Mission relevance?[edit]

Because I don't see any in the current text.--ZooGuard (talk) 22:31, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Cranks[edit]

I think the section "It is probably not a major area for cranks because so many users do not support pseudoscience." is outdated now that there's been an influx of low-quality questions/answers and unsound users since after the QPP was introduced (according to others). IMO it's basically Reddit for Facebook junkies at this point.Advicedoge (talk) 22:20, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, as a regular visitor to Quora I would support removing that.-Flandres (talk) 22:41, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

These could be really outdated since obviously they're a decade old, not sure if they're usable. The page was pretty short previously. Chillpilled (talk) 16:07, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Who the hell is Billy Flowers?[edit]

There's been a persistent vandal ranting about someone by the name of "Billy Flowers" "debunking atheism" on Quora, which sounds like a pretty good reason to add them to our list of cranks whose opinions are less than worthless. --Luigifan18 (talk) 15:20, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

If I had to guess, it's self promo by a Troll. Justarandomliberal (talk) 15:34, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Self-promotion would be my guess, too, seeing as apparently nobody here has even heard of the dweeb, let alone tried to refute anything he allegedly said. (I was going to also suggest putting him on RationalWiki:Pissed at us until I realized that he pretty much came out of the blue, without RationalWiki having previously provoked him specifically in any manner (as far as I'm aware).) Heck, I only have the vandal's word to go by that there even is a Billy Flowers on Quora; I haven't taken the time out of my grammar-checking activities to check that out. --Luigifan18 (talk) 16:23, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

I'm trying to add this but the bot won't let me.[edit]

*NAME CAN'T BE MENTIONED: He is not a particularly relevant troll, as he only has a small number of questions. However, his name has blown up and Quora is now full of questions about him. Although his personal impact on Quora is minimal, there are thousands of questions that mention his name, many of which involve him supposedly debunking atheism. — Unsigned, by: 192.203.137.242 / talk

Yeah, I literally asked about that just two hours ago… --Luigifan18 (talk) 17:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
(BTW, whoever added Billy Flowers' name to the edit filter? Good decision. That should put the brakes on this annoying vandalism.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 17:51, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Billy Flowers is a Quora anti-atheist. He's been on there for yonks. Everyone ignores him. Scream!! (talk) 22:13, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Thoughts on the 'divine atheist' community?[edit]

I stumbled upon it, and while I may be a bit biased given how I am religious myself, it kind of came across as being in the same vein as r/Atheism; Check the replies to their pinned message, which talks about not being an asshole towards theists, and you will find people doing just that (I also found someone gatekeeping Atheism for some reason???) TheOneAndOnlyCirrusMan (talk) 20:55, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

Like, there are people in the replies genuinely assuming that the OP is a Theist just because they dared suggest that stereotyping Theists and pinning all societal ills on Religion is bad, actually; As far as I have been able to find, the creator has never stated that they are or were a Theist, and though they seem to believe in the supernatural, this doesn't automatically mean they believe in God, meaning that the people in the replies were stereotyping the guy just because they disagreed with how Theists were treated there.
