Rare genetics[edit]

Does this mean it can result in superpowers for extremely rare cases? =_= Fuzzy|AFD 20:57, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

I expect that, just like, by quantum physics, I could become a frog right now, it could happen. It just ain't going to.-αmεσ (tailor) 20:59, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

Bible[edit]

Filled with incest--at least, the first few books. Adam and Eve had a few sons, Cain, Abel, eventually Seth... uhh, incest had to happen next, n'est pas? =_= Fuzzy|AFD 21:03, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

If, as Schlafly would have us believe, nothing outside of the Bible happened, then you are absolutely right.-αmεσ (tailor) 21:06, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
I for one am inclined to agree that most of humanity is inbred, it explains why we're so fucked up--BenB (talk) 03:03, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
I remember reading here that Seth knew his sister, Azura. Cain's wife was named Awan. Hurray for Wikipedia! The Heidelberg Kid (talk) 01:53, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Although it's not mentioned in this article, the same would have been the case for the offspring of the children of Noah, after the flood that killed everyone else.Carlo Landzaat (talk) 01:06, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

WIncest[edit]

How to deal with incest and inbreeding articles?[edit]

I just noticed that incest and inbreeding both have articles but are very similar terms that have major overlap. Said terms cover a lack of genetic diversity within a population because of closely related members. Wikipedia handles it by having incestWikipedia deal with human society while inbreedingWikipedia deals with the biology view. How should be deal with this on RationalWiki?—Hamburguesa con queso con un cara Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 21:57, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

First, incest, compared to inbreeding, carries a very heavy negative connotation. Second, I think incest is a category under inbreeding rather than being synonymous with it. I think we should have a short paragraph on inbreeding and link it to the main article that focuses on the biological aspect of of it while the incest can deal with the taboo and the history behind it. So, in other words, similar to Wikipedia. I think it's already doing this, though perhaps the "Science in action" part can be trimmed down so there isn't duplicate information. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 23:26, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
