Say hi.

Why the edit revert?[edit]

Hi there, Could you please let me know why you reverted my edits to ? If you look at the edits I made, you'll see that all of them added to the accuracy of the article and removed unfounded claims like "He and Tulsi have been running a string of "nonprofits" for a while." (the citation is one article in which a single nonprofit is mentioned, and that nonprofit is an actual nonprofit, no quotation marks) or "Tulsi claims to have distanced herself from her father's politics, but her staff and supporters are straight out of the original anti-gay group." (Two of the articles are from 2004, before Tulsi distanced herself, and the other two articles make no mention of her staff being anti-gay. There's also no conclusive evidence that her supporters are largely anti-gay.)

Please take another look at my edits, or at least tell me why they were reverted so that I could try again while avoiding those mistakes.

--Mirek (talk) 15:42, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Tulsi was busy being anti-LGBT (and anti trans) only a few months ago, and this sudden apology and "support" is literally just for her campaign. There is nothing wrong with the article as written. Dysklyver 16:22, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
Could you cite some primary sources to that fact? She has a stellar voting record when in comes to LGBTQ rights, with the Human Rights Campaign giving her a perfect score of 100 for her last term in Congress, and mentioned the importance of LGBTQ equality in her campaign launch speech.
Either way, whether she said something anti-LGBT recently is not relevant to this conversation, as that particular claim was never in the article I edited. I'm all for exposing the negatives about Tulsi or anyone else for that matter, but the article contains a number of unsubstantiated claims as well as some straight-out lies (see my edit history as well as the comments for each edit; I mention 2 of these claims above). I hope you'll agree with me that it's important to stick to factual information here rather than resorting to slander and lies, as the current article does in some instances. If you have first-hand evidance of anti-LGBT statements from Tulsi, feel free to add them to the article. Either way, please revert my edits (and feel free to fact-check them).
--Mirek (talk) 19:31, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
I'd really appreciate it if you replied to my comments. As stated before, I'm not against criticism against Gabbard, but that criticism should be fair and founded in facts. My edits, if you take a look at them and the sources behind them, were simply about removing lies from the article. (If you take a look at the talk page for the article, you'll see a number of people have expressed that the article reads like a hitpiece, although they refer to edits at various points in time.) If you'd like well-researched arguments against Tulsi, this video goes over a few (both pros and cons): , with an addendum at . I don't want to start an edit war over this, but if you don't reply to my comments, I plan to add my edits back.
--Mirek (talk) 16:03, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Mirek ok hang on and I will take another look at it. Dysklyver 16:10, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Is it OK[edit]

If people edit your drafts? RoninMacbeth (talk) 12:51, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

RoninMacbeth It sure is, they are only drafts because I don't consider them finished enough to have in mainspace yet. Add whatever you like. Dysklyver (talk) 13:28, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

So... why are you so blocked from Wikimedia projects?[edit]

Is it just because you socked a lot? —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 01:27, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

I stood for their Arbcom election. Got blocked. Evaded with a new account. Got banned. Evaded that with a succession of accounts. Got globally locked. Dysklyver 08:31, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
I don't hang around Wikipedia, but... is "Arbcom" the arbitration committee? What does that actually do, and why were you blocked the first time? Just curious. —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 10:59, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
The Arbitration Committee is sort of a coop/mods combi. See Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee. I got blocked because well, this:

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing per the consensus and your own consent here.
After 6 months you can apply for the block to be lifted, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
This was of course later replaced with a ban. Dysklyver 11:37, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
There's so much bureaucracy there I can hardly make out what the issue is... is it just that you were doing some things they didn't like? Regardless, just try not to cause trouble around here eh? —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 11:45, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
The nub of the issue is basically that some topics are sacred. (I nominated some biscuits for deletion and some administrators did not approve). It is amazing how much bureaucracy it took to get rid of me from that point onwards. Made much harder by the whole Arbcom election bureaucracy, and the ongoing attempt to out-wikilawyer a lawyer. Dysklyver 12:28, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Indent your first replies[edit]

Multiple times now, you've responded to a post without indenting. You know how to do it, so do it please :) —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 12:31, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Do not encourage vandalism[edit]

Unless it is a link to your account, you should remove the "Click here to vandalise!!!" link on your user page. CowHouse (talk) 04:22, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

Hey little buddies![edit]

@Kingdamian1 I'm still waiting for that Florida Department of Agriculture to come and get me at the Miami airport that you think I'm located at! I'm sitting here in my boiler room watching Dexter, waiting for Adam Putnam's swat team to take me down. Fucktards.... ZombiesRComing (talk) 21:19, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Yeah I gave up on that when I realized that Miami was the wrong place. Chill. Dysklyver 22:13, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Tables are bad[edit]

Not the colours so much, but if it all works properly I see no reason I couldn't push your mockup to the actual main page. Death to table-based layout! —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 05:37, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

@Kazitor It should all work, most of it is inspired by the main page at Wikipedia and various portals I did there. Dysklyver 10:09, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

Nominating everyone ain't great[edit]

I know free and fair elections, but you should seriously only nominate people you would be okay with modding you. I can't take words from your mouth, or deny you the chance to pick users you personally feel are appropriate, but I caution against your choice. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 21:24, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Ha! Well you never know, the good candidates might forget to accept the nominations and let... well I did try and pick a fair representation of loons... um, better make sure the most sensible candidates are running eh. Dysklyver 02:57, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
"a fair representation of loons" I hope I'm not considered to be one of these loons :p --RWRW (talk) 03:03, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
I was on the fence until I saw your propaganda, really the main loon category includes "Fake news", the Grand RW Judge (who my have problem accepting the nomination due to being blocked) and my sockpuppet, etc. Dysklyver 03:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
You should also inform nominees on their talk page with {{modnotice}} CowHouse (talk) 03:04, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
ya, will do. Dysklyver 03:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Done. Although it might seem like a nominated everyone, I really haven't and there is still room to seek out and nominate a few more. Dysklyver

I already know...[edit]

... About my nomination. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 03:21, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

A word of Thanks[edit]

I want to thank you for nominating me for a moderator spot in the election. I don't know where you place me on the spectrum between the competent and the catastrophic, nevertheless I quite enjoyed the mention. Thanks again, Ariel31459 (talk) 02:33, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Oh, shit. Brain fart on my part. Just saw the edit summary. Still, I recommend keeping the [redacted] in place with auto[redacted] enabled.--Don Juan (talk) 16:06, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Yes no worries. The best thing would probably be to rewrite the comment minus the bit I was complaining about. Dysklyver 16:07, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Activity in other wikis don't qualify. Focus the scope on this wiki. Permaban is inappropriate. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 20:35, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
this is one of their esteemed contributions to this wiki earlier. I have unblocked, but am completely convinced they will be a complete pain in the proverbials and be permabanned by someone else for something else later, as they have before. Indeed I am pretty certain the only reason they are here is as a wind-up... Dysklyver 20:57, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
I would agree to a short-term block. Three days block is fine for me, and the user can spend the rest of its numbered days in the vandal bin. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 23:20, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

About that guy...[edit]

Come to any conclusions about it yet? I don't want to be too hasty, it might be him turning over a new leaf, or a potential new editor who has nothing to do with EIK. Ɖøn Ĵuan (talk) 11:15, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

The normal spam has a distinct pattern, and this doesn't match it and no further similar spam has appeared. I think it is just a Fun:Elvis Presley fan who could maybe be a contributor, although his stated aim "to share with others some facts/collections about Elvis that are rare and ... cool" may not be particularly missional. And the whole thing could have just been a joke, given that he didn't reappear. I think we just leave it go and worry about it if he comes back and adds Elvis facts to every single article. :D Dysklyver 13:15, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Aye, maybe this place was too public for conspiring. That isn't a bad idea, the best thing about bank robbery is you don't have to pay tax on the money you 'earn'. --RWRW (talk) 15:26, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
There's always the Cabal to do your evil plotting, of which there is none. Ɖøn Ĵuan Harass 16:27, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Hey thanks for unblocking me, but I see you said I am "dodgy". Why do you say that? You can checkuser my account and you will see I am editing from (redacted), other than that, I don't know why you would say that, but I am sorry if I did something wrong. Public School Girl (talk) 18:24, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

We say that because other supposed "high school students" have turned out to be nothing more than mere trolls, you are suspect because of that. Don't be a troll, and you won't be suspect. On another note, to not have yourself become suspect, I suggest you request a name chance, @Public School Girl. Judging from the comments you've left behind, I`m starting to suspect you're legitimate, but I`m still cautious regardless. Ɖøn Ĵuan To Harass and Intimidate 18:34, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh. I totally get that. I'm not going to lie, my freshman year I vandalized a bunch of pages on Wikipedia, and I kind of feel bad about it, but that was four years ago. I will try to think of something to change the name to, but I have to go for now because the bell is about to ring. Public School Girl (talk) 18:49, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
At first glance it looked the spambots were doing their thing again, your userpage is so similar to what they use. I half expected links to diet pill sites to be added immediately when I unblocked. Anyway, enjoy your stay. Dysklyver 20:28, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Could you give me some tips on what to change about the TFL page? Riptohelsinway (talk) 04:26, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

I would suggest either the expand it as a page, or to merge it as suggested on the AfD, in which case it could be a redirect. Dysklyver 10:22, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
So the main problem with the page is that its too short? Riptohelsinway (talk) 23:49, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Too short/insufficient content, not enough depth to the topic put forward. Dysklyver 23:50, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Is the article ready for mainspace yet? I expanded it: Draft:TFLism. Riptohelsinway (talk) 16:39, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
It's an improvement, but I feel like it is still in need of expansion. I think maybe further analysis of some of the key figures could help. Also archive links to relevant deleted content could be worth finding if possible, as the article has become a little short of citations now. Dysklyver 16:54, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

I find Nobs comment in the Saloon bar to be highly offensive, "Seroquel? 'Splains it all." Nobs appears to be bullying RationalZombie based on his stated medical condition. Why do you feel the need to un-collapse it? Bongolian (talk) 19:50, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Yeah, seriously, people get on me for being rude to people, but that shit is inhuman especially for someone who is clearly working on finding acceptance of their mental illness. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 19:55, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
So remove it, collapsing it makes it 1000% more visible and is well annoying, because people replied, etc. Collapsing should be done to an entire section/sub-section, or not at all. Habitually putting all of nobs comments into bright little boxes is not helping. Dysklyver 20:56, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
thats a lot of shit and removing comments in itsown right is problematic. collapsing means you can see what was said if you want while warning you not to engage with the twat. AMassiveGay (talk) 21:24, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Comments that amount to bullying are worthy of deletion in my view. Other things that are generically offensive are probably not unless they're directed at an editor (Holocaust denialism, sexism, racism). Bongolian (talk) 21:50, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
The community habitually rejects any policy to specifically deal with the problem of talk page etiquette. But collapsing every single comment made by nobs is not a satisfactory long term solution. I stand by the point that either you take the comment out of the thread and collapse it, or collapse the thread, or remove the comment. And that collapsing a single comment while leaving it in the thread is no good. Dysklyver 22:03, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. This has been enlightening. I guess a discussion on prenatal screening for aborting a Down syndrome fetus would be inappropriate for the Saloon bar. nobs piss in my ear 02:23, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
Trust me, you already know what everyone would say about it. Dysklyver 11:42, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
