If you have block privileges, will you please block the new vandal? Eye See You 22:05, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
Tmtoulouse not only has the power to block you, he also has, as all psychologists do, the power to make you feel stupid. Clustering illusionist

Sinister mechanations--PalMD-Goatspeed! 22:40, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

I didn't understand that. Tmtoulouse is Canadian? I thought he told me months ago that he was French. Clustering illusionist 22:43, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
HA! See here: [1] He says his relatives came to the US, not Canada. Clustering illusionist
So I guess the question is which Canadian is TK trying to bother this time?--PalMD-Goatspeed! 22:47, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
Are you Canadian? Who all is? I thought most people here were British. Clustering illusionist 22:49, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
I would presume, User:Helios, who is a supporter of canada and perhaps User:Nolife. Apperently they have been semi-active in the vandalism department lately.
I believe User:Kels is Canadian too. Genghis Khant 02:50, 3 August 2007 (CDT)
Yup. I've got the UBX, and I know TK's aware of it, too. --Kels 06:32, 3 August 2007 (CDT)

Main page[edit]

Because of the addition to the right side of the main page, could you move "wisdom of the sages" to the left side to balance it out? Thanks. ThunderkatzHo! 17:40, 6 August 2007 (CDT)

I'm sure you are doing so already, but can you just keep a look over on Newton; I need to go sleepy-time now. -- מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!

Pffft, just more evolutionist twaddle. We know the Earth (and the universe) is only 6000 years old. CЯacke® 21:04, 8 August 2007 (CDT)
Science didn't get it 150% right on the first try, therefore it can NEVER BE TRUSTED AGAIN! Now we just need 400 footnotes and evolution will be dead as Darwin. --Kels 21:27, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

Checkuser[edit]

Would it be okay if I had checkuser abilities? --transResident Transfanform! 12:40, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

Hm, there is a legitimate concern about privacy in regards to checkuser, not the least of which is our sites stated intent to respect sock puppets both open and secret. I am leery of making it wildly available, I am not saying no or anything, just being cautious. Why do you want it? tmtoulouse heckle 12:44, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
I may be wrong but on CP it appears to be only available to the CPwebmaster, although from the actions of the sysops over there it looks like they all have it. Genghis Khant 13:31, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
The check user is widely availible on CP. On the matter of checkuser here can we install the checkuser log extension, so we can know whos querying who. - Icewedge 14:08, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
Every sysop has Checkuser rights. This was brought up very early on CP, but I think the reply was the usual "Andy completely trusts the sysops, so there". Besides, on CP, silly things like IPs don't count as private user information. --Sid 15:09, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

A message from Conservative[edit]

Hey there. Conservative asked me to give you a message:

Dear Matt,

Please ask Trent and Ames how they like the new beginning for the theory of evolution.  I am speaking of this material:

In addition, Philip S. Skell, a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences wrote a candid article in The Scientist in 2005 entitled Why Do We Invoke Darwin? Evolutionary theory contributes little to experimental biology in which he states that Darwinian evolution "does not provide a fruitful heuristic in experimental biology." [5] Skell also wrote the following:

Certainly, my own research with antibiotics during World War II received no guidance from insights provided by Darwinian evolution. Nor did Alexander Fleming's discovery of bacterial inhibition by penicillin. I recently asked more than 70 eminent researchers if they would have done their work differently if they had thought Darwin's theory was wrong. The responses were all the same: No.[6]

Sincerely,

David

I merely re-wikified it. Otherwise, it's a 1:1 of the mail he sent me. I first didn't want to play errant boy for him, but since I joined anyway, I figure you might get a kick out of it. --MStort 16:07, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

Sheesh. I'm sure it'd be POSSIBLE to do some sorts of physics research without accounting for Gravity. but that wouldn't mean it doesn't exist. --Gulik 13:45, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Site Finances[edit]

Hey can you E-Mail me a copy of our WebSite finances. I need to see what the least amount I can donate and not look completly stingy is. Gods peed! - Icewedge 16:39, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

Well my friend, I just put up the link today so there haven't been any donations, essentially RationalWiki is currently in the whole $80, and we will go from there. Feel free to donate any amount you like, or none at all even a few dollars will help. The site won't shut down in a week if we don't raise funds or anything like that, but there are somethings we need/should do that require funding. And we will eventually need to take over the costs of the domain name and hosting from Colin. tmtoulouse heckle 16:47, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
Is Colin, um, alive or anything?--PalMD-Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice! 20:37, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

Apparently your real name was a blocked string at CP. Brilliant that someone would do that and never have heard, say, of the Council of Trent. humanbe in 19:34, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Thats way too catholic for CP. tmtoulouse heckle 19:35, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Hehe, yeah, that's what I discovered when I googled it to make sure I hadn't made it up! And, dood, lately your speling has been, uh, more creative than usual. Newton get on your apple, did he? humanbe in 19:51, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Eh, it is more related to personal stress and lack of sleep then anything Newton is doing. Though Newton certainly seems to be a challenge for me to ignore. tmtoulouse heckle 19:54, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
I just ask(ed) him to reciprocate on the spamming (ie, to us from "his" site/article). Oh, and took some copper sulfate. humanbe in 20:00, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
The novelty of it is starting to wear off, he is not really much of a rhetorical match, I think I am almost ready to start being more hands off the next time he pops up. CP sysops are like a black hole they just seem to drain productivity and fun wherever they go. CP itself must be what happens when half a dozen such black holes merge. The horror. tmtoulouse heckle 20:03, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Weren't you once a CP sysop? Bohdan 20:06, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Yeah, he was...for about 62 minutes. --transResident Transfanform! 20:08, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Oh I am permanently altered for my 62 minutes of sysopship at CP. But I am seeking professional help and I like to think I am getting...better... tmtoulouse heckle 21:49, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

I can practicaly feel you draining my productivity now. Bohdan 22:36, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Actually, you appear to be permanently damaged. You do realize, for instance, that you dropped a talk page comment on all the project whitewash people and signed off with "Godspeed"? Hmmmm, well, you always did admit to being a sock of Andrew Schlafly... humanbe in 21:54, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Hey, as much as I think I'm just wonderful, I don't feel comfortable recat'ing articles that I had a big hand in, so I'm gonna troll for others for labeling as best of, etc.--PalMD-Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice! 21:57, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Tmtoulouse, you said you were bored. Would you care to debate? Bohdan

What about it? tmtoulouse heckle 23:06, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Your Canadian, right? Hockey? Bohdan
I am not actually, I am ex-pat citizen of the good ol'US of A. I tried to get into Hockey so I could bond with the "guys" but it didn't stick. tmtoulouse heckle 23:09, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Thats a shame. A great philosopher said that hockey leads to happiness. Bohdan 23:11, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
I did briefly get into curling. tmtoulouse heckle 23:14, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
ha! Thats not even a sport! Bohdan

No its not, but hypnotic none-the-less. tmtoulouse heckle 23:17, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Do you care to discuss free-will? Bohdan 23:19, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

I assume you are a determinist of course right? tmtoulouse heckle 23:22, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
i certainly am a determinist, but I haven't yet quite decided all the details. And what are your views? Bohdan
Free will is a fraud. Well I "decided" it was a fraud but then again maybe it was decided for me? CЯacke® 23:54, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
