Talk:Tom Cruise
Help?[edit]
Scheisse, I can't run it. Is there a transcript anywhere? SusanPurrrrrrr 15:17, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- I've put a link to a transcript. Do we want to put up our own copy?--Bobbing up 15:28, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- As I was getting bored watching it, I thought, "dang, I'd rather read a transcript unless he jumps over a couch." Then I noticed you had added the link. I vote for printing it here. human 15:53, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- As I said elsewhere, I honestly don't think that, for a religion, it's really that weird. I mean, it's weird, but I've heard similar stuff from Christian fundamentalists.--Bobbing up 15:56, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Agreed, but we lambaste them too :). The CoS is no worse than the worst of the xians, but its no better than the worst. It's about as far bad as a religion can go in my opinion. tmtoulouse harass 15:58, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Is it? I'm not convinced.--Bobbing up 16:01, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- The question of what makes a Religion really bad is not its mythology but its actions. The CoS actively seeks to destroy the lives of its critics, I mean completely destroy. It's fair game policy is insane. It has been linked to deaths, it has attempted infiltration of the IRS and other government agencies. It bullies anyone and everyone that questions them. They use lawsuits as everyone knows, but they will send out church members to picket in front of critics houses with signs accusing them of pedophilia or worse. Strange fucked up stuff. Then their is what they do to the lives of the people in the church. The demands for money, the removal from friends and family....its Jesus Camp with a heftier price tag. tmtoulouse harass 16:05, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Not to mention the entire psychiatry thing. It is actively harmful.162.82.215.199 16:11, 23 January 2008 (EST)

Transcript[edit]
Purely on a pedantic note; the music isn't actually the Mission Impossible theme. Its a parody theme. I'm sure the CoS doesn't have any copyright dispensions to use MI and knowing how they use copyright agianst their critics it would be a serious boo-boo for them to cock that up. But it's so fucking annoying! Genghis Marauding 17:04, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- PS what was TC on when he recorded that? Laughing gas? LSD?

Cruise, however, "jumped the couch", and forever lost the respect of whatever fans he had...?[edit]
Forgive the intrusion. I make edits according to random page suggestion and whatever is in current changes at the time. I know Scientology is bad and a grift. I don't know if Cruse believes it is real religion. But he is much bigger star now than he ever was. Thought last Top Gun OK, myself. Article suggests he is unimportant as star. - It was written many years ago and it's clearly inaccurate. Cruise is sometimes regarded as the "last Hollywood star". While I personally think this is also wrong, he's not by any means unpopular right now. I removed it. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 17:24, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
