Essay talk:Very fine people Hoax
The context isn't particularly exculpatory.[edit]
It's true that he made a point of distinguishing his lack of support for neo-nazis, but to fail to understand that "Unite the Right" was organized by a neonazi group, the marchers' collectively and organizedly shouted neonazi slogans, was clearly centered of protecting an icon of slavery as its basis, and was part of a larger trend of neo-nazi terrorism isn't reasonable. The best you're gonna get out of this line of argumentation is a Hanlon's razor reduction where trump stupidly supported nazis, rather than maliciously. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 15:17, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- Also, stupidity and malice are not mutually exclusive as tRump so ably demonstrates. Bongolian (talk) 17:03, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Some RW editors seem to to have trouble with factuality[edit]
The "very fine people" hoax has been debunked years ago, yet editors on "RATIONALWiki" still repeat it. In fact, they dodge the very specific phrase Trump said specifying the differentiation between the good and bad protesters. LTMay Dataclarifier be well! 17:55, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Fine people "hoax" is just disingenuous semantic shit[edit]
We get it, Trump is a gibbering idiot who can't clearly communicate. This whole "debate" over what he actually meant is trite and wastes time, and it's often initiated by those defending the indefensible. Trump took forever to condemn the neo nazis in the protests, and when he did, he was all wishy washy and went to emotional abuser talk with "eh both sides are just as bad." That's what matters to me, as well as Trump's weak, delayed, pathetic response that tells me everything about him, on top of reinforcing his reputation as a neo nazi coddler. I read this "debunk". It misses the point. What doesn't matter is Trump, backed into a corner, now saying, "oh yeah we should condemn... Uh.... Neo nazis I think". --It's-a me, 🎄LeftyGreenMario!🎄 18:41, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- Of course we actual rational people are missing the real point specified by jenius RW editors, because Trump's actual denouncing of the bad protesters isn't important once we point out the part of the transcript/video where Trump clearly makes clear the difference between the good and bad people there. - There were no "good" people at Unite the Right. Once people start showing up with Nazi flags, you're either against them or with them. The "good" people at Unite the Right were not against the neo-Nazis. Chef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 18:58, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- @LeftyGreenMario Trump took forever to condemn the neo nazis in the protests, and when he did, he was all wishy washy I have no problem with anybody who is arguing so. My problem is with the hoax that Trump called neo-Nazis very fine people. One thing is criticizing Trump for the things he does and says. Totally legit. Another thing is accusing Trump for a thing he never said. Totally dishonest.Pam (talk) 20:45, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe that's a technicality but it's splitting hairs to argue semantics especially regarding a man whose speech pattern resembles a throbbing inflated throat sac that expunges lies so often. I think people are wasting time trying to make sense of what this man is trying to say when he already established such a strong characterization of racism and xenophobia. --It's-a me, 🎄LeftyGreenMario!🎄 23:52, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Very Unfair![edit]
The lamestream media recorded Trump's voice and broadcast it. They made him look like an idiot. Mean! 77.101.82.205 (talk) 21:31, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
This is a joke, right?[edit]
