Talk:Owen Benjamin
Neo-Nazi[edit]
Is Owen Benjamin a Neo-Nazi? His views heavily overlap with it. Homophobia, praise for Hitler, extreme anti-semitism, white supremacist, and so on. What's making him not a Neo-Nazi? --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 04:44, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- I can't think of anything that wouldn't make him a Neo-Nazi, so I put him the Neo-Nazis category a couple hours ago. TheUmbilicalCordGuy (talk) 04:51, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Climate change denier[edit]
I'm not sure if he's a hardcore climate change denier. This Facebook post, which I think is from him, tells me he at least recognizes the thing? He does spew denier tropes in that post, but I noticed this sentence "When I interviewed [Bill Nye] I praised him for being a master communicator to explain to people global warming and its causes. To then see his show a year later assigning gender to ice cream and possibly installing a child limit in the U.S I lost my mind a bit. What a dark turn for such a bright and fun man to take. We have the answer to global warming." The post is from 2017, maybe his views changed? His recent video (bahfgh) did say it's a hoax, on the other hand, because the things predicted in An Inconvenient Truth didn't happen. Hope you take my word for it. That's all he said though, he just goes in a tangent how evolution doesn't predict anything and Darwin is only a dead racist now because Darwin thought Irish were below blacks and closer to other animals than to humans, and Darwin's family is a product of incest blah blah blah. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 05:25, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Categories "racists" and "anti-semites"[edit]
@Magic Master It is my view that these categories are unneeded and redundant, given that the category of alt-right (and by extension it's parent category of neo-nazi) has been applied. 15:07, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
- "It's". And IMO this whole categorization thing probably needs to be another look. If you look at other alt-right entries, you notice they have similar categorization such as Kiwi Farms getting the racist (actually "Racism") and neo-nazi tags, but not all of them. David Irving gets both Anti-Semitism and Neo Nazi tags. Steven Anderson also gets these tags. So, that's just a few selections I made, but I'm aware of the whole "redundant" category thing kinda being a recurring problem in RationalWiki as well as the irksome "racism" and "racist" categories being used interchangeably while we don't have "sexist" category but "sexism" category. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 18:16, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Owen's views on COVID-19[edit]
Darius Truxton, a Youtube who is equally obscure, as he is a fan of Owen [1], is frequently subscribed to conspiracies that downplay the 2019-20 COVID-19 outbreak. Darius even cited Owen as a source for his stance on the COVID as "the dumbest thing in human history" [2]. As for the "Papa Bear" himself, Owen has made many videos on the topic of the "PLAN-Demic" [3][4][5][6][7].

- Oh that's hundreds of videos too many. I'll maybe look at them, in a private window of course, because my recommendations are mostly cute bird videos and Mario jank and I don't want to change that. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 23:51, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Religion[edit]

BoN has a point[edit]
The islamophobia category is not supported by the article. I would guess that he is, in fact, an islamophobe, but it needs at least one citation. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 00:30, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- That's why I patrolled the edit, since the article never justified that label.
- Looking around the interwebs, it appears that for a couple of years or so, Benjamin is a "former islamophobe" and claims to be a Muslim. Lots of chatter on the social media but no good citations at first glance. Someone else can wade through this despicable racist scumbag's twatter feed; I prefer not to. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 00:52, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
