BrainMop.png As a confirmed mustard jar for taking on this job as a Sysop on RationalWiki: I, Human, pledge to only block users if they ask for it, or insert unfunny vandalism.
I furthermore pledge that if I indulge in secret private conversations about you, we will make a formal report to the mob. Is that all?
If you impugn my motives without warrant, or challenge my "AUTHORITY", er, there is nothing I can or will do.

Alert - Beware - Caution

Please keep in mind that some furniture have signed up here. Please treat them nicely as they become adept, and if things get rough, fall back on some trusty wax. They'll relax soon enough, and there's no point in making their experience more painful. Evidence so far indicates that the ones who decide to stick it out become very comfortable complete asshats - authoritarians, amazingly enough.

Other wikis

Art, indeed.

It had to come down to this, didn't it?

  • Wikipedia: Huw Powell (real name, and all that).
  • Conservapedia: Human (didn't really want to use real name, permabanned for no good reason).
  • Here: Used real name on RW1, no one recognized me so I switched to Human on RW2.
  • RWW: Humanhuman
  • RWWW: Humanhumanhuman
  • RWWWW: Humanhumanhumanhuman

TeflonPedia: Probably Human, over the holidays.

  • aSocK drawer: Human
  • Uncyclopedia: ?
  • Liberapedia: Who cares?
  • WikiIndex: One of the above.
  • CreationWiki: I'm there, but I forgot the username I set up.
  • CitizenDium: Huw Powell, real name, of course. Registered as an expert in everything.

Contributions

Aside from that comma I removed in the morning, only to work all afternoon and reinsert it? I tend not to keep track of articles I started or improved, that's just more work. Let's just say that I have attempted to wandalize almost every file I have come across, including your user page.

I made this in a moment of boredom: [1].

I tried to start a deeply disturbing Helena Bonham Carter meme on this site (that was so 1979). After a brief time of glory, it got buried in a pile of rancid goat chunks.

OK, I also started a handful of articles, made a bunch of userboxen, and uploaded more than a few scurrilous images. All too boring to list. And I'm too forgetful.

I started using the word "wandalize" to mean any edits whatsoever, but it turns to have been a previously coined word. Oh well.

I'm also pathetically trying to popularize the mocking spelling "homskollar", with some minor, partial successes here and there.

Political compasses

Political compass human.gif
Advocates compass liberal.png

You'll find me a bit lower and to the left of the Dalai Lama. Great company, I think. This one comes from politicalcompass.org (the link is in the userbox), and is based on a fairly intensive questionnaire. Hence the fairly accurate results.

"LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles."[2]

I think this one comes from the site that tries to convince everyone that they are a libertarian, and perhaps even a Libertarian. Or was that a Librarian?

A rant

This was on my CP user page a long, long time ago:

Hmmm, since many others have stucketh they necks out and listed or written about their general outlook, especially as it relates to their presence here, so will I. I'm an atheist. I believe in society's obligation to help those less fortunate get ahead in life. I am one of the few people around you ever find who will say that they are actually pro-abortion (in my case, up to age of seven years). I think the universe is roughly 15 billion years old, and I think that is really cool. It blows my mind when I look up at a starry night sky. I think that clouds are made up of trillions of tiny water droplets embedded in an almost saturated solution of water vapor, and that when they rub together, the static electricity they create discharges as lightning, with the resulting superheating of the surrounding atmosphere producing what we call thunder. This blows my mind when I watch thunderstorms. I think Easter bunnies and eggs and Christmas trees are pagan traditions I find out of place now we know where babies and spring come from. Although, I still like to stand outside and get my bearings on equinoxes and solstices. Because the sky is blue, it makes me cry. I know why the sky is blue. I can grab the correct wrench after looking at a fastener, and can make 50 year old Otto cycle engines run like a charm. I know that the best way to eliminate weeds in a lawn is to keep it healthy with organic fertilizer, not with toxic weed'n'feed products. I think hemp (not necessarily the "good buzz" variety) is our best choice for producing renewable liquid fuel, and corn is one of the worst. I have given up on America's disastrous love affair with personal firearms - there are just too many out there to do anything about. I think the invasion of Iraq was quite possibly America's worst foreign policy disaster to date. I fear that Bush 43 and his "team" might manage to do something worse, however. I started productively editing conswervapedia when I realized that there was no need whatsoever to provide sources, so I can just write what I know. I think it is hilarious that the best contributors on Conswerapedophiliavapedia tend to be liberals, and the worst debaters and least productive editors tend to be YEC neo-con sysops. Speaking of pedophilia, I am appalled that Cardinal Law (archdiocese of Boston) is free and working in Rome, when he should be in jail for the rest of his life. Speaking of life sentences, although Christianity would be missing a major "miracle" without it, I am utterly opposed to the death penalty in any form - I just don't think the State should ever have the power to take the lives of its citizens. 19:57, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

To people who think RW "is just as bad" as some other place

TheLadyOfShallot.jpg
Drove up a newcomer in a covered wagon: 'What kind of folks live around here?' 'Well, stranger, what kind of folks was there in the country you come from?' 'Well, they was mostly a lowdown, lying, thieving gossiping, backbiting kind lot of people.' 'Well, I guess, stranger, that's about the kind of folks you'll find around here.' And the dusty gray stranger had just about blended into the dusty gray cottonwoods in a clump on the horizon when another newcomer drove up: 'What kind of folks live around here?' 'Well, stranger, what kind of folks was there in the country you come from?' 'Well, they was mostly a decent, hardworking, lawabiding, friendly lot of people.' 'Well, I guess, stranger, that's about the kind of folks you'll find around here.'"

Block 2: Courtesy of Conservative, May 6 2007 for a month (reduced to time served, about 24 hours). For Vandalism by Wholesale Deletion. Very careless of me.

Support the unblocking of Human here!!! (link long since dead)

Block 3: Courtesy of Ed Poor, May 13 2007 for two hours. For "anti-project propaganda".

Block 4: May 16, 2007: Banned, courtesy of TK. For "Sock/Vandal/Icewdg gang." (Note: by then, "Icewedge" was already a banned text string at confusedfumbleassedlyingstupidpedophilia.)

  • GUESS WHAT? I'M BA-A-A-A-CK. Not that I can do anything controversial, like add "truth" where they have "lies"... dang.
  • (This was due to some maniac running around blocking CP sysops and unblocking ancient cabalists. When the blocks were reinstated, they were for more "reasonable" times - i.e., not "infinite". Eventually the block expired, and my ISP changed my IP address and now all is good.)
  • I am also operating under the wary eye and tentative sponsorship of "The Sysop Formerly Known as Bohdan". I am a founding member of the Danish Writing Group.

Block 5: November 10, 2008: One Andrew Layton Schlafly blocked me for one day for de-Muslimating the lead paragraph at Barack Obama.

Block 6: December 11, 2008: RodWeathers, known parodist, blocked me a for a week for "Inserting nonsense or gibberish into pages or edit comments" - what I had actually done was capitalized a pronoun referring to the Diety in a comment TK had made, which TK thanked me for.

Block 7: December 18, 2008: Once again Mr. Schlafly displays his charm and intelligence by blocking me for six months for "11 prior blocks, a silly pattern of editing, lack of use of a real first name, and an overall distraction from learning here"

Blocked forever by a moron, just before Andy's block expired. Some fuckwad decided to wax my genitals on a weekly basis for the rest of his life. Bye, bye, editing conservapedia. It was such sweet nectar while it lasted, but all bowls of ambrosia eventually need to be washed. Fuck you, TK, you idiot.

From an email about the Texas biology textbook controversy:

"The most recent review of biology textbooks was a particularly egregious process considering the people who were invited to participate. Here are just a few of the reviewers who are listed in the Creation Science Hall of Fame as “Darwin Skeptics”4:

  • Raymond Bohlin, a research fellow for an organization whose purpose is the promotion of “intelligent design” — a religious idea which seeks to cast doubt on evolution while circumventing the Supreme Court ruling that bars the teaching of “creation science” in public schools.5
  • Walter Bradley, who helped launch the "intelligent design” movement with a book he coauthored, titled The Mystery of Life's Origin.
  • Ide Trotter, a wealthy funder of anti-science organizations who has repeatedly participated in science textbook reviews advocating for the inclusion of scientifically discredited theories about the weaknesses of evolution."
  • Monika Milka might win the medal, very surprised to find her name a red link. An opening comment from her on the FB TAVS page (a thread about a mother delighted that her daughter had finally caught chicken pox!):

"What a bunch of nazi F#$%tards. ! How stupid do you all look. Homeopathy is the most effective & safest way to treat diseases, especially childhood diseases. Clearly not one of you have a clue of the science behind this medicine. Yet you all got your opinions & do you know how stupid you all actually look to anyone with intelligence. No one has ever died from Homeopathy & look at you lets report & wishing a person to die, oh better notify authorities. 2-5 berries omgosh. What is the matter with you freaks. Yet not a word or thought or consideration of the deaths created by allopathy medicine. WTF. Something very wrong with you lot. Homeopathy does not harm . The bullshit you all spout is what is dangerous. Misleading & very ill informed information, dissuading others with your fuelled vexatious crap. Yet you all claim to inject your children with how many toxins ? Not ever questioning, you have got to be kidding. So enthralled in spouting your crap that you probably haven't even noticed something not right with your kids, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree & you probably think it's all normal...!"
