45,000 a year sex slaves[edit]

"The Central Intelligence Agency estimates that 45,000 women [over age 18] and CHILDREN [!!] are smuggled into the United States each year with false promises of decent jobs....." That would be 2,250,000 in just the last 50 years! Capitalists are sick for causing this! Men are sick! They think men NEED sex slaves! http://www.nytimes.com/2000/09/09/opinion/modern-day-slavery.html Klop789 (talk) 03:33, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

@Klop789, not to say that your argument is wrong (I agree), but "2,250,000" assumes that it's been an average of 45,000 for each of the last 50 years, which is unsupportable given the massive changes in the world over the last 50 years. It's also my understanding that not all are sex slaves, although I grant that it's probably few, and also not all traffickers are male; one woman in the news recently is accused of being a trafficker. 2603:8080:BB02:2ECA:5C93:3685:4350:666D (talk) 00:10, 25 January 2021 (UTC).

"Conservative views" section is poorly rationalized and contradictory[edit]

The first sentence of this section reduces white American culture and the desire for those people to preserve an identity as just "white supremacism." The next sentence mentions a book about the issue of illegal immigration and how it affects the native population of the country, which is then called racist with no further comment. No counter-arguments, just the implication that they should be seen as wrong.

Then, two paragraphs down, it says "Such illegal invasion into native lands has actually happened, complete with systematic destruction of native races, customs, social norms, and culture overall" with a link to the destruction of the Native American people, which is included as a "gotcha" for Conservatives somehow instead of being seen as a supporting argument for the previously deemed "racist, xenophobic" belief that foreign cultures could destroy their way of life or replace them in their native land.

So what is this section trying to say? That native Americans were racist "Native Supremacists" who deserved what they got? That it couldn't happen to white Americans and to think that it could makes you a bad person? That it will happen to white Americans but that it's okay because they deserve it for being bad people? — Unsigned, by: 2600:8807:5402:5900:A5B8:B147:65A:4EEC / talk

Immigration pros and cons[edit]

Should there be a discussion of the pros and cons of immigration? 2603:8080:BB02:2ECA:5C93:3685:4350:666D (talk) 00:13, 25 January 2021 (UTC).

Ok, I see that Myths and facts about immigration to the United States seems to cover this. 2603:8080:BB02:2ECA:5C93:3685:4350:666D (talk) 01:14, 25 January 2021 (UTC).

Bible Verses[edit]

The Bible verses quoted are adequate, though most Christians can pretty justifiably say that Leviticus doesn't really guide them. I'll dig through the Gospels and New Testament for examples, if thats ok? --96.35.60.159 (talk) 16:09, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

The new additions from this BoN are fine. Just going to preempt a dispute here. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 19:14, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Move to "undocumented immigration"[edit]

There are many reasons why the phrase "illegal immigration" is problematic [1] but a major problem is that most "illegal" immigrants are here because their visas expired rather than because they committed a criminal offense, and immigration is a civil matter rather than a criminal one anyway. Plus, all of the problems when you call people "illegal". We should be better than this and use the term "undocumented", which while not perfect has considerably less problems and is preferred by the overwhelming majority of advocate groups. Hell, this article primarily uses the term "undocumented", so I don't see why this is still at this title. If there are no objections within the next day or so, I will move this. Plutocow (talk) 23:25, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Anti-immigration category[edit]

I've been thinking about creating one for a while. What do you guys think? GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 20:17, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

What would it be called? And would this be categorized under racism since most anti-immigrant sentiment at least in the U.S. and in Europe are this? --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 00:23, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
