2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Ariel Toaff (1942–) is a notorious Israeli rabbi and university professor of Judeo-Italian descent who is accused of being an antisemitic crank. His father was Chief Rabbi of Rome. He is author of the pseudohistorical book Pasque di sangue. Ebrei d'Europa e omicidi rituali (Passovers of Blood: The Jews of Europe and Ritual Murders), which claims that the myth that Jews drink the blood of Christian babies is based on some true instances.[1]

Noted Jewish community leader Abraham Foxman condemned Toaff's work, saying "It is incredible that anyone ... would give legitimacy to the baseless blood libel accusation that has been the source of much suffering and attacks against Jews historically."[2]
