Left of reason?[edit]

I’m sorry, but isn’t this category about sane leftists? Every time I see him, I get some moonbat vibes out of him. The dude is currently getting pissed at AOC for not doing the stupid M4A stunt that Jimmy Dore is promoting. (talk) 15:33, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Criticism of policy strategy is not moonbattery, fool. A pandemic is the perfect moment to implement M4A. Especially because AOC tried to play nice with establishment by refusing to back primary challenges and try to work within the system of Congress. And now the establishment is rewarding her by stabbing her in the back.—Tuxer (talk) 22:36, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Don't bother. This server is filled with liberal fools. Oxyaena Harass 02:18, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Dude, seriously? Again? Twodots (talk) 02:21, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
...Wow. I know this site has been drifting leftward, but I didn’t think it would reach the point where editors can’t recognize an obvious stupid-ass scheme that is only being advocated by the dumbest of moonbats. And did one of you seriously used liberal as an insult? (talk) 22:59, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Uh, no, Oxy's just very far left. Most of us are centre-left. If anything, we've been drifting closer to the centre. And yes, she does use liberal as an insult. She's an AnCom... Twodots (talk) 23:45, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
I wonder how y'all think Canada got its healthcare system. Probably with hugs and puppies.–Tuxer (talk) 11:08, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
I highly doubt it was because of a small group of far-left anarcho-communist wannabe revolutionaries who occasionally edited an obscure website. Twodots (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
No, it was because of politicians who weren’t giant shitheads who were more interested in being cool revolutionaries than creating socialist policies. Like, you know that the Liberals were responsible for Canada’s healthcare system, right? (talk) 15:50, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
Damn straight. Twodots (talk) 16:28, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
@Tuxer @Oxyaena You're both idiots. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 16:53, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
@GrammarCommie No, moron. It was because in 1944 the socialist Cooperative Commonwealth Party won the Saskatchewan election amidst the Great Depression and implemented government-run healthcare. The program was replicated in other provinces and later was expanded nationwide in 1984. But it was necessary for a left-wing group to actually implement the program to get the ball rolling instead of doing useless piecemal. You can read more here, assume you know how to read. I doubt that Biden will do anything further than tweaking the rotting corpse of Obamacare because he and the rest of the Dems are corrupt.–Tuxer (talk) 20:56, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
@Tuxer That's interesting, but why are you pinging me and not the BoN? ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 21:17, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
“useless piecemal”. That’s funny coming from a guy who is calling AOC a neolib sellout for not doing a symbolic vote that is doomed to fail. Also why did you pin GrammerCommie and not me? (talk) 23:42, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
Criticism of policy strategy does not make one a moonbat. Fuck off, you liberal shit. Oxyaena Harass 00:02, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
@Oxyaena Cool it. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 00:09, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
I never thought I would see the day where a registered Rationalwiki user would use the term “liberal” as an insult. (talk) 02:34, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Again, Oxy's an AnCom. She is not representative of the majority. Twodots (talk) 02:46, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, didn’t mean to generalize. I just find it really hard odd that a site that has always oriented to the center-left managed to attract a moonbat like her. (talk) 03:05, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────It's fine, just try not to do it in the future. Interestingly, we used to be farther left. Oxy is actually the last of an old faction of far-lefties. The centre-ward shift is semi-recent, to my knowledge. She's managed to hang around by (usually) being nice and making constructive edits. She's come close to being banned a few times, though. Oh, on a side note: Please don't call her a moonbat. Regardless of whether it's accurate or not, she tends to take things like that very personally, and I could do without the drama. Twodots (talk) 03:14, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

The wiki started somewhat center-left. It moved starkly to the left in 2015-2016 with a good number of new hard-left editors. Since then (and since most of them LANCBed) it's been moving closer to center again. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 10:37, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Actually, the wiki didn't really have a political stance early on. Most of the editors were probably center-left, but the idea was more about correcting and trolling cranks and religious nuts. Economics didn't really enter into it initially. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 10:46, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
What does LANCBed mean? 2600:387:8:11:0:0:0:B4 (talk) 18:21, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier, but it means " Leaving and Never Coming Back". LANCBs rarely last and the editors end up returning after all, usually to tell us that we're all a bunch of poopyheads. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 15:20, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Okay, so why is criticizing policy strategy moonnbattery? Oxyaena Harass 15:15, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Because you’re not criticizing policy strategy. You’re calling the congresswoman who aligned with you the most a traitor for disagreeing with you strategically. 2600:387:8:11:0:0:0:B4 (talk) 18:21, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
That's the long and short of it really. Politics is about knowing when to bet, and more importantly when to fold so you don't lose all your chips. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 18:34, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
So having a problem with someone who refuses to back primary challengers and curtows to the establishment makes one a moonbat? OK. Oxyaena Harass 20:12, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
What the hell are you talking about? 2600:387:8:11:0:0:0:B4 (talk) 20:44, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
There are times when I look at others on the left and wonder how they and I overlap politically. This is one of those times. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 20:55, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

So is war crime denialism okay now?[edit]

After reading the article, I definitely agree with the BoN that he's not "Left of Reason." Not calling him a moonbat, but someone that flat-out denies that the Syrian government launched chemical gas attacks on their own citizens is NOT reasonable, especially with the ample evidence that supports it. We have whole articles about people who are Assad apologists; SyrianGirl comes to mind. IveBeenFrank (talk) 14:57, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Kulinski has been going off the rails since 2016 from what I've heard. This incident doesn't surprise me and I'd second a motion to re-classify him as more fringe than he's currently categorized as. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 15:55, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! Seriously, it was already questionable to categorize him as being left of reason due to the denialism, but his support for the stupid #ForceTheVote thing makes it blatantly clear he should not be in this category. For god’s sake, you guys don’t even categorize The Young Turks as being left of reason, and they are way more reasonable then Kyle. (talk) 17:48, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
I removed the protection due to IveBeenFranks argument being sensible. I don't think someone should be removed from any "Horizontal Direction of Reason" category, because they are wrong on single issue. That's what the Inverse stopped clock stands for. But the Syrian chemical weapons denialism is pretty bad, even if as I understand it it derives from Kyles opposition to non UN sanctioned interventionism by United States.
Still, please let some people on the other side weigh in on what is starting to turn into constructive discussion before making any unilateral changes to the article. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 18:23, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Left of reason consensus[edit]

Someone just deleted the "left of reason" category even though there's no consensus as the discussion quickly degenerated into online hairpulling. Let's put this behind us by the ballot. Otherwise this will last for weeks of edit warring. –Tuxer (talk) 18:45, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

  1. Guess we really like change at a snail's pace around here. IveBeenFrank (talk) 00:55, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

But there is a consensus... Everyone who has weighed in agrees that the category is an incorrect classification of this subject, and thusly should be changed or removed. As such, a formal vote is unneeded at this time. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 18:55, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Exactly. IveBeenFrank (talk) 19:00, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
Jesus Christ, this shit is still going on? Oxyaena Harass 19:26, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
No you claim that but the online hairpulling above just shows bickering. Just fucking vote ffs. Will your wrist fall off? - Tuxer (talk) 00:52, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Moved information about kratom to "Legal Highs"[edit]

Just making note that I moved a large chunk of text from here to here. It went in depth about various aspects of the drug Kratom but this is largely irrelevant to Kyle. Added link to Kratom in case reader is further interested. Kauri0.o (talk) 22:36, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Covid misinformation[edit]

Kulinski is now endorsing, if not outright promoting the conspiracy theory that Covid-19 was created in a PRC lab. 22:25, 7 April 2021 (UTC) — Unsigned, by: GrammarCommie / talk / contribs

That's a misrepresentation. He's endorsing the theory that it was being studied in a Chinese lab and escaped due to poor safety procedures, not that it was deliberately released. 20:36, 3 June 2021 (UTC) Meshakhad
