Delete[edit]
- The category is poorly defined as it is currently being used. "Murder" is not the same as "people who have killed". Killing can be 1) self-defense (not murder) 2) in war (generally not murder) or 3) manslaughter (not murder, but illegal). Bongolian (talk) 05:55, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- Poorly defined, emotionally loaded. Potentially libelous (Category:Criminals has this disclaimer too). We have other better categories to saddle awful people with. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 03:26, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- It's for the best. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 03:55, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- In point of fact I can't see any great problem on the pages where it is actually being used. But something clearer would be better. "Convicted murderers" perhaps.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 14:20, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Keep[edit]
- The cat needs refining, not deletion. We have articles on people who have murdered, let's rewrite the cat description and then apply that description consistently. No need to throw it out. SolPyre (talk) 04:03, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- What should "have murdered" be defined by, though? It's not "have killed" or "responsible/contributed for having killed". I would prefer a "convicted of murder" or "accused of murder by a consensus of reputable organizations". But wouldn't this just ultimately fall under Category:Convicted felons? --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 04:05, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
