that automatically tells us what you're thinking, and I must say, it's disturbing. Pinto's5150 Talk 01:11, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Jog your memory[edit]

I know it's absurd to think that you could remember every block, but do have any idea what this is for? I never edited, and I never even made an account. ThunderkatzHo! 21:25, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Most likely, if indeed you never made an account under any name, you had the misfortune to register at the same time as someone else with a similar IP to someone who did vandalize...or perhaps (given the small fonts of these damn wiki's) I simply misread the numbers! Some posting of vandalism in WIGO, using only IP's were naturally blocked, but unless you did that, like you said, no real idea. You do know you can unplug your modem for the night, and escape that block, eh? Most of them seem to drop off after a few weeks. ;-) --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 21:55, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Gawd, I dunno about that being easy. I've had the same IP for over two years now, through power outages, comcast resets, and even, I think, swapping modems! I'll never be able to say "hi" to Bohdan on CP ever again :( humanUser talk:Human 22:13, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Since I had no idea where you actually lived before this Holiday season, no, I wouldn't have known. Nor did I ever really pay attention to those things, just another part of the lore, I guess. Ask GL, I know he fended off my speculations you lived in North or South Carolina, etc. No need for the intimidating name calling, implied threats, what with you being a powerful Admin and all....for which you blocked me (allowed to happen) for two days, Human...we all know you won't likewise block yourself! Not that I expect you to, nor believe it would do any good, what with all the sock names. Around here, I am on my side. A few others have earned it as well. Anything else? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 03:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)

My theory is, whenever anyone here makes a move to let bygones be bygones, Human and a few others get alarmed, and not being able to abide anyone actually treating me normally, or having me interact with the others in a pleasant manner, feel the compulsion to jump in and attack, name call, spread their hate around, otherwise, perhaps, they will lose their reason for living. Sad they need to hate on others so badly, isn't it? On another page (WIGO Talk), Gulak was the appointed attacker, wanting to spur a reaction. When it wasn't enough, Human jumped in. In the past, Susan, AmesG or Kels acted in concert with the others. How utterly sad. Of course, I am just being paranoid, is the answer. If only it didn't happen exactly the same way, with exactly the same culprits over and over again, I might agree. Oh well, it's Midnight here now, time for a nightcap and a walk on the beach! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 05:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)

All theories are falsifiable, lol. If it's January, it must be Kailua-Kona, where it is in the 70's now, 80's during the day, and the Whale watching and scuba diving is great! I am not, by the way, offended by your name-calling, but was mightily offended by Human's. Utterly and completely offended, deeper and more hurt was I than he was by my calling him a drunk, I might add! So there! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 05:25, 9 January 2008 (EST)

In the same diff, linked, you yell at us for nuking and hiding information from the public eye, and then ask for the same. Just thought it should be brought up.-αmεσ (ninja) 19:37, 9 January 2008 (EST)

As a would-be Lawyer, Ames, I doubt you are confused at all. You and I both know, contrary to your public statements here, and elsewhere, that it has happend many times, the nuking of info, and at times even I have agreed with doing it. All actions are "situational", and I know you know that. With the thread in question, I, like Linus, thought the information truly was sufficiently "out there" as to be nothing more than common knowledge. Come and chat with me a while...I am on vacation, mellow as I ever get, and perhaps it is time for at least you and me to end all this silly business. What do you say? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Communication actually works! 19:57, 9 January 2008 (EST)
What I take from that is "TK: I'm a man of expedience." Does wonders to your principled stand against the sysops here :-) And, while I too am on vacation, I have better things to do than talk to you: watching TV comes to mind.-αmεσ (ninja) 20:04, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Expedience, rather than a protracted war, or risking hurting someone's feelings or just being accommodating, is indeed sometimes best, Ames. I haven't made a "principled stand" against anything, other than people calling me a liar for stating what we all know is true (say nuking for just one example)or blocking for petty, bogus reasons because a person might not like another, or gang-raping their every effort to contribute, out of spite. You and I have helped each other out many times, and you know that is 100% true. Perhaps through design, perhaps through mistakes, we have both turned our backs on one another. It order for us to get any traction in making this place better, we both need to do better than your comment above. Did you, or did you not, mean what you said, long ago?
A bureaucrat is the true voice of the people in a Wiki project. He or she is supported and recognized by all as a fair administrator of the rules, who does not spark controversy, but instead mollifies it, bringing users together rather than splitting them apart. --AmesG

I meant it, but it doesn't mean that you get a heckler's veto.-αmεσ (ninja) 21:38, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Nor did I ever expect one. I expect the same exact latitude as you and others get. Exactly the same. I expect to not be attacked or held accountable for my actions on CP (which is the number one reason for my responding back to attacks here), or have my edits reversed out of spite. Or have Admins messaging other users poisoning the well, or acting in concert in threads to provoke. In other words, the basic things RW claims to stand for. Your own actions, only today, is completely contrary to that old quote of yours, Ames. I realize it was made in another place and time however. Fair enough? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Communication actually works! 21:52, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, TK! Are you seriously accusing us of trying to influence our users behind your back!? Because, shit, well, wow... no way.-αmεσ (ninja) 00:53, 10 January 2008 (EST)

Points raised in response to a valid question. Points ignored, most never answered, deflection kicks in, person scoffs, tries to present himself as some nice, unbiased, injured person by the accusation. Same pattern, over and over again. Then user posts later down an insult and knowingly tries to raise questions about credibility, as if that would somehow negate his own unfairness. Over and over again, the Richard Nixon play book at use. I'm done trying to dialog with Ames, as the past month more than demonstrates I have been 100% right about how some here operate. Many Admins have shown they are indeed fair, willing to be, only to be kicked in the teeth by the others. Sad. But hardly a surprise. --TK/MyTalkLowly editor 02:04, 10 January 2008 (EST)

I expect to not be attacked or held accountable for my actions on CP Why should you NOT be held accountable? You're on the top ten reasons that place had the Stalinist miasma of ignorance it does. --Gulik 12:09, 10 January 2008 (EST)

You know, it doesn't take CheckUser to see through TK's vain attempts to look cool: all you need is knowledge of his poor character for truthfulness. That said, I think I'm done here. Enjoy your tropical vacation; I have to go anyways, Stephen Hawking needs some help with this equation, then it's off to a dinner party with Sandra Day O'Connor.-αmεσ (ninja) 10:56, 10 January 2008 (EST)
Oh, stop it Ames. That argument is very immature. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 17:46, 10 January 2008 (EST)
Now that.. THAT... is some serious dickishness. 12:00, 10 January 2008 (EST) <-oops, didn't realize I was no longer auto-logged, now I can't remember my password. Oh well. Aziraphale...

Lather, rinse, repeat. Lather, rinse, repeat. AmesG and the other haters lose again. But they will never know that, unfortunately --- just how transparent most see them as being. When someone isn't name-calling them, they resort to dodges and insults, anything to avoid being held accountable. Always the same back-up chorus. If I said I was typing this from atop Kilimanjaro, with 100 native pygmy bearers in tow, how that would relate to the simple unfairness and meanness of spirit they display is beyond me. If they are students for real, or students of life, they seriously need to take Humanity 101 and try to purge their hate. I hope Ames enjoys his dinner with Justice O'Connor. Please make sure to say hello to your fellow Lawyer, Andy Schlafly. ---TK/MyTalkLowly editor 12:31, 10 January 2008 (EST)

I'm sorry for calling you on the Hawaii thing. It was unprovoked aggression and meanness without justification. Although my decision to try to retract the insult was correct, I should never have been needlessly nasty in the first place. This is what happens when I break my "don't talk to TK" rule :-). Enjoy wherever it is that you are, and goatspeed.

I forgot to add, because I was mean, I'm blocking myself for a day, and I intend to abide by my block. Other sysops, please do not unblock me, but even if you do, I'll see you in 24 hours...-αmεσ (ninja) 10:11, 11 January 2008 (EST)

In case you missed it, I put users here up to one of those "political compass" tests, and I was wondering if you would be willing to take it. It would be nice if someone who wasn't ultra-liberal took the test (the current pattern is very dull—everyone is clustered under "Socialism"). You interested?

The test is here. One important note, if you choose to take the test, make sure to check "Show Hints" for all the questions. The hints show the reasoning behind each possible answer, and without reading them you will get a result that doesn't reflect your views. The explanation for what your results mean can be found here. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:05, 14 January 2008 (EST)

Where should I put the results? On Talk, Main Page? I think I added mine in the right place, but have no idea of how to insert it into that fancy graph you made. Sorry, but I don't think I fit your notions of where I would land. --TK/MyTalkLowly editor 03:36, 14 January 2008 (EST)
TK, you are a closet communist, you just don't want to admit it to yourself ;-) No, to be honest, I don't think that test is reliable for everybody. At least I don't see me as extremist as that test paints me. That +6 I get in "Authoritarism" (?) probably derives from my convintion that the State must take care of its citizens, call it Welfare State if you wish, but I support freedom more than anything else, even more than Andy himself does (but not the freedom of carrying guns). Ed @but not the Poor one! 04:34, 14 January 2008 (EST)
Yes, right place. Someone will just have to re-upload the graph when most of our data is in, I suspect. And I don't think the quadrants are well-labelled on this test. It's an ethics and morals test, really, and should not be reported in such political terms, in my opinion. humanUser talk:Human 04:35, 14 January 2008 (EST)
Ignore these goofballs. Oh, and don't worry about getting onto the graph I made. I had to make that in Photoshop. I'll can easily do a second edition that includes you and anyone else not on the current version. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 05:04, 14 January 2008 (EST)

Uploading of pictures[edit]

Will be nuked. And you'll be nuked for the next in Fibonnaci Order if you don't heed this warning.-αmεσ (ninja) 20:34, 15 January 2008 (EST)

It would be unfair of you to block him while you and the others are discussing permabanning him on this site. user talk:Bohdan 20:35, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Why? I did. OK, for a few pi seconds. For old times sake. humanUser talk:Human 21:51, 15 January 2008 (EST)

The image he previously posted was a fraudulent attempt to defame several of our editors. By posting more of the same, I'll assume he forfeits the right to plead his own case. Seriously, he can't hide behind our ethics and commitment to tolerance while punching us in the face. This has to stop.-αmεσ (ninja) 20:37, 15 January 2008 (EST)

But you are discussing a permaban (which I seem to remember was forbidden earlier on this wiki). That sounds like punching someone in the face. user talk:Bohdan 20:39, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Well, Kels said I could upload evidence to back my assertions, AmesG, in the Conservapedia Talk. You posted there, and undoubtedly saw it. If you don't want all of it uploaded, I suggest you apologize and put aside our differences, and act like a real person. If there isn't any chance whatsoever for you to back down gracefully, I am truly sorry. You can get me on AIM or email if there is the slightest chance of ending this. But, it seems from the Community Standards page you are leading the charge to ban me, so I don't have much to lose, do I? Those who want to read the truth, they can also email me, and unless I hear from AmesG, will assume all hope of accommodation is out the window. --TK/MyTalk"Lowly" editor 20:41, 15 January 2008 (EST)
This is exactly why I want you gone. You view your tenure on the site as security against blackmail, which you threaten to leverage against us. We don't want users who blackmail. Have a ball in p-mail but I wouldn't try me; you've been spamfiltered for a couple months now.-αmεσ (ninja) 20:44, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Fine by me, AmesG. Those who live by the sword shall perish by it. Truth isn't blackmail, and the current threads on conservapedia talk show I have been trying to avoid all this. That old prune running around posting "Yeah!" is a clear indicator. I have tried everything I could to make peace. Your hate is stronger. So enjoy your life. --TK/MyTalk"Lowly" editor 20:49, 15 January 2008 (EST)
So long! And care to explain just what sword you expect me to die by? That's not... very nice.-αmεσ (ninja) 20:51, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Be nice, children. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 04:54, 16 January 2008 (EST)

I've been informed that you may have gone away forever. If you haven't, in keeping with fibonacci order, your current block will expire in (55-1=54) days. This extreme measure takes account of your ten valid blocks, to accumulate to this super-long block. Goatspeed.-αmεσ (ninja) 16:31, 16 January 2008 (EST)

Do you think we should unblock TK on parole? Or does his sockpuppetry constitute "bad behavior"? --Hojidie! 15:10, 28 February 2008 (EST)

What sockpuppetry? I'm not aware of any TK incursions since his ban. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:13, 28 February 2008 (EST)
