Questions people are asking[edit]
First thing first: I'm not saying Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young woman in 1990...I'm just afraid that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young woman in 1990. People are asking questions about Glenn Beck raping and murdered a woman in 1990 and Glenn Beck's silence on the matter of a 1990 rape-murder of a young woman has been deafening. Should this controversy be discussed in the article? — Signed, by: Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 21:55, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- No. ħuman 22:08, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

What Glenn Beck has said about rape and rapists[edit]
- Glenn Beck wants rapists to be happy
“”Let's get rapists to rape child rapists, that way everybody in prison is happy.
|
- Glenn Beck has made questionable statements regarding his participation in rape:
“”I say we rape these guys at the top of every hour.
|
- and murder:
“”[T]he platform plank on pedophiles for Beck '08 was shoot them in the head.

- He's an asshole and an idiot, but let's not go there ourselves. SuspectedReplicant (talk) 23:17, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Would a real conservative ever suggest raping someone? We should not ignore evidence out of hand just because discussing rape is a faux pas. What I'm about to say is 100% factual: Has Glenn Beck ever endorsed rape? Yes. Has Glenn Beck ever endorsed taking the life of another? Yes. Is there evidence (albeit tenuous and is probably fake) suggesting that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young woman in 1990? Yes. Has Glenn Beck ever denied raping and murdering a young woman in 1990? No. Is there any evidence absolving Glenn Beck of the vicious rape-murder of a young woman in 1990? No. In my opinion, this adds up to more than can be ignored. — Signed, by: Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 23:23, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- What I said last time. Don't do this. Okay, I'm not a Yank so maybe I shouldn't be talking about this, but beyond a basic level of "This guy does this so we can do it", I don't think RW shold be getting involved. FACT (or so it seems): There's a charge sheet: FACT: It's in the name of Glenn Beck. Let's leave it at that - exactly as he does. Don't go further. You're asking for trouble. SuspectedReplicant (talk) 23:44, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to go further. I'm not saying that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young woman. In fact, I'm going on record in saying that he probably didn't. But some people are saying he did. I don't know. What I do know (and what I don't understand) is why Glenn Beck continually refuses to acknowledge or refute this. — Signed, by: Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 23:50, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Okay... I think. Remember that when he was laughed at on lots of blogs for spelling "oligarchy" without the "c" he picked up on it within 24 hours. This means that he knows this rumour is out there, and it probably means he's trying to decide how to respond. It might be "ignore"; it might be "dismiss" or it might be some other think that could fuck up a lot of people. My attitude here is that while I support the people that kicked off the idea to illustrate a point, I also think that he was fucking his own show up well enough (46 advertisers cancelled?) that it wasn't necessary to pile on in such an inflammatory way. - Glenn Beck has gone to court over the matter, not to sue for defamation, but claiming a violation of the web site name, glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com.
- My question is, which part is he claiming copyright over– name, rape, or murder?

Good Gravy, just watch...........[edit]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMwZ76QB7uk&feature=sub Where's Rod Serling when you need him?
- Yep. I'm definitely with the theory that he's actually cynically exploiting American patriots (well, all mentions of patriotism are cynically exploitative). That entire thing has all the hallmarks of evangelism; prep your audience, shock them, rile them up, then offer the conclusion and solution that you've spent so much time doing - and they'll accept it because you lay the ground work with the shock tactics. pathetic 12:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Watch the movie Network[edit]
Go out and rent a DVD of the excellent movie from the 1970's, Network. Watch it. I'll wait till you come back.
- Steps out for lunch and a cigarette
I'm a fan of the movie. Until I heard of Glenn Beck, I thought the movie was merely a scarily accurate prediction of what American media has become.
Post Glenn Beck, though... I'm convinced the movie borders on prophetic. I'm tellin' ya, Glenn Beck is a real life version of Howard Beale.
Is there really a difference between the 9/12 teabagging parties he flogged and Beale telling people to go to their windows and yell, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore!"?
I just hope there's a William Holden at Fox News who realizes they're creating a monster before Faye Dunaway (stops to avoid spoiling the ending). MDB 17:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think there's a difference. But then, I don't think Glenn means everything he says. If he's really that crazy, then maybe not. Researcher 01:03, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Gold[edit]
The gold sellers are prolific on talk radio, and usually pay the "extra" to get the hosts to do the ads. Make sure we aren't just reporting on a common ad scheme. I remember hearing one of the first (to me), with Randi Rhodes talking about the imminent economic collapse and why I need to buy gold, pretty creepy until I realized it was a paid "host-read" ad. Of course, Beck probably went the extra mile with it... ħuman 00:53, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- Beck does go an extra mile, and does more than just paid "host-read" ads. He shills for it on the regular TV show as well, making up stupid arguments about how having gold will protect you when the government comes to take everything away from you. (Not sure how that's supposed to work...) Researcher (talk) 03:50, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe he making a castle out of gold bricks?--Thanatos (talk) 03:54, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- I always assumed you wanted a giant stockpile of gold so when the economy collapses and random gangs are looting they'll see you home and shoot you first, thus sparing you of such a horrible life..... But I'm cynical like that. SirChuckBWhatever happened to Skip It? 12:34, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Not buying it. Checked this ref, it's just a calm, slow paced add for goldline. I am going to delete the section as being a complete accident written by people who mix up the host-read ads and the show. ħuman 07:28, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
I laughed so hard at this[edit]

If I get a copy of the Overton Window...[edit]
I would be willing to review his latest "work" if it would be okay to post it onsite. Granted, I might also then start posting reviews of other books, such as Koushun Takami's "Battle Royale" (which is awesome) or "Jurassic Park". Don't worry, I'd talk about the politics of each book. So, what do we say?--Thanatos (talk) 21:05, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- If you do that, just be sure to get it from your local library. That way, it's ironic because it comes from a government (oh me, oh my!) institution, and you also don't directly give money to Glenn Beck. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 21:34, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- But if I do buy it, I can set fire to it on youtube. Plus, I don't have to worry about late fees. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those books I have to force myself to read.--Thanatos (talk) 22:05, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- "RW Reviews" is something I've been meaning to start for a while, so I'd say go for it. pathetic 23:54, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Normally, I'd agree that buying the book would be a good idea. However, Glenn Beck is such an asshole, in my opinion, that, if it were me, I'd have to disinfect myself after I bought one of his books. But, whatever. Just try to get a used copy if you can. And use a couple pages as toilet paper, too. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 00:04, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
